Topaz Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Some in the government want the plane used by the PM and VIP's repainted to look more like the other heads of the world's planes. Right now, its painted military grey, after it was changed from the white with red marking. If they are going to keep changing colours because of the party that is in power its going to cost big bucks. I think the way it is now is better because there isn't a target on the plane as to who is flying in it. If its a government of Canada plane, then painted it back to the colours of the Canadian flag and I don't think Harper wants to flying in a plane of white and red. Topaz Posted January 13, 2011 Author Report Posted January 13, 2011 Topaz, really, you should research what you're talking about. If they paint the plane any other colour it will cost more and Harper doesn't like the colour now, and he won't like it red/white the colour of the flag, so how are they going to paint it and not cost? So the only way to keep the cost neutral is to leave it alone, right? Besides , this government is always finding ways to make themselves happy and spending out taxes dollars no matter what they SAY. M.Dancer Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 If they paint the plane any other colour it will cost more They have to be painted in 2012, one way or another. Are you claiming that painting it in a different colour will cost more? Is that your line of reasoning? Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

Esq Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 The military should determine what is required for operational requirements. Other than this the paintjob means nothing. It could be flamingo pink with roses all over it, and at least may actually save tax payers money as a result. Quote

Smallc Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Doesn't matter what colour it is as long as it doesn't conflict with any of the aircraft's other uses. The aircraft in question (CC15001) is rarely used for anything else. CC15002 - 05 are occasionally used for the same purpose as 01 though (like when the PM left for China on the same day that The Prince of Whales flew home, or when the GG went to Mexico while the PM was attending a conference). The only other use that the particular aircraft ever has is ferrying troops, generally within Canada. The front of it is kept permanently configured for the PM, GG, Queen, or others. Quote
