blueblood Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 Another righty who doesn't read well. I haven't said I want charges. I, like may others on this thread, have pointed out how easy there could be under this bill. Try and keep that straight. BC_chick Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 Agree with most of this. Anyone who thinks there is some sort of alliance between the Liberals and NDP is deluding themselves imo. That was me and I was not talking about an alliance. I mentioned that historically, the NDP have worked well with LPC minority governments in passing legistature whereas the CPC pretty much needs a majority government to get anything done. At this point it's looking like things are headed for a minority government (even though it's a coin toss who will get the most seats) and my point is that a minority government is 'good enough' for LPC and NDP but not so for the CPC. Hope that clears things up for you. Quote It's kind of the worst thing that any humans could be doing at this time in human history. Other than that, it's fine." Bill Nye on Alberta Oil Sands

I think this still assumes an affinity between the LPC and NDP that I'm not sure is there. The LPC has historically been happy to have the NDP support them in minority situations but I'm not sure if they would be as eager to be the 'junior partner' to an NDP minority (and they've generally been clear that they would not form a coalition with the NDP). I don't think they would be so opposed to the NDP as to bring them down right away but I think they might more or less behave the same way they did under the CPC minorities from 2006-2011. Unless what you're saying is that the CPC didn't get anything done in that period; I'm not sure I agree with that. Quote

I suspect he will keep running the ads, and at least part of the strategy behind that is they reckon it will simply turn off a lot of voters, who will just not bother voting, and that works in their favor. On Guard for Thee Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 I wonder what will happen when they focus their attention on the NDP. Hopefully people will have caught on to the BS and they will backfire like the ridiculous ISIS nonsense against Trudeau. What I am wondering is how bad Harper will get beat up in the debates, especially with Tom. Talking point deflections not so effective in that environment. Quote

If there is any BS going on - it's Trudeau's position on C51 - one more reason why voters are leaving the Liberals in droves for the NDP. Edited July 13, 2015 by Keepitsimple Quote Back to Basics
On Guard for Thee Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 No JT will get beaten up in the debates. That'll be hilarious. Harper actually has experience with debates. But it's Mulcair who will do the beating up. And Harper will be at the top of his list. If you've ever watched QP you know how good Tom can be, and how obvious the CPC talking points are usually nothing more than deflections. That'll be the really funny part. Quote
