GostHacked Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 The early attempt to explain transgender ... 6th Century to 1st Century BC -- In the Greek Hippocratic Corpus(collection of medical texts), physicians propose that both parents secrete male or female "bodies" and that if the father's secretion is female (rather than male) and the mother's is male, the result would either be a "man-woman" (effeminate male) or a "mannish" female. An effeminate male still can identify as male. A butchy woman can still identify as a woman. Personally I am indifferent to all of it. However when you get down to the biological level of most species on this planet, need two to reproduce. Hence my notion of binary. Obviously such people have existed throughout human history. Sure, that is reasonable. Can't really contest that in any way. "Binary" obviously doesn't describe all human beings, and never has. No not in the totalitarian sense of it. It is not completely binary, but for procreation it is essential. What may be different now is that transgender people want to be considered, respected and treated as human beings, the way they are, the way they were born being. I treat everyone as a human first regardless. And if you want to be treated as a human, act like one and have some dignity about it. Respect yourself first off, and respect others. If others do not respect you, why waste your time with them? It's just not a big deal, unless someone makes it one. . The LGBT group sure has made it a big deal. Quote
