Shady Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 Did anyone else see this interview with Glenn Beck this morning? I was watching Reliable Sources on CNN and stumbled across it half way through, so I watched the rest online. It was quite interesting. I suggest giving it a look, but without any preconceived ideas, as difficult as that might be. I don't necessarily agree with him on everything, but he's a very compelling individual, who's changed his tune a bit, so to speak. He says he played a part in what he describes as "tearing the country apart" along with others, on all sides of politics. Quote
Mighty AC Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Like Bill O'Reilly, he seems to be revealing that the odd con act he put on for so long was really just a way to sell books to crazies. This is a longer vid of Beck with my man Penn Jillete from a couple of years ago. Totally worth watching. Just a feeble attempt to try and appear intellectual. Just more right wing soap opera crap. Next he'll be getting Oral Roberts to grant him forgiveness. Maybe his ratings are down! Quote
jbg Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 What does this mean? You have used this more than once. On Guard for Thee Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Anne Coulter thinks there are 52 billion people in the world. Just heard her say that on CNN. Quote
Mighty AC Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 No that's not true at all. Despite being an atheist, Greg Gutfeld is another guy that plays the lucrative conservative, Christian, Fox News game for the cash. The ideal target audience for a product or an act should be a healthy mix of the wealthy and the stupid. You can't really blame guys like Beck, Gutfeld, O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. for cashing in. On Guard for Thee Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 You're right, how can you blame them, there are such a number of brains dead dolts that actually get their "news" from Fox that why wouldn't you slip your hand in their pockets. Hey it worked well for Jim and Tammy Faye and the like. Quote
Shady Posted August 6, 2014 Author Report Posted August 6, 2014 I love Redeye with Greg Gutfeld, it's hilarious! Quote
cybercoma Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 He says he played a part in what he describes as "tearing the country apart" along with others, on all sides of politics. There is no "all sides" tearing the country apart. There is one side that has continuously obstructed and acted without the least bit of good faith over the last 6 years. Any attempt at equivalency is totally and completely incorrect. Quote

On Guard for Thee Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Complete nonsense. There's plenty of blame on all sides. You just may not know about it. Fox probably helps "tear the country apart" when they present soap opera and call it "news" Of course usually they have 3 or so talking heads all talking over top of each other so nobody knows what's going on. Just more tension to sell soap. Quote
Derek 2.0 Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) I love Redeye with Greg Gutfeld, it's hilarious! Is Redeye still on? I don't mind Gutfeld on "The Five"......the program that replaced Beck. Edited August 7, 2014 by Derek 2.0 Quote
Shady Posted August 7, 2014 Author Report Posted August 7, 2014 Is Redeye still on? I don't mind Gutfeld on "The Five"......the program that replaced Beck. Yep, it's still on, it airs at 3am. What's hilarious too, is that at 3am, it out draws many prime time cable news shows. I miss the old insult wars between Dana Vachon and comedian Jessie Joyce. Quote

On Guard for Thee Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Well, this guy's thought patterns are so weird, I wonder how he thinks. It is intriguing. I find his stuff formulaec and rather boring as well as silly. It's meant to have the same effect as a Jimmy Swaggart etc. Lead the brain dead by the nose and then get their walletts out. I couldn't suffer through this one you posted but for instance he, as a religious drone blames politicians for why we hate each other. Let's see, how many horrendous wars have been fought over religion? His crap does work well to sell soap though, look at the money he makes. Quote
