GostHacked Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Who is "they"? Monsanto? It's in the title!!!!! And who else would we talk about when discussing GMOs ??????????? Quote
Moonbox Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) You think they can go around making false claims that Roundup is safe to drink ... and not back them up? Who's they? Monsanto? It's in the title!!!!! And who else would we talk about when discussing GMOs ??????????? He's not a Monsanto employee, so "they" aren't in any way accountable for what he says. Try to keep up please. As for "backing up" claims, the anti-GMO 'movement' has made a business out of condemning things with no scientific evidence whatsoever, so all the outrage and bed-wetting we're seeing over this rings pretty hollow. Anyways, here's a pretty good summary of this tempest-in-a-tea-kettle controversy for people who are even remotely interested in a rational conversation: So this video? It’s meaningless theater. It’s a man making a stupid statement (you shouldn’t drink a quart of weed killer), a journalist making a dumb assertion that he should drink some weed killer, and then the man who made the stupid argument storming off. It’s an argument about nothing that tells us nothing except that people do stupid things. http://www.forbes.com/sites/matthewherper/2015/03/27/no-its-not-safe-to-drink-weed-killer-on-camera-but-who-cares/ Edited April 9, 2015 by Moonbox Quote "A man is no more entitled to an opinion for which he cannot account than he is for a pint of beer for which he cannot pay" - Anonymous
On Guard for Thee Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 After all that we finally figured out you shouldn't drink weed killer. Any ideas on picking up a hot frying pan...Tried that once, I would never suggest anyone doing it. Quote
jacee Posted April 9, 2015 Author Report Posted April 9, 2015 He's not a Monsanto employee, so "they" aren't in any way accountable for what he says. He's speaking for glyphosate. Would Monsanto care to drink a glass? . Quote

Je suis Omar Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 And you took what he said and turned it into something it wasn't. Creating false realities, one meme at a time. It's déjà vu all over again. We were told, Its (Agent Orange) totally safe and it wont hurt you at all, he added. We were told, You can drink it, you can brush your teeth with it, or you can bathe in it. It wont hurt you. Those were lies. (See below for more details) http://www.whale.to/c/us_soldiers.html U.S. Soldiers Sprayed Agent Orange Across Korea Many U.S. soldiers who served in Korea in the 1960s and 70s sprayed the lethal defoliant Agent Orange throughout Korea, a former U.S. Army captain told a National Assembly hearing on Monday. July 27th, 2011 Phil Steward said he started asking around in 2005 and got in touch with U.S. soldiers who served in Korea during the 1960s and 70s, and they admitted that they had experience using Agent Orange across Korea. Agent Orange didnt stay on the DMZ. Agent Orange was sprayed through a wide, wide area of South Korea, he said. We were told, Its totally safe and it wont hurt you at all, he added. We were told, You can drink it, you can brush your teeth with it, or you can bathe in it. It wont hurt you. Those were lies. Steward was in Korea with Steve House, another U.S. veteran who was the first to reveal that Agent Orange had been dumped at Camp Carroll in Chilgok, North Gyeongsang Province in 1978. House said for six months starting in February 1978, soldiers were ordered to dig trenches in area D at Camp Carroll two or three times a week and bury hundreds of barrels of Agent Orange that were brought in from outside. Later, all of the vegetables grown along the nearby ridges wasted away, and scores of rabbits and birds died, he added. House said the barrels bore the labels Chemical Type: Agent Orange, 1967″ and Vietnam. The barrels were rusted and leaking and caused him and fellow soldiers to suffer from skin rashes and heavy coughing. House, who served as a heavy machinery operator at Camp Carroll for one year added he could probably pinpoint the correct site if he was able to visit the base. He presented as evidence a photo of the trench that was dug at the U.S. military base back in 1978. House and Steward suffer from diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, glaucoma, skin rashes and other diseases known to be caused by Agent Orange. Im running out of time. Its up to you to take it the rest of the way, so we can get some answers for the Korean people and the Americans who were exposed to this stuff, House said as he wiped away tears. Quote

carepov Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Monsanto? It's in the title!!!!! And who else would we talk about when discussing GMOs ??????????? It is not clear to me what Monsanto has to do with Golden Rice. They don't seem to be saying much about it. Unlike, these people: http://www.goldenrice.org/Content1-Who/who1_humbo.php http://www.gatesfoundation.org/what-we-do/global-development/agricultural-development/golden-rice http://irri.org/golden-rice?gclid=CMP3qP2p6cQCFYY_aQodKHUAHA To borrow a phrase: "the science is settled". Golden Rice is safe and effective. People, like members of Greenpeace, that actively work to delay the development of Golden Rice are allowing this to continue in such high numbers: http://imgbuddy.com/vitamin-a-deficiency-blindness.asp Quote

He was hired by Monsanto, ergo that means they are in every way (except criminially) responsible for what he says and does while on the job. Tell your employee to jump in her car for an errand run and she crashes? Guess what, you will be sued liability wise. Hire a contract worker and they burn down something inadvertently? You can expect a lawsuit as owner of the company . Quote

By that juvenile logic I am accountable for what white-supremacists say because they "speak for whites" and...well...I'm white. Do you have any other advanced concepts like this you'd care to share?
