Topaz Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Here's an article about a US man, that went from a $150,000 year job, and ended up at Starbucks. He's one of the lucky one to even find a job but this is what's happpening to North American, with 8 million unemployed in the US and 1-2 Mil in Canada. http://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/former-currency-strategist-went-150k-144400234.html Quote

Boges Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Coffee snobs. Point is, in Canada anyway, Service sector jobs are a plenty. Not ideal work but no one can really claim there is no work out there. Quote

There are plenty of jobs in "North American", but not for whiners who think they will get back on the same gravy train. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Boges Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) Are you ready to defend this theory of yours? Sure, walk into Tim Hortons and see if they are offering application forms that offer competitive wages and flexible hours. I always see it. http://www.timhortons.com/ca/en/join/team.html Recently McDonalds had a hiring blitz across Canada. Now these are jobs that would be good for non-breadwinners or the type of student that's bitching about their tuition in Quebec. Not a guy with a huge mortgage and an appetite for $200 dinners, but those jobs are rare for a reason. Edited May 2, 2012 by Boges Quote
