Bob Macadoo Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) I recognize that Canada has weathered the storm from 2007-8 better than a lot of countries. Some of that attributable to Harper/Carney keeping our cheap money going AND some due to the financial network set in place during the Liberal era. Recognizing laurels for this gov't can be had; it's hard to congratulate someone who pats their own back and refuses to acknowledge their faults though. I have to snicker at an award granted by the "Reputation Institute". If this was an award for JT you'd be guffawing too. Maybe next they can get a participation trophy. Sandy MacNab Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 PIK, you always give me a good chuckle with your posts. The government is rife with scandal; I guess you think that is really great. Canada need to go to the model that public education uses; where equality and diversity are the main focal points of a vibrant and tolerant nation. Don't you wish! Quote
Sandy MacNab Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 Notice how little action there is from the Harper-haters when they are presented with factual articles from the world outside Canada. The world has taken notice of what we have accomplished in the last 5 years or so. Too bad our Left dominated media - like the CBC - cannot find the time to let Canadians see themselves as most of the world sees us. I think the Left, especially the Liberals, are far more interested in trashing Harper. They are so bitter that they are quite willing to belittle Canada and snort at our achievements. I'd wage most of the World, including the USA, marvel at what a great country this is. Quote
Smallc Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 This story really drives home the point that political parties are human systems, and that there will be corrupt individuals in all parties. It also drives home the point that the NDP needs to get off their high horse. Quote

It is to bad that has to happen. And to think they feel justin could do a better job. Finally we have a country that is not scared of it's shadow and actually has a say on the world stage instead of being a fence sitter and going along with anybody ,even the dictators of the world. I am also proud to have a PM that is proud of this country's history and not trying to hide it. Edited July 29, 2013 by PIK Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Sandy MacNab Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Yeah, Justin will fix the country! Do you mean "fix" as in the term "castrate"? If so, I'm sure that your prediction - in the unlucky event he becomes PM - will come true. Quote

If so, I'm sure that your prediction - in the unlucky event he becomes PM - will come true. It's not my prediction. I was joking. ironstone Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 Paul Dewar is very fortunate in that he belongs to a Socialist political party so this story will get very little airtime or space in most newspapers. What a sharp contrast to the vast amount of negative coverage the Conservatives get from the robocalls non-story. As for Justin Trudeau,I hate to admit it but he stands an excellent chance to become our next Prime Minister. He reminds me of Obama in that he seems to gravitate to the far-left types although Trudeau himself doesn't strike me as being any sort of intellectual genius. He is the spoiled rich kid. On Guard for Thee Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 We are the most respected country in the world right now. Not something you ever heard of when the Liberals were in power. Matter of fact our popularity as well as our respect has dwindled greatly under Harper's guidance. We were once the second most chosen tourist destination country in the world (under the liberals) now we are thirteenth. Most of our allies in Europe don't trust that we are concerned with stewardship of the environment, and Stevie keeps fading into the woodwork by proroging parliament so he won't have to answer corruption questions. When we throw him out next election I project he will quickly become one of the most forgotten PM's in our history. Of course he has been the first and only PM to be found in contempt of parliament, so that may linger. I hasten to add that Trudeau has work to do i.e. we need to see some meat on the bone with regard to his policies, however he has a couple of years untill the election so there is time, and we do need a change.
