Last week Obama made dire predictions about the effects of sequestration, were they just warnings

or were they thinly veiled threats.

I don't believe it is the President's job to create chaos by making dire predictions instead he

should be reassuring all that things are under control. Once again he takes no responsibility and just points a finger.

President Obama is learning that he does not have the same chops as The Great Communicator. Gospel inspired oratory is one thing, but Obama just hasn't hit his stride in this regard. Frankly, for many Americans the novelty has worn off...honeymoon long over. He can't solve conflicts with Congress the way that Reagan or Clinton could.

Perhaps Obama's adversaries in Congress differ from those of prior years in that some seem to view their one and only mission as opposing tax increases, and others seem to view their one and only mission as opposing Obama.

Perhaps Obama's adversaries in Congress differ from those of prior years in that some seem to view their one and only mission as opposing tax increases, and others seem to view their one and only mission as opposing Obama.

I believe there were tax increases, the tax rate for those making $400,000 or more went up. But once they were in place there was just a call for more tax increases and still no call for spending cuts. Somehow that's called the "balanced

approach".

A Republican Party 'own goal'... a direct result of the insistence by Republicans leaders that they would not raise the federal debt ceiling unless Obama agreed to "spending cuts" - the spending cuts became... "the sequestration". Just what kind of "Pliny advice" would be helpful reassurance... that "all things are under control"? Is there some magical control mechanism to manage the mandated sequestration cuts?

Name 1 single SPECIFIC thing Obama has offered in cuts to compromise?? One. No generalities. Specifics please. There are no specifics because he has NO specific plan. It's all "we're gonna do this, or that" generalities. He even rejected his OWN commission's report telling him bluntly that he has to cut spending or they're in deep trouble and you are saying they are the idiots? Keep drinking the Kool-Aid Cyber.. If he gains control of congress or keeps refusing to be a true leader for the US people , he will easily double the US debt by the end of his term.

He is the President. He is supposed to be the one to compromise for the good of the nation. Instead his quest to destroy the GOP and take congress in 2014 is his #1 priority. He is the worst president in US history and history will someday show him as the man who lead his country into ruin. Nero is already fiddling and Obama is helping..

Even the hated one, Dubya, knew how to get things done with Congress. Obama hasn't gotten a budget through Congress in 4 years. Instead of making compromises like Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Dubya, he feels that he shouldn't have to. That mindset seems elitist.

Yep, the Democrat controlled Senate hasn't passed a budget in over 4 years. Makes it hard for regular order of the government to take place. There's never any Democrat version of a budget to reconcile with the house Republican version. That used to be the normal way things were done. That is, until Democrats took control of the Senate. Now it's budget by crisis.

The cuts are pretty stupid. They gut key funding for already direly underfunded research and education to save a few pennies while the trillions upon trillions of dollars of costs of unsustainable entitlement programs remain protected. The US will sink deeper and deeper into debt until changes are made to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. At the rate the costs of these programs are growing, in another few decades you couldn't pay for them if you taxed everything in the economy at 100%.

Cuts arn't deep enough, US policy is just batbrained in terms of economics and finances it is a long road to ruin. They need to get their stuff in order. Take over the federal reserve and make their own currency already.

It is just a fascist system run by bankers as is.
