socialist
It's not even "nearbye"... Your geographical cluelessness is duely noted... Do you have a grasp of tribal issues and differences? Nearby, or nearbye like you said. I see your spelling is lacking too. Cluelessness is not an actual word. And, finally, duely is properly spelled duly. Guess I'm not the only illiterate one here. As for tribal issues, I have an excellent grasp.

The probalem with the Burkina Faso is that, while claiming to be independent, wants coloial "closeness with it's French benefactors...It keeps the status quo the same through tribal influence... This should be obvious to anyone who keeps tabs on all things "African"...

bleeding heart
What are you doing to combat climate change. Let's discuss a real issue. socialist, you're flying all over the place, demanding answers to several questions, and with a pretty distinct authoritarian flair. Further, it seems that you will then determine, based on the answers to the questions, on whether another poster (here, Jack) holds to the "correct" view. You can find lots of lefty sympathy here--you'll even get some union sympathy from Jack, plus his willingness to critique rapacious Western power when he thinks it deserved--which is often. But citing the Chinese? Please. Even given that there are good things about China--it's not some font of pure evil, after all--I can't understand your defense. At least the old lefty comrades had the excuse of ignorance, when China was "The ChiComs." But it's now morphed into a weird hybrid, a right-wing authoritarian state as much as a left-wing one. Also, capitalism isn't "evil." It can produce evil, if not regulated and carefully watched. More to the point--and this is a friendly suggestion--just be a little less on the attack, and listen to people. You're not surrounded by enemies, despite what Lenin might have ordered people to think. (Until it eventually becomes true, in a self-fulfilling prophecy.) Michael Hardner
Also, capitalism isn't "evil." It can produce evil, if not regulated and carefully watched. We beat capitalism, in the 1930s and 1960s and used democracy to force a minimal safety net. Our open society allowed this to happen, and we created a hybrid through a lot of elections and a lot of arguments. The closed system that opposed capitalism was instantiated in a few countries: those who were closed fell and became today's Russia, North Korea... and some of the others opened up a little and have continued. Yes and no... True, the Soviet Union collapsed because,as history has made it apparent,no centrally planned economy will ever survive in any form of a Capitalistic environment...North Korea being one of the last Marxist hold outs... The Chinese were smart,however...The Chinese, under Deng Xiaoping, realized the failed nature of the Soviet system. And being already authoritarian, they simply mixed in a little "market based economic decision making" and opened things up (a little). This has allowed them to "continue"...By that,I maen the Chinese have remained authoritarian but have allowed a creeping Capitalism and Corporatism into thier politics. In fact, one could easily make the case that the current version of China no longer resembles Chairman Mao's vision for that country, but Benito Mussolini's ( or even General Francisco Franco's) vision of Fascism!!!
