He also trails Obama badly among Hispanics, which is an increasingly important segment. And of course he also needs to increase his enthusiasm from the religious conservatives that make up "the base" of Republican support who aren't sure about Romney's Christian or pro-life credentials. It seems likely that they will choose a VP candidate who will help shore up these areas. That is my point Veeps lose elections. There are no elections I can think of where the VP pick helped the guy running win. Quote

It turned out that she was a bad choice, but she was a unique pick, a gamble to help raise McCain's numbers - and the McCain campaign would not have done that if VP's didn't offer anything to the ticket; and had she been what they had hoped she was, she may very well have pulled it off. She isn't the only example of how Veeps lose elections, Eagleton is another great example of a VP pick who sunk the ship before it even left port. Quote

Palin was amazing and Americans loved her. She never stumbled or hurt McCain at all. They lost it again once people started realizing what a blooming idiot she is, but it's clear that picking her as VP boosted the Republicans back into the race for a while. And picking the right VP candidate could provide a lot of help for Mitt Romney. If the right VP candidate existed. It's no wonder that her and Steve Schmidt continue to try to cover their asses even to this day. Fortunately, they'll never be allowed anywhere close to any general election campaign for the rest of their lives. They were a complete disaster. Quote

He was also instrumental in their very poorly planned campaign strategy. Anyways, back to the Veepstakes... The media will not leave Rubio alone about VP, even though he's stated over and over that he wouldn't accept it. Quote
