Oleg Bach
Forget all the dis-honest rehtoricals about supporting rebels in Libya...we are not interested in human rights..we are interested in resourses...put the cards on the table and make a proposal. Ask what benefit Khadaffi grants them. Then_ better the deal. All of this posturing and sneaking about is a waste of time...Tell the new potential Libian dictators who ever they might turn out to be............."We will buy your oil at a fair price" This bargain shopping by our oil merchants is not profitable...and it is highly immoral - Be honest and make a proper deal. They dispise the west when it comes to the lack of fair trade. Our oil merchants take great glee in getting something for nothing - especally through force - a force that the tax payer pays for while only they truely benefit. wolfd
We do not buy oil from Libya. That could change very quickly if we can get a good price and stable supply out of Libya. Edited April 10, 2011 by wolfd
Moonlight Graham
That could change very quickly if we can get a good price and stable supply out of Libya. Exactly. If we aren't supplied oil from Libya, wouldn't that be a great reason to attack the old regime? Many European and NATO countries DO get oil from Libya, and Gaddafi has in recent times threatened to cut off oil access to Western countries. But not Russia and China of course! Then buy from those willing to do business. Screw Gaddafi by not buying his oil. Russia and China will both sell it for cheaper. Saipan
Then buy from those willing to do business. Screw Gaddafi by not buying his oil. Russia and China will both sell it for cheaper. China doesn't export oil, they import. We buy oil on world market at world prices like everyone else. There were few pinkos who thought we go to Iraq "for oil". If that was so then those who went there would pay less. But that is not what happen. It's WORLD MARKET..
