jbg Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) This story, excerpts below got little coverage, but imagine the outcry if a mosque in Israel were set ablaze? Or in Canada? Or in the U.S.? Synagogue, schools attacked in Tunisia (link) By Tarek Amara Reuters updated 2/1/2011 11:00:42 AM ET 2011-02-01T16:00:42 A synagogue was set on fire in Tunisia overnight and gangs rampaged through schools in the capital on Tuesday, prompting the army to fan out to calm fears of chaos after the revolt that toppled Zine al-Abdine Ben Ali. Major street protests have dried up in Tunisia in recent days, after a reshuffle purged the interim government of most Ben Ali loyalists and appeased public opinion. Michael Hardner Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 It's not unusual for a country to see a rise in ethnic tensions and persecution after a strongman leaves. Yugoslavia's breakup in the 90s was one of these situations. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
GostHacked Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 It's not unusual for a country to see a rise in ethnic tensions and persecution after a strongman leaves. Yugoslavia's breakup in the 90s was one of these situations. That is an important thing to note. It's happened before in other countries where it comes down to something as minor as ethnic differences. (but it's a huge deal to them) Quote

Yugoslavia's breakup in the 90s was one of these situations. It's even less unusual for a country in any kind of difficulty to blame the Jews, or the Zionists, or Israel, for problems. eyeball Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 It's even less unusual for a country in any kind of difficulty to blame the Jews, or the Zionists, or Israel, for problems. What's so strange about people who have been the victims of western-backed dictators being hostile to symbols of western interference in their midst? I think it's safe to say this hostility towards Israel will take at least a generation to subside. How long it might take to subside towards the west is anyone's guess. Oleg Bach Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 One thing that I learned during the five year litigation against a Jewish govermental agency...in the end the so called all powerful conspiratorial "Jews" we really not in control...It was an old anglo elite that ran the show...as for Tunisia...some one is sicking the common stupid person on the "Jews" in order to cover up for their own crimminal activity...this is old news . Jews have been used for scape goats and tossing them under a bus to hide your own evil is typical...To bad people have not figured out this system. AS Bush Cheney once said in satire..."It's the Joooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos " When one group is signaled out as the cuprit it is usually someone esle covering up their own evil act -Muslims have come in handy for corrupt and sinister powerful Americans....They love to piss them off and have them act badly - Then they can say - "Look - it was those Muslim terrorists that did it!" Meanwhile they are tacitly committing all sorts of oppressive greedy crimminal acts themselves..............Tired of this Jew and Muslim thing - when our enemy lives in our own house. Quote

DogOnPorch Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 No. I said it's natural to expect that Israel will be a target of hostility. Yes after what Israel did to Tunisia...no doubt. What did they do again? Oh yeah...exist. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
jbg Posted March 1, 2011 Author Report Posted March 1, 2011 No. I said it's natural to expect that Israel will be a target of hostility. A Tunisian synagogue is not Israel. eyeball Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 A Tunisian synagogue is not Israel. What was torched has been part of the community for centuries. It's not my fault ancient religious tensions have been exacerbated by modern geo-politics and the unethical pursuit of strategic interests. Notice how the synagogue in question managed to stand for centuries without being torched. How do you explain that? jbg Posted March 1, 2011 Author Report Posted March 1, 2011 ...........unethical pursuit of strategic interests.Survival by Israel? eyeball Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Survival by Israel? No, securing western access to oil while denying the Soviet Union access to oil. Too bad it took a dictator to save them.
