christians always attack muslims and atheists. Strange

It's quite bizarre that when atheists speak against religion it's almost always referring to the Christian religion. I never hear them speak out against the Muslim or Jewish Holidays but always the Christian ones. This is terrible. It is the atheist true agenda.

I think the anti God people are more fanatical then people who believe in God. Did you know that in many Islamic countries just saying that God doesn't exist is punishable by death(beheading)?

Strange how many people attack Christianity but refrain from attacking Islam, I wonder why that is....hrm....

Christianity was not mentioned, Islam was not mentioned. Maybe show us a magic trick Merlin?

We need to keep this in context here fellas. We have to keep an eye on the Islamic countries and those countries who are soft on Islamic countries. They have death penalties for crimes that aren't very severe. This is the level of fanaticism that isn't welcome in Canada.

Atheists always attack Christianity instead of Islam. Strange.

I find it interesting that so many atheists are seemingly obsessed with the Bible.

The Atheists are obsessed with Christianity but have no criticism of Islam which has far worse practices in today's world....very strange.

The threads on Christianity on this forum greatly outnumber those critical of Islam started by non believers. islam is executing homosexuals and stoning women everyday yet not a peep from the left wing atheists about it.

Two posters have never held similar view points on certain issues before on this forum? Amazing!

Some ppl here seem to be obsessed with this member called Mr Canada. I have never seen him post but have read some of his posts and I disagree with him on a lot of topics plus I live in Toronto and he didn't. I am disabled and he isn't. We're not the same person, please stop saying this.

This is all taking away from the issue of why the atheists never seem to openly attack Islam. Are they afraid to?

That's not the issue. That's not the topic of the thread. If you would like to discuss that topic, go create a new thread.

You claim you are disabled, but I somehow do not think it is a physical disability.

I posted this in another thread, but this is such a great explanation of atheism that I think it needs its own thread. There are so many misconceptions and false information about the nature of atheism. This video does a wonderful job of explaining it well and addressing many of the problems, such as "otherwise reputable dictionaries" even getting it wrong.

That must mean, you didn't get it. rolleyes.gif

That guy just looped and spinned things around you - but bottomline, nothing has changed.

Atheism = belief that there are no gods/Gods. You can say, "well....there's a difference. Knowing and believing."

Yeah, right.

If you know God exists..... and you still don't believe? DUH! Does that makes any sense at all?

OR if I know God doesn't exists, and I still believe? DUH! Does that makes any sense at all?

If you believe there is no God or gods, you are an atheist!

If you are not sure God exists or not....but you still believe that there is no God, then you are still an atheist!

If you say you believe there is no God - as in God with a CAPITAL "G" - but you're not sure about other deities or gods, then you are an agnostic!

If you are not sure God exists or not....but you think there is no God.....then that smells like you're on shakey ground!

If you say I'm only 98% sure there is no God, or gods.....then that smells like you're on shakey ground!

You could come out and declare yourself an agnostic tomorrow.

If you have a different definition for gods and dieties, well that changes the whole dynamics, doesn't it? Maybe we're not talking about the same thing at all!

Nuff said. You guys make it sound so complicated. All this drama about nothing! dry.png

It's only complicated for those who are simple minded and cannot explore other options. We have entertained you long enough to know exactly what you are capable of thinking. I notice you don't reply directly to me anymore. What are you afraid of?

Not a bad video. He obviously believes he is somewhere in the physical universe, in a galaxy known as the Milky Way in a solar system with a planet locally known as Earth and appears to be what is termed a human being. Since a greater percentage of human beings agree with this it can be determined by him to be fact but he does need that other guy or else it would just remain a belief.

Does this then mean that, since his perceptions need verification from another for confirmation, the person you agree with is God? And conversely are you a God, or at least minimally the Son of God, to the person who agrees with you? But since human beings can't have that title they are just relegated to being Prophets or Priests or scientists, or whoever, at the time we can agree with so we can keep our sanity.

Prophets or Priests or scientists,

One of these professions doesn't belong....

There is the scientific method. That is lightyears ahead of a prophet, who gets direction directly from the heavens, or a priest, who gets direction from a book they believe to have been written from a being in the heavens.

We no longer need to be superstitious.... we know what the sun is.... we know why it gets dark... we know where we came from and how (for the most part)... Oftentimes these discoveries were buried and the scientists who discovered them were persecuted by religious leaders because it was a perceived threat to their dogma.

Aside from the obvious fact that this is not the Muslim-bashing thread, we should not "keep an eye on the Islamic countries," we should leave them alone and stop trying to control the oil-supplying ones for the benefit of our oil industry. Whatever they're doing in their countries, let them decide how to deal with it themselves and stop meddling!

yup, meddling is why we have all the terrorist activity today...let them work out their own problems, let them choose their own governments...
