Keepitsimple Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) I hope this guy gets more than a slap on the wrist.......especially after his pathetic performances with a pliant CBC....what do you think his sentence should be given he could get up to 5 years in prison and a $5000 fine? A series of Sona's colleagues testified that he spoke of engaging in dirty campaign tactics leading up to the election and weeks later freely admitted to his role in ordering the plot, and in fact bragged that he was the mastermind. ............................. It was Sona's "apparent arrogance and self-importance" that led to his downfall, Hearn said in delivering his verdict. cybercoma Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 The absolute maximum is $5000 and/or 5 years in jail. With all of the mitigating factors I expect him to get next to nothing and in all likelihood no jail time. Quote
The_Squid Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Trying to rig elections should get the maximum. The CPC should also be held accountable and charged with the same crime, but unfortunately, they won't be. Quote

I fear you are probably right.......but I think the only mitigating factor is that he has no criminal record. Other than that, the guy has caused enough trouble to last 5 elections! Bryan Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 The NDP and LPC MPs who got nailed for their illegal robocalls only got a small fine. It'll be very interesting to see if justice is dealt in an equal manner or not. Quote
Big Guy Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 I think his sentencing should depend on his cooperation with police. If he cooperates fully, leading the investigation into who else was involved then he should be treated as a first term offender. If he refuses or gives answers that are questionable then he should be treated accordingly and have the book thrown at him. Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.
Keepitsimple Posted October 17, 2014 Author Report Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) What happened here w the CBC? He interviewed for 20 minutes with Evan Solomon on Power & Politics (the clip is no longer active).....all the while saying he was toally innocent, a scapegoat, a victim......and all the while, Solomon is feeding softball questions. He portrayed himself as a victim and CBC encouraged that image to feed the idiotic conspiracy theory. In the end, he ended up being an arrogant mischief-maker who facilitated yet another faux-scandal - spearheaded by CBC's Terry MIleskiw. There's enough crap going on in Ottawa without making stuff up. Edited October 17, 2014 by Keepitsimple Quote Back to Basics
Boges Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 No! Sona was getting his directions directly from the PM!!! Quote

There absolutely should be judicial discretion for the particular circumstances of an individual's case. Quote

Topaz Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 I'm not 100% sure if he did any thing wrong or if he did, other were involved. We will never hear from the manager , who took off to the Middle-East and refuse to talk. It's very possible to setup someone for the fall like Sona, maybe we will know sometime in the future. There was someone else who knew the a lot that worked in the PMO and was MP Pierre's girlfriend. Don't trust any of them. Quote

overthere Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 There is a direct link between Sona, MIke Duffy and Senator Brazeau. It involves the Zionists. I cannot say more and be safe. Quote Science too hard for you? Try religion!

If some "weenie" punk kid can access the CIMS system and farm it out through a robocall company and nobody knows about it? You're being willfully blind in ignoring the context of Guelph - a riding that the Conservatives had no chance of winning - as demonstrated by the landslide Liberal win. If the PMO wanted to try something underhanded, do you really think they'd be stupid enough to pick Guelph? Give yourself a good shake - and then smack yourself a couple of times.
