If 10 years of tax cuts are supposed to stimulate the economy and create jobs, where is that economy and where are those jobs? A.Bruce Bartlett : The Bush tax cuts were economically worthless. I'll tell you what that last jobs report Shady likes to reference. ALL THE JOB LOSSES were in the public sector due to spending cuts. Shady likes to have his cake and eat it to but in the end the Republican congress got swept in on JOBS JOBS JOBS and now they yelling cuts cuts cuts. When you cut people get fired so don't start yell me about jobs reports because those reports were growing jobs until the Republicans were swept in. I know Americans who choose to be underemployed relative to their qualifications because it's a better fit with their lifestyle - with raising a family. What the statistics clearly show is that there are growing inequities in American society and the middle class and the poor are bearing the brunt of the excesses of the neoliberal model currently in place. If 10 years of tax cuts are supposed to stimulate the economy and create jobs, where is that economy and where are those jobs? The recession and job losses had nothing to do with tax rates. They had to do with socialist government policy that led to banks and lenders giving money to people for homes that couldn't pay it back, and in some cases didn't even have a job. All under the guise of "fairness." The housing crisis led to the recession, and is still causing economic problems. That and Obama's anti-business policies. Yah still doesn't explain why over 8 years Bush's tax cuts created 10% of the jobs Clintons tax hikes created does it? Clinton increased taxes and he created 23 MILLION jobs while Bush cut them and left with only 2.5 Million more jobs.
