William Ashley Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) So is there a reason why they can't shove 13 extra people on the plane? Are they drawing straws or something.. ? What are they going to do with the last 13? http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/944120--ottawa-to-send-military-plane-to-evacuate-canadians-from-libya?bn=1 Ok they seem to be moving on this --- but why send the smaller charter if a globemaster is being sent.. also if it is "too risky" for commercial airlines.. is it really safe to be landing a globemaster into a civil war zone without preparation? It has me think that the situation is a little unstable.. it'll probably go ahead without any hitches but is it prudent to be sending a very expensive aircraft into a civil war? Airlines are all grounding their flights. I'm wondering about why they are sending a globemaster though if a charter can do it. Maybe the UAE can fly them into pearson. A free flight in for emirates. Its a $329 million dollar plane. Boeing 737-800 starts at $72.5 million Maybe they can send the PM's plane I hear he has a paint job he wants to change but can't get approval for.... This is probably the best chance for the paint to get dinged if there is gonna be one.. for next week or so. Edited February 24, 2011 by William Ashley Quote I was here.
Topaz Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 What the news is saying that the Foreign Affairs isn't, is that Canada has been banned from landing. The Canadians that have gotten out are on US planes or other foreign planes. While Harper has sent his gang across Canada spending up to 200 Mil to buy votes, these Canadians families could careless about an election and want more information on their loved ones! Quote
Smallc Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) It also says that there is one military aircraft that has already performed it's task, and another (15001, the plane in need of a new paint job) standing by. The government has been doing all that they can. Edited February 25, 2011 by Smallc Quote
scribblet Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Some people will stop at nothing to politicize and spin a situation into a negative Most of the Canadians are out now, the gov't is doing all that it can under a bad situation. Saipan Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Did Liberals sent any plane for Zahra Kazemi? She was held in Iran for a long time. Eventually beaten to death. What did Liberals do? Nothing. ZILCH! Quote

Nothing. ZILCH! I'm sorry about her death but do you really think any governing party could have saved her? I would think even the US would have had trouble getting her out. So how do you think they could have gotten her out? Quote

Do you think the Liberals would have done any better sending planes to Libya to "buy votes"? Topaz your posting here has become pretty sad lately. betsy Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Whoa, new host of Power Play (CTV) gave his last word yesterday at the end of the show....and it was a show of support to the government for doing its best at a difficult situation. There was also that hint of rebuke aimed at the Opposition. That came as big surprise. Quote
Saipan Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 I'm sorry about her death but do you really think any governing party could have saved her? Was there any revolution and shooting going on in Tehran and complete chaos, like in Lybia? Quote
Smallc Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 It also says that there is one military aircraft that has already performed it's task, and another (15001, the plane in need of a new paint job) standing by. The government has been doing all that they can. I was wrong, the GG has 15003 on this trip, not the one that will probably get a new paint job, which is 15001. Quote
