GWiz Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 So Stephen Harper is paying off all the media executives? Pretty much, as long as their name ends in "CORPORATION" (or any derivative thereof)... cybercoma Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 plain and simple over the top Conservative strong arm tactics which backfired. It's Conservatives trying to avoid answering questions again. This seems to be the status quo with them that people really aren't driving home. How can a party be fit for the government if they refuse to answer to the people, parliament or media? Stephen Harper wants to run this country, answering to no one. That ought to worry everyone, including Conservative supporters. Quote
cybercoma Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 No, the Harper funded media execs do (CBC included - Harper appointed the BoD)... G, my friend, it was not so long ago that we (maybe not you) were complaining that the media was controlled by the Liberals. Kitten eater, remember? Quote
Harry Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 It does worry voters, and that is why Harper, while still in the lead, is now starting to slide in the polls. Quote

Saipan Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 How can a party be fit for the government if they refuse to answer to the people, parliament or media? Liberals got away with lot more for more than 12 years. Called it "Cabinet Secret". Sue them. Quote
Harry Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) Awish turned down a request to meet with Harper - good on her as obviously it was going to be a Harper trap. She's a smart one. How many student votes will the Conservatives now lose because of these heavy-handed Harper tactics? Student at centre of rally screening furor wants to escape the 'craziness' http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/inside-politics-blog/2011/04/student-at-centre-of-rally-screening-furor-wants-to-escape-the-craziness.html Edited April 9, 2011 by Harry Quote

Harry Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) Very good. It just confirms her real intention. Not that it was any secret. Her real intention is to do well in school. Yea, what a terrible person Awish is for wanting to do that. Edited April 9, 2011 by Harry Quote
Saipan Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Her real intention is to do well in school. So she came to "study" at CPC election meeting Quote

Harry Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) This issue is now turning into a nitemare scenario for Harper. Bye, bye, student votes. YEGmann Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 This issue is now turning into a nitemare scenario for Harper. Bye, bye, student votes. For Harper??! The girl admits she told a lots of different stories. She admitted Tuesday that she volunteered for the NDP's provincial election campaign and took out a membership with the party in 2007, when she was 16 and still in high school. Fast forward to Friday, and new allegations surface in the Twitterverse that Aslam was involved with the NDP in the last federal election and, is an NDP insider. The proof? Her email found is a list serve with other NDP folk related to the 2008 coalition. "Yes, I did volunteer with [the NDP] in the federal campaign," she said. "Did I not tell you that?" She then apologized and said she has been dealing with so many media calls and couldn't keep track of what she said to whom. Quote
scribblet Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Too bad the media aren't doing their jobs, this guy got it http://bcblue.wordpress.com/2011/04/08/nps-libin-on-medias-coverage-of-campaign-rally-removals/ Kevin Libin does a nice run-down on the full-on assault from the Ottawa Press about the “innocent” Conservative rally attendees: 1) Izzy Hirji who the Toronto Star quoted as “peaceful” and “non-partisan” has a history of on-line threats and Green Party protests 2) Awish Aslam who has been taken on her word alone by the media on what happened when she was removed from a Con rally and her stating that she was “Facebook creeped” by the Cons which they deny doing. (See earlier post here on her NDP ties) 3) Joanna MacDonald who was turned away from a Con rally where she wanted to “ask questions” of Harper turned out to be a Sierra Club activist who went to Cancun to embarrass John Baird As always, there’s more to the story - and it's a set up but as usual you all drink the bathwater LOL t is getting a little tiring watching all the mainstream media drinking each other’s bathwater on the story of the poor teen 19 yr. old “student,” Awish Aslam, turfed from a Tory election rally in Guelph. A google search of her name reveals more than 30 pages of stories written about her and the incident in the past five days. Dish up the pablum and a pliant media lap it up. Harry Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 You guys need to get your stories straight. First she was a Liberal plant, as that was so obvious. Now she's an NDP plant. How come you left out the Bloc? She is a political science student, she has pics of Ignatieff and Layton on her facebook and wanted one with Harper. Too bad Harper's pic is not going up and student voters will remember how she was treated by the Conservatives. Quote

scribblet Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Let me guess. She vote Marijuana Party. I bet and I suppose only liberal blogs are to be read or believed - just more media-driven election faux-scandals LMAO The optics are bad of course and are being portrayed negatively as usual, without the whole story. Too bad the narrative doesn't tell the whole story, that some students where there simply to disrupt. I'm pretty sure that if I went to the Count's rally with a "conservative or bust" ( or whatever) T-Shirt I'd be asked to leave. Of course, the CBC's anti-Harper attack dog Milewski et al seize this as a means to undermine Harper. They did of course carry the story of some Liberal candidates campaign sign being defaced but nothing about what these student organizers are really about. Leader Circle Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 You guys need to get your stories straight. First she was a Liberal plant, as that was so obvious. Now she's an NDP plant. How come you left out the Bloc? Not really leaving out the Bloc, they would be included into any Coalition that Ignasty forms. YEGmann Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 What do you think of the competency of a leader who apologizes rather than clearly explain that these were mini-terrorists from the NDP about to seize control of the rally? This has nothing to do to competence. This is about morality and class. Harper demonstrates he has those. Pro-liberal media sunk too deep in their manure, it is beyond their mental capabilities to understand such things. Quote
scribblet Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 What do you think of the competency of a leader who apologizes rather than clearly explain that these were mini-terrorists from the NDP about to seize control of the rally? I think that the optics are bad so he's doing what he can to minimize the bad press. I don't think he nor anyone else thinks that 'mini-terrorists from the NDP about to seize control of the rally' your words of course.
