bush_cheney2004 Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 you're not going to get many people to agree with you by saying americans care more about hockey than canadians Quite to the contrary, as I have already stated that Americans care less. But even as a 2nd tier sport, the US still has more hockey teams and facilities at all levels because of population size, and the upside growth potential is greater than in Canada. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
j44 Posted March 22, 2012 Author Report Posted March 22, 2012 Maybe that's why Nascar is more popular than hockey in the U.S...they watch college/university hockey and think oh this must be what hockey is like everywhere! OHL & WHL & QMJHL are pretty intense leagues.. where most of the top draft picks come from.. barely any top players are drafted from colege/university but like I said there are a few I think that might have something to do with age. A lot of players are getting scouted very, very early and teams want to grab them when they are still young. More and more are getting in the NHL at 18 and that is when they would just be heading to university. Quote
Black Dog Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Nugent hopkins has not had any impact to his offence due to repsonisbilyt, it is because he has missed a bunch of games due to injury. Um I know that. But since he came back he's been taking more d zone faceoffs and playing against higher r level of competition. Black Dog Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 you're not going to get many people to agree with you by saying americans care more about hockey than canadians Dude you are getting trolled by an epic troll. See, only a troll would cry about fighting being the reason hockey will never be popular in the States when Americans's appetite for hockey fights is pretty much insatiable. j44 Posted March 23, 2012 Author Report Posted March 23, 2012 OK, so who thinks Keith should get more than 3 games (or more than 5) for that elbow? and who thinks that Sedin should get something for his earlier hit on Keith? I'm a hawks fan so I want somewhat unbiased opinions. If you are a Van. fan will you burn the city down if you are unhappy with the suspension? Quote
The_Squid Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 Should have been 10 games. Quote Science flies you to the moon, Religion flies you into buildings.
j44 Posted March 24, 2012 Author Report Posted March 24, 2012 Should have been 10 games. For a first offense? They don't even have 10 games left in the season. Are you a Canucks fan? Lol Quote
stopstaaron Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 Shanahan doesn't know what he's doing, he'll give a 3rd time offender 2 games, and a first time offender 5 ...okay shanny, i know your job is tough but you are a liar, you're like obama, saying you're going to change things but you're the exact same guy as the guy before you Quote Don't ban me bro. Oh behave, I'll behave. I'll be a good little boy.
j44 Posted March 24, 2012 Author Report Posted March 24, 2012 Huh? I think he weighs more than just the number of offenses. I thought he did change it a bit by how many suspensions he handed down Also, it's hard to change such a large organization single handedly. Quote
The_Squid Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 A head shot like that should start at 10 and go up from there. Quote Science flies you to the moon, Religion flies you into buildings.

bush_cheney2004 Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 We are entering the last week of the regular season ... Great...that means the real hockey season can begin, and last until June when we have the best ice. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
stopstaaron Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Great...that means the real hockey season can begin, and last until June when we have the best ice. True statement except for the best ice comment Quote Don't ban me bro. Oh behave, I'll behave. I'll be a good little boy.
j44 Posted April 7, 2012 Author Report Posted April 7, 2012 Last day or the Reg season. Every team is in action and the Hawks are playing the wings. One of my favorite times of the year. Who wants to pick the final four playing for conference titles? Quote
stopstaaron Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Penguins vs Bruins Blues vs Canucks Quote Don't ban me bro. Oh behave, I'll behave. I'll be a good little boy.
j44 Posted April 7, 2012 Author Report Posted April 7, 2012 I think the Preds could be there. I'd like to see the Hawks there but it might be the Blues. I'd love to see the Canucks knocked out ASAP. Don't want the Bruins to go far either. Rangers could go far if Henrik plays well. Pens will be there but I'd love for the Sens to make a run. Quote

kimmy Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 New York Rangers vs Ottawa Senators Boston Bruins vs Washington Capitals Florida Panthers vs New Jersey Devils Pittsburgh Penguins vs Philadelphia Flyers Vancouver Canucks vs Los Angeles Kings St Louis Blues vs San Jose Sharks Phoenix Coyotes vs Chicago Blackhawks Nashville Predators vs Detroit Red Wings Going up against the wrong goalie in a playoff series is always scary, and Jonathan Quick might be the wrong goalie. But I think the Canucks will escape the first round. The Kings have a lot of trouble scoring, and the Canucks are a hard team to score against. I picked Ottawa more with my heart than my head. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
Black Dog Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Oilers win the draft lottery. First time a team has picked #1 three times in a row since the Nordiques IIRC. Consensus #1 pick is Nail Yakupov out of Sarnia, a dynamic Russian scorer who has garnered comparisons to Ovechkin. Should be another interesting offseason in Oil Country. Black Dog Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 As for the playoffs, I don't have a dog in this race, so I don't really care. Anybody but Vancouver, I guess.
