bush_cheney2004 Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) Tommy Douglas was a communist? Yes....a communist...trailed by the RCMP for years as such. Big time commie.....that's my opinion based on the evidence. He was also very big into eugenics....nice guy this "greatest Canadian". There's an infestation in that country and it's growing at an alarming rate. Soon the norm could be the irrational hate that is being demonstrated by the teabagger movement. It endangers the world even though it endangers themselves first. It really could become a shooting war amongst themselves! Too late....go back and study some American history....you should have seen it already with all the American media you probably consume on a daily basis. It's called the "Civil War"...or "War Between the States". Do I need to remind you that the Queen of Canada drinks tea ? Would that make her....dare I type it...a "teabagger" ? Or is that beyond the pale for Canadian sensibilities (except when it comes to bashing Americans). Edited June 12, 2014 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
PIK Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) I don't know. It's not something we pay much attention to in B.C. They were cops that treaded on their guns or something like that? How do you not pay attention when BC mounties are the worst cops in the country. Edited June 20, 2014 by PIK Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
jacee Posted June 21, 2014 Report Posted June 21, 2014 Tommy Douglas's story in parliament about the white cats and the black cats was a lot more important and certainly funnier.MOUSELAND by Tommy DouglasCARTOON version by grandson Kiefer Sutherland Quote
monty16 Posted June 21, 2014 Author Report Posted June 21, 2014 Great stuff! And in comparison, if Kennedy hadn't been offed by one of his own country's cats, nobody would have even remembered about asking what they could do for their country. Quote

jbg Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 "Kennedy hadn't been offed by one of his own country's cats"? Very casual way of referring to a traumatic national tragedy. jbg Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Are nerves still raw about Riel ? With some Canadians, yes. I work with one who still considerst that an injustice. Murdered presidents become great and the more completely 'murdered' they are, the more great they become. Reagan was only a little bit great. Pity he couldn't have become great! Quote

Garfield and McKinley have not morphed into "greatness" because they were assassinated. I happen to think that JFK was a diletante as President, much as Trudeau the Elder was as PM and Trudeau the Younger is as third-party leader. His assassination was a national tragedy, however, and one that is not funny. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
