I find it amusing that people who live in Canada and enjoy our freedoms cheerlead those countries that surpress said freedoms. They love it, and thats why they paid for it. Theres nothing potential US adversaries like to see more than the US running gigantic budget defecits maintaining a military presense all around the world. If China had its way the US would put 500 thousand troops in Australia, and 100 thousand troops in ant-artica as well.

The Chinese only own a trillion of USA debt. Average Americans still own more. And no they don't want one of the most efficient militaries in history in close proximity, they wouldn't want to spent a trillion dollars funding a potential threat. I'm sure china wouldn't appreciate losing a trillion dollars if the USA decided to default.

I would not discount the Russians that easily. And sure China may have crappy ships, but being the ones who mass produce almost everythying we buy, they can pump ships out without problem.

In that regard, nothing has changed since the Cold War. The West never matched the Warsaw Pact for quantity. It was always about Western quality vs Soviet quantity.

Yes they do. Thats exactly what they want. Anybody that wants to see the end of US global dominance is absolutely thrilled to see the US running 1/2 trillion dollar defecits, and trying to maintain hundreds of military bases around the world that serve no purpose, and pay hundreds of thousands of soldiers to sit there do nothing.

China sure has. They have all sorts of stealth ships, a soon to be air craft carrier, and their new stealth fighter was tested this year. They hace come a very long way. China had one of their stealth missile cruisers off the Libyan coast when all that went down. They just came to say .. HERROOOWW !!!!

Their “stealth frigates” are knock offs based on the French La Fayette class, the pinnacle of the late 80s and early 90s…………And do you know who originally built their now commissioned aircraft carrier? She was laid down during the Gorbachev regime.....Yes, the Chinese have an aircraft carrier, with no prior experience operating one, and the inherent doctrine to defend and utilize one……….Hey China, welcome to the 1930s...
