Boges Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 If trudeau fails to win ,this could be the total end of the liberal party, they have been given a second third chance to prove to canadians they are real and do care. But no, they pick a leader hoping canadian will be stupid enough to trust him. They never did learn. FTFY Quote
Spiderfish Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 Didn't kick em out of the party though. Didn't politely ask them to stop calling themselves "Liberal". Those icky Senators are clearly hurting the brand by doing that. Breach of trust, fraud, and likely a charge of mortgage fraud...it probably doesn't matter what he calls himself. I don't think he's going to find retirement all it's cracked up to be. Quote
PIK Posted February 25, 2014 Author Report Posted February 25, 2014 Trudeau apoligizes, so I guess it was a big deal. LOL Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Boges Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 Trudeau apoligizes, so I guess it was a big deal. LOL Not initially. He got his Astronaut MP to stand up in the Commons yesterday to say he has nothing to apologize for. The Ukraine Ambassador asked him to say sorry so I guess that might be want made him. Quote
poliforthepeople Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 The fact that he went and apologized in person gives me more respect for him. He took it seriously, which I like. I am confused why people defended him yesterday though. I expect more from Garneau! Quote
Topaz Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 Justin said he wouldn't do "personal attacks" not that he wouldn't point out where the Tories are wrong, in his view. Justin said he was sorry to offend the Ambassador but Putin was counting on the Russian hockey team to so more and I'm sure it was a very disappointment to Putin. I heard someone say at the coffee shop, that he wondered if Putin would sent the team to the salt mines, but as a politician, one has to learn to think twice before speaking and Justin is still learning. At least, he does the right thing, how many times has Harper said he was sorry for what he did or said??? Quote

Second joking about the Russian disappointment is fine. Jimmy Fallon did a cute joke last week after the USA lost that he sent them to a "Different Shootout" :-D The tone deaf matter of Trudeau joking about the Ukraine disaster is where he slipped up. After everything harper has been put thru by the media and this board, get use to it ,it is our turn now. And you will find out harper is 100 x's the man and statesmen trudeau could ever dream of. I don't even think trudeau's heart is in it, he just wants to be like daddy. And that is what scares me that he will wnat to come out with something even bigger then the crap trudeau sr stuck us with. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
Keepitsimple Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 One thing that we haven't touched on is how hard you have to work to be Prime Minister. Harper must frequently put in 12-14 hour days. He's been doing it for years going back to writing policies for the Progressive Conservatives and then being a founding member of the Reform Party. Trudeau has never had a job that demanded the kinds of hours that he will be expected to work. It takes total commitment, lots of stamina, and a pragmatic approach so you don't pull out your hair. Trivia: Did you know that Stephen Harper entered politics as a member of the Young Liberals? He left the party because he was so disenchanted with Pierre Trudeau's National Energy Program. Big Guy Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 I thought his joke was funny. I understand that the Russians are sending the Ukrainians a hundred thousands bottles of vodka for them to celebrate their newly found independence - each bottle carried by a Russian soldier. Maybe he should have used That one? Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.
On Guard for Thee Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 FTFY If they were stupid enough to vote for Harper thern they must be rewlly stupid. Apparently, according to the polls, they have learned their lesson. Which usually happens after the cons. get a term and mess up the economy. They get sent to the doldrums where they have spent most of their time since John A. (Who's party at the time BTW was called, the Liberal Conservative Party) Quote
jbg Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 So trudeau skips out on reporters after the convention and then does not show up for work on monday, I thought he was going to be open and transparent. What has happened . LMFAOHe's a scared kid. Do you blame him? Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." On Guard for Thee Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 He's a scared kid. Do you blame him? He's no more scared than is Harper when Mulcair gets to his feet in QP. I love watching him squirm with his "I've been perfectly clear Mr. Speaker" on whatever issue, as everyone erupts into laughter. Quote

PIK Posted February 26, 2014 Author Report Posted February 26, 2014 So tommy wants to form the coalition again, trudeau said no for now ,but will he if harper wins a minority and tommy offers trudeau the big chair with a coalition? gunrutz Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 If you read the entire context you find it isn't quite so terrible as the press would have us believe with their carefully selected slices. Anyway, a week from now it will be so far in the back pages it will be at best a footnote. There are no circumstances, none, no joke of any kind, no matter how not so terrible it was, under which someone jokes about a situation where people are being killed by their government in another country, even if those people are our enemies, you don't laugh, you don't joke about it. You would have to be interminably immature or painfully unintelligent to think that could be acceptable from anyone, let alone someone who wants to be PM. It is so sad that people are so partisan that they will defend or brush off such a stupid act, that is what this is, incredibly stupid, he does want to get elected right? Despite that he is too stupid to know he shouldn't make that kind of joke? I dont like Harper, but he isn't stupid. Chretien wasn't stupid, i can respect that, Trudeau appears to be an empty suit, vacuous. Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 You mean as the NDP erupts in laughter, don't you? Well actually I mean all memebers in the house who are not under Harper control. Quote

And let's not forget that spontaneity is part of Trudeau’s brand, and his popular appeal. He’s a fresh face, running as a fresh voice, seeking to sweep away the politics of “secrecy and control". I am looking forward to a fresh voice leading our country. And I am not some 'shallow' woman as a poster once suggested here for every woman who supports Trudeau.
