No, however citizens should be vigilant and suspicious of the government and by extension their security apparatus.

But at the same time you should trust your security apparatus. For example do you trust the CF to uphold democracy? Meaning do you believe that its likely a General will overthrow the government and create a dictatorship?

The military just lied to Canadians and the government about the fighter jet..

VERY good point... And the Liberals did not take it into consideration for the Submarines purchased from Britain..

Actually I am, they used the exact same method of calculation for the new ships for the navy yet no one bothered to complain.

I'm not talking about the calculations. I am talking about them having 2 sets of figures and only sharing the lowest one.

They have internal budget and have external budget, they give the one that was requested.

They have a budget for themselves that includes expenses that would normally not be included in the purchasing budget because those epexnses will be the same regardless of the product purchased. The salary of the pilots and aircrew will not change the budget that much...

They work for the government they do as their employer tells them, otherwise they find another job. Every competent employer follows the exact same policy.

Do you know who their employer is? Canadians. That's who. It's the Government of Canada, regardless of the egomaniac that wants it named after himself.

We were in Iraq??!?!?! This must have been a covert mission!!!!!!! Where is the Transparency!!?!?!?!

How many did we lose in Iraq?

What about the Chretien government and military lying to us about not getting involved in the Iraq war and we ended up doing more for that war than 95 % of the coalition of the willing

Yeah, so? Are they to take orders from 33million people? We have a government for a reason, to take care of the day to day running of the country. We elect that government for a reason to represent the wishes of the people.

We don't elect the government. We elect representatives in the House. The government is appointed by the monarch.

MP's are the government, I don't care about the fancy definition, it comes down to us electing our representatives and they pass down decisions based on our wishes.

It's another aspect of fascism where the government must control the message, totally and absolutely in all areas of society. As an employee you are duty-bound to always support the message, even if you disagree. Anyone who is off-message will be punished, their livelihood taken away from them.

It relates in a similar way to how this government wants to shut down the exchange of information amongst the scientific community. They must always stay on message, even if scientific evidence shows it to be false. Else they lose their funding.

No one can convince me that this is good governance, or that this government is open and honest. The only good news is that this awareness is rising in public perception. The Harper government will most likely not be re-elected. All the liberal/ndp need to do is present something reasonable, and they'll have plenty of political ammunition to take this government down.

Make sure you tell 'em that at your next job interview.

You laugh of course. But that's because you can't understand what I said. You see, most dogs run in packs, and soon learn the benefits of sniffing ass.

I however would not work for an abusive or unethical employer. I would rather walk out on them and work for honest people, even if it means making less. If everyone took the attitude to stand up and fight for their rights, instead of licking ass for the money, this wouldn't be a problem any more.

Why do you continually feel the need to make these nit picking and irrelevant remarks? They add nothing but frustration, is trolling ok?

No, they provide clarity. We don't elect governments in Canada, or indeed, in any parliamentary system.
