They are clearly the natural progression of the CF-18 Hornet, just as the Hornet was the progression of the Voodoo and Starfighter, and those aircraft the progression of the Canuck and Sabre, and those aircraft the progression of the Mustang and Spitfire.

And just as these past aircraft are no longer viable, our Hornets are rapidly approaching the end of their viability.
