No notification from the mods at all. If I could remember the title of my latest thread I would restart it. Give me a hint and if the admin or the mods don't provide an explanation then I'm sure the won't mind be bringing it back. Quote

monty16 Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 Please, no hint's everybody, OK? Just kiddin. If there was a thread eliminated I'm going to hear about it from the admin. I'm now wondering if I should start a new thread for different topic or take a chance of introducing a new topic on an old thred that wouldn't be suitable? What's a boy to do? In the meantime, what's your advice for posting a bunch of quotes of the warmongers who lied to get the Iraq war?New thread? Use one of the old ones? In any case, it's really good stuff and it's being brought up now because of what ISIS is doing in Iraq and why the US warmongers are responsible. Coming soon to a theater near you! Quote

jbg Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 Capitol flight from Russia around 60 billion for Q1 of this year, stock market down 20%, Ruble down 8% against the buck, interest rates up from 5.5 to 7.5%, IMF forecast of growth down from 1.3 to 0.2%.The "Capitol" is a building in Washington DC that holds the House and the Senate. It does not fly. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." ASIP Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 But, but, but, why do the charts not show the Ruble down against the greenback? Did you answer a little too hastily friend? Ruble is low now. What keeps it from falling is interventions of Russia Central Bank. They spend large amounts of currency to keep Ruble within good looking "corridor". It's a matter of principle for Putin. They have large reserves. Quote

And fwiw, if Russia can afford billions to prop up the Ruble then what more do I need to say about WRONG! Are we supposed to now think that all countries except Russia are permitted to prop up their currencies? Tell you friend to hop on another band wagon if he wants to go toe to toe with me. Argus Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Russian intellience service kidnaps Ukrainian pilot. So it seems during an attack on a rebel checkpoint a couple of Russian "journalists" were killed. And somehow or other, a Ukrainian army pilot who was involved in the fighting wound up being kidnapped and spirited across the border into Russia, where she is to be 'tried' for her crimes. And what does Russia say? Well, in the spirit of openness and honesty the Russians are becoming known for the Russian government says she 'voluntarily' crossed the border into Russia. Uhhhhhhh. okaaayyy. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-28232966 Edited July 9, 2014 by Argus Quote "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley
Big Guy Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 The battle continues with ethnic ties superseding line on a map. Those oblasts in East Ukraine will remain as a kind of buffer between Kiev and Moscow. Even if Kiev takes those areas militarily I believe the continuing ethnic unrest would not be worth the troops and money to keep the occupants in line with Kiev. It would be interesting to see if then the UN would put peace keepers in that area if asked.
