More Conservative thuggery...Liberal supporters property attacked

Recommended Posts

Toronto resident Joanne Mills woke up Good Friday morning to find four tires slashed on the family car and made the decision to remove the Liberal sign from the family’s front lawn.

It made her angry to take down her support for Liberal MP Carolyn Bennett in St. Paul’s but she told the Star Friday she’s scared.

“I had to. I can’t risk being afraid for my family,” Mills said. “In Canada you shouldn’t have to worry about lawn signs for a political party and it makes me furious.

“I attribute this to Stephen Harper’s attack ads that make people think this kind of behaviour is acceptable.”

Police from 53 Division are investigating 16 cases of cars with slashed tires and scratched paint in the area and have asked the public for help in the investigation. They said cars had their tires slashed and paint defaced between 10 and 11 p.m. Thursday night.

Mills, who has two children still at home, found her tires slashed when she went out around 9 a.m. Friday to drive her husband to the subway station. She called police, as well as Liberal headquarters in St. Paul’s, a swath of the city around Eglinton Ave. that runs from Bathurst St. to Mount Pleasant Rd.

Bennett campaign manager Lynne Steele said that one resident with slashed tires reported a neighbour yelled at her: “Vote Conservative. It wouldn’t have happened.”

Steele added there were at least two cases of cars with all four tires slashed. Some residents reported having an “L” scratched into the paint.

More Voter intimidation by Harper's goon squad ....

Story here

Give it a rest, Rick! There have been Tory and NDP signs vandalized. It's been happening since we've HAD election signs! 999 times out of a thousand the party accused had nothing to do with it. Some over-righteous neanderthal of a private citizen has a few two many brewskis and decides he personally is going to do the world a favour. 999 times out of a thousand that private citizen is really just a nobody trying to make himself look important, as some kind of partisan ninja, singlehandedly changing the results of the ballot by his actions!

Surely you can do better than these posts! Really, they are so "high school"!

I've yet to meet an NDP supporter who is so full of hate as to do something like that. CPC supporters on the other hand....

LOL. I'm pretty sure that their is no proof any supporters doing this. Tories are strong supporters of law and order while the socialist types are members of the black bloc.

Oh okay that's good to know. Your testimonial about the NDP supporters you know really makes all the difference.

Come to the downtown area of Guelph and meet some of the NDP wack jobs here. Those ARE the type of people who wreck signs and slash tires. Probably about 50% of the Marty Burke (CPC candidate) signs have been vandalized and although nothing has come up this year, people were getting their tires slashed in Guelph last election.

I think it's far more likely the unemployed and bored NDP wackos are out there causing mischief than the CPC.

As a side note, does anyone else think it's absolutely hilarious that the Toronto Star even published this article? I mean this crap goes on everywhere but the Toronto Star, being the loyal Liberal hack newspaper it is, somehow decides this is unique and newsworthy?

Come on....

...Keep making excuses in a weak attempt to deflect the truth away from them knowing full well that it's no secret that the Harper Conservatives are behind these intimdation tactics.

Just look at the way the Conservatives have tried to use intimdation tactics throughout Harper's reign of terror...

Uhm I'd be looking at the NDP supporters. The Tories have almost zero chance of winning in much of the 416 while the NDP are in tight races all over the city.

In St. Paul's the NDP the NDP has always been third. It has always been a race between Cons and Liberals. However you want my beat? This was kids who don't give two fu*ks about the election doing this.

So why are only Conservative signs getting vandalized in Guelph?

What sort of intimidation tactics? Are you sure you're not completely making this up????

Rick this is so dumb you're really making me laugh! Keep it up I'm really entertained!!

Chretien sent the RCMP to raid the home of a troublesome and embarrassing public servant he had ordered cashiered. The mounties spent four million dollars in trying to persuade the Quebec crown to arrest the guy and put him away, to no avail. A judge in the man's lawsuit later called the RCMP behaviour outrageous, and the way the government treated the man "an unspeakable injustice"

Why don't you tell me, Liberal supporter, what Harper has done to compare to that.

Bingo.....and of course there's always OCAP......and lets not forget all of those "non-violent" union protests and picket lines. It's plain to see that anger, frustration and vitiole comes from the Left. Sarcasm and dismissal and perhaps a lot of ridicule have been coming from the Conservative voices over the past several years.

I hate to break it to you Scotty but Chretien's not running for public office.

Really, you Conservatives should try and move past the worn out "but the Liberals did so and so when they were in power" excuse for your party's disgraceful record of their own.

Remember, Harper promised to be better than they were..and he has failed Canadians miserably.

(Btw...don't mistake my loathing for what Harper's fascist thugs stand for as being supportive of Iggy's Liberals. Jack's got my vote so you're barking up the wrong tree there pal)

You are funny.

Scotty gave you an example where Harper is a universe better than Liberals in this aspect, but you are still repeating your mantras. With no facts.

Your partisan delusions are duly noted ;)

And dismissed as one more example of how you Conservatives can't move past being held accountable for your own disgraceful record.

I really am impressed with Layton's plan (if PM) to hire 1000 doctors in the first 100 hundred days in office. The thing that really impressed me about his plan is that, since there aren't 1000 unemployed (or likely 100) doctors he must have a new educational policy for MDs to churn out 900 or 1000 doctors in 100 days. In the event that hell freezes over, the Grand canyon overflows it's banks, the sun rises in the east and Jack Layton is elected to become PM I will not be changing doctors to one of the new 100 day wonders

I can't quite remember the CPC adscam thing--- can anyone educate me on this?

just imagine, with the sneaky policies of the Liberal party, a ProLib card carrier hatching a plan to make the CPC look bad by allegedly slashing her own tires- COULD HAPPEN--- Iggy is so far in the soup he's likely feeling glad there only 10 days left till the election. With that limited time left he likely won't drag the LPC lower than 10% which will place him at least ablve the Que-traitor-bloc and well ahead of the Greenies

Your posting is a brilliant example of your infant-like logic and your rabid attempts to convince people of things they don't agree with you about. Shouldn't you be starting another topic about something equally idiotic right now?
