Pliny Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Is this elevator prank just too cruel? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7N5OhNplEd4&feature=g-logo Anyone subject to this prank who believes in ghosts might have a reason to be frightened but would those that don't be able to laugh in the moment or might they be just as unnerved - or maybe even moreso as it may shake their non-belief? Could anyone remain calm? Quote I want to be in the class that ensures the classless society remains classless.
Canuckistani Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I think it was all staged. I couldn't believe the reactions of those people. I guess this is a culture where ghosts are seen as more real. I mean you would be able to tell the elevator didn't move. Would your first reaction on seeing a little kid with a doll really be one of abject horror? In Canada and the US, the pranksters would never get away with it, because they would be sued. If this wasn't all a put on. Quote
wyly Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 i would think I wouldn't panic but without being there it's hard to say....we can all be startled by someone coming up from behind but we know that can happen, does that change in an elevator where we know absolutely we are alone and that it can't happen? Guest Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) I'm surprised they would put a kid in that situation. What if someone panicked and assaulted her? Edited December 3, 2012 by bcsapper Quote

If this wasn't all a put on. The pranksters would probably be sued in Canada and the US. Would your first reaction on seeing a little kid with a doll really be one of abject horror? If you were in an elevator by yourself it would definitely be surprising to see someone else there even if it were a regularly dressed person. A kid in costume that reflects a societal concept of a ghost would be frightening to most I think. Quote I want to be in the class that ensures the classless society remains classless.
Pliny Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 I'm surprised they would a kid in that situation. What if someone panicked and assaulted her? You can't assault a ghost that would be futile - at least I think most people would feel that way and just shrink away. sharkman Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Yes the prank goes way too far. Scaring people like that is really unhealthy and can actually cause heart attacks, never mind that the person could feak out and whallop the poor kid. Quote
The_Squid Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 That "ghost" would have received a punch to the face if I was in the elevator! Child abuse? Quote

Spiderfish Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Cruel...yes. Funny...definitely. I hope they had EMS on stand-by just in case. Quote

Guest Peeves Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 A bit over the top I think.Too much chance of unintended consequences. Quote

betsy Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Someone could've had a heart attack. And someone could even take a swipe at the kid! And definitely, someone will get sued. I think it's staged. Especially with the older ladies. I think I caught a smile on one of the two elderlies. Check it out again....the one on the left side sort of smiled as she was glancing back at the child. Quote

Oh you never know. If you're trapped in a confined space, you just might lash out. What more if you're frightened out of your wits, boy that kid would've ended up really dead before someone could come to her rescue. It's the unexpected reactions that could be really scary. wyly Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 maybe it was all setup, the stupidity of putting a child at risk does seem obvious to everyone here... Quote “Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives.”- John Stuart Mill
Pliny Posted December 7, 2012 Author Report Posted December 7, 2012 maybe it was all setup, the stupidity of putting a child at risk does seem obvious to everyone here... Well that's conjecture. But a consensus will make it true. Do we have a consensus? Quote I want to be in the class that ensures the classless society remains classless.
Bonam Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 It's a fake. Notice how many camera angles are in the videos. No elevator is equipped with that many hidden security cameras, and people would notice if there were that many cameras pointed at them in an elevator. Quote

The elevator had fake walls and see through mirrors, I think. It may not have even been an elevator at all. Quote I want to be in the class that ensures the classless society remains classless.
