What is the use of having one if she won't do her job. The wonder boy is getting away with total fraud. This is a new low for this country, this boy can't seem to do no wrong no matter how obvious it is. Just imagine if a conservative took money from unions and then vote to help out the unions in their fight not to be help accountable to anyone. This is disgusting and she needs to be investigated. She must be a pupil of howard wilson.

She is a idiot and does not have a clue what she is doing no matter who put her there. He took money from unions and is backing them. That is a scandal and should be treatede as such.

Come on, he took money from unions as a MOP, and votes on union stuff snd votes in favour, anywhere else and that is bribery, but not when it comes to the wonder boy. The libs have not changed one iota.

He 'took' money from a lot of places in the form of speaking fees. Getting paid for your occupation (he's a professional speaker now, as well as an MP - he isn't the only MP with a side business) isn't bribery.

OK but its a bit more concerning that. Its more than simply getting paid for a side job. Given that he's an MP and that he's getting paid by unions. At the very least its a conflict of interest.

You don't think Harper gets donations from the oil barons?

Then he gives them $1b a year of our money in tar sands subsidies.

And he makes himself 'supreme decider' on pipeline development to help them out.

And of course, his personal stock portfolio benefits from the decisions he makes too ... Oh wait! He doesn't have one! It's all in his wife's name! Ya ... sure ...

It's one thing to accept donations from companies during political campaigns, all parties do this and it's impossible to completely eliminate it. It's quite another to be a sitting MP and accept money which goes into your personal bank account from a vested interest group, regardless of the cover story. It's worse because the potential for corruption is much greater.

But still a goal.

And eliminating industry lobbyists paid out of govt subsidies.

The business existed before he was an mp, but I agree the optics are bad.

I guess that's why he quit the side business.

There are other mp's still doing it.

It sure looks like a conflict of interest to me. He accepted over $100,000 in personal payments from unions, including tens of thousands of dollars in his time as an MP. After receiving this money, he is now a vocal opponent of the union transparency bill and his party is opposing it in the Senate.

As the ethics commissioner said: OTTAWA – The federal ethics watchdog says she won’t investigate Liberal leader Justin Trudeau for accepting speaking fees from unions.

He did accept a speaking fee, he sure didn`t turn it down, and is now voting against Union transparency.

If he was only speaking to unions, sure, but he's not.

The problem is that many of the speaking engagements should be part of his job as a sitting MP. He's already being paid as an MP to speak on certain issues. He really shouldn't be charging people for something he's already being paid to do.

It sure looks like a conflict of interest to me.

And it sure didn't look like conflict of interest to the Conservative-appointed Ethics Commissioner. Not at the time he asked if it was ok for him to be doing and not now that the Ethics Commissioner is being pressured into opening an investigation into it. So your perception is obviously wrong.
