That 'Old Republic' looks interesting...seen a few ads. I replaced the vanilla Oblivion's leveling system quite some time ago. There's dozens of leveling mods of different stripes available now. DogOnPorch Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Bonam, one way you might be able to figure out if you have a bottleneck is to get into the console commands. Try hitting the ~ key then typing tlb (toggle light bright)...this should remove all the fancy shaders and shadows...if your mouse issue goes away, you've found the problem. MiddleClassCentrist Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 The PC version of Oblivion with both the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Islands? If so, you have one of the best programs for adding literally thousands of great adventures...EVER. If you have the console version...oh, well...out o' luck...lol. http://www.tesnexus.com/index.php check the top 100 Remember, Oblivion shipped with a stunted .exe in order to get a better rating (was Adult...now Mature, I think). The Nerd-Gnomes cracked that quite some time ago. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37952 With that, Oblivion regains its intended functionality. Most detailed add-ons need it. Skyrim is at least 6 years from getting to the level of development that Oblivion has reached. Yeah, I got it for PC. I use consoles things like racing games, adventure (simple) games, quick/fast games. Nothing complex. PC for games that have any depth in story or required control ability. RPG's, RTS, FPS, MMO's (even though I haven't played an mmo in forever) Thanks for the links. I had downloaded OOO and installed it but then I read suggestions to play vanilla first and figure out what I wanted to change to make the experience better. So I installed a bunch of graphics updates, functionality improvements and am going to play through vanilla first. My computer isn't top of the line or anything. So I prefer being able to play slightly older games at high graphics/resolution settings, they way they were meant to be played. In TES games, you can win by using obstacles to jump away/use the environment to your advantage and any lag can screw up what would have been a perfect manoeuvre. I use this one all the time. If realism is what you're after this will change the way you approach the game as food, drink, sleep and fatigue are all tied together. So if you fight or run a lot, you'll drain your fatigue bar easier (in vanilla Oblivion, the fatigue system is porked). You'll also need regular sleep and the more you drain your fatigue bar to the bottom (it will say: You're exhausted.) the more sleep you'll need to recover. Well thought out. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24079 Since you might need to camp in the woods for the night, I also recommend this... http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5684 There are thousands of mods to choose from...some can turn your game into a slide show. I'm in the same boat as you...need a bigger computer...lol...but those two won't bother your frame rates at all. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

DogOnPorch Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 btw, MidClassCet, if you're using OBSE 20, make sure you launch Oblivion using it with admin permission rather than the Oblivion.exe. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

I actually like their coffee, same supplier as Tim's (Mother Parker's). Anyways, the guy at the cash register mutters something off. Cashier - "I can't believe that I have to wait over a year!" Me - "Excuse me?" Cashier "Yeah, they are making me wait a year for it!" Me - (Silent, don't know what to say, I ordered a coffee...) Cashier - "They are putting frickin PANDA'S into the game and I have to wait a year!" Me - "Oh, you mean World of Warcraft. Yeah, I saw that expansion announced" Cashier - "What am I going to do until then? I've already played through Cataclysm" Me - "You could try other games, there are lots of good ones" Cashier - "I've tried a few. LOTRO, Guild Wars, Oblivion... keeps listing off games...
