I don't follow Ontario politics well but this recent Ontario election has surprised me. I thought Wynne would lose. Was Hudak a bad candidate? How could he lose?

Then again, I realize that Western (American/Canadian/European) voters want "stability". They want predictability. They don't want radical change; they want safety, security.

Sadly, the State is not a safe harbour - yet Leftists will offer it as one.

I was very surprised that Wynne won also...I was right with BC, Alberta and Quebec, but wrong this time.

His main campaign promise - a million jobs - didn't pass the smell test.

Can't say I'm thrilled about majority though ... ever.

Why is Harper in the title of this thread. Hudak also lost an election in 2011 a few months after Harper won his majority.

It really does seem like people in Ontario don't like being ruled by the same party in both levels of government.
