First Nations are not Canadians. They are treaty peoples - which Canada is obligated to provide for, and maintain rights in exchange for us sharing their lands. However, most of Canada has still not been ceded and the law requires us to return the land or compensate them for their loss of use of those lands for 100 or 200 years, as the case may be.
