I don't follow Ontario politics well but this recent Ontario election has surprised me. I thought Wynne would lose. Was Hudak a bad candidate? How could he lose?

Then again, I realize that Western (American/Canadian/European) voters want "stability". They want predictability. They don't want radical change; they want safety, security.

Sadly, the State is not a safe harbour - yet Leftists will offer it as one.

You didn't hear?

His main campaign promise - a million jobs - didn't pass the smell test. :D

Can't say I'm thrilled about majority though ... ever.

Why is Harper in the title of this thread. Hudak also lost an election in 2011 a few months after Harper won his majority.

It really does seem like people in Ontario don't like being ruled by the same party in both levels of government.

Because the OP is from Quebec, where some believe that provinces are equal to the feds.

It's a recessive gene.

Don't blame us!

I think Hudak pretty much shot himself in the foot shooting his mouth off.

I started a thread in the provincial politics section if you want to take a look at that. I think we summed things up pretty well in there.
