bush_cheney2004 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 You don't like the NHL cause its dominated by Canadians If you mean physical violence, you're right...they make it suck! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 What gets me is why do people who don't watch hockey complain about facets of the game? bugger off Girls high school hockey is better than the NHL. Bugger that. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
stopstaaron Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 If you mean physical violence, you're right...they make it suck! Are you saying NFL sucks? MMA? Quote Don't ban me bro. Oh behave, I'll behave. I'll be a good little boy.

stopstaaron Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 (edited) No, I'm saying NHL hockey with sanctioned fighting SUCKS! bush_cheney2004 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 what about team sanctioned incentives for injuring opponents that has been rampantly used lately in the nfl? A clear violation of NFL rules and an investigation is underway. The NHL officially sanctions violence and specific goon play to sell more tickets. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

bush_cheney2004 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 no, you get a 5 min major and if you fight 3 times in a game you get a game misconduct Big deal....you get to rest up for the next fight. What a frinkin' joke! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

stopstaaron Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) um wtf was duncan keith thinking of when he elbowed daniel sedin like that? suspend him for the rest of the season plus the first round though shanny will likely just give him 5 games according to the comments sedin hit keith up high 30 seconds earlier Edited March 22, 2012 by stopstaaron Quote Don't ban me bro. That's funny, eh! BTW, the NFL started handing down serious punishment for bounty hunting by the Saints, starting with a ONE YEAR suspension of the head coach. stopstaaron Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 BTW, the NFL started handing down serious punishment for bounty hunting by the Saints, starting with a ONE YEAR suspension of the head coach. 1 year is weak sauce, should have been for life Quote Don't ban me bro. bush_cheney2004 Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 1 year is weak sauce, should have been for life Todd Bertuzzi didn't get life. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
stopstaaron Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) Todd Bertuzzi didn't get life. That is an entirely different situation. Moore was targeting the captain Markus Naslund and gave him a concussion. Moore was a head hunter. Bertuzzi tried fighting Moore as did other players but he wouldn't go. Bertuzzi lost control and suckered Moore and then pushed his face into the ice. Moore got exactly what he deserved. You don't purposely take out the other teams heart and soul on purpose and then back down when the piper comes calling. Meanwhile the NFL coach awarded players who took out ANYBODY. no personal grudges necessary. nobody would have to have been done wrong for the player to be taken out. Bertuzzi should be in prison. At least the civil suit will proceed this year. Sue his ass off and the coaches too. Moore got exactly what he deserved. You don't purposely take out the other teams heart and soul on purpose and then back down when the piper comes calling. Of course not, especially in a league that sanctions violence and blood sport. Meanwhile the NFL coach awarded players who took out ANYBODY. no personal grudges necessary. nobody would have to have been done wrong for the player to be taken out. This does not help your position at all. The NFL does not approve of any "piper come calling". Edited March 22, 2012 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

If they do, they are ejected from the game and fined. but yeah, hockey is a mans sport and if you do something that is seen as a sin you're going to have to answer the bell..no matter who it is. and that's what separates hockey from the other sports. you can't get away with cheap plays without being held responsible Not the crap we see in the NHL....plenty of good "man sport" hockey is available elsewhere. thought you were all about taking responsibility for your actions? I couldn't be bothered with those jackasses on skates wasting my time and money by fighting during a game. Save that crap until the game is over for those who want to see it. Gretzky didn't really leave, he coached.. was bad at it, now he does other things like trying to keep his daughter from getting pregnant and thus getting her own reality show btw Gretzkys only the best cause he had players all around him ready to protect him.. nobody messed with wayne, they knew they'd get their asses kicked if they did Edited March 22, 2012 by stopstaaron Quote Don't ban me bro. Maybe if you had more people and less fighting? stopstaaron Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 More hockey is played in the United States than in Canada for obvious reasons. And they can watch NASCAR too. America can have both. I don't know about that. Mostly every small town in Canada has a rink. I don't think you can say that with any confidence in the U.S. You have 23 more NHL teams for now..but you don't have more hockey teams in general Btw the only two college players drafted in the top 10 since 2003 were Toews & Kessel Quote Don't ban me bro. I think there are more teams in the USA because of the larger population. The NHL has no real national television contract in the USA, and it shows. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
