Oh by the way, I didn't mention it earlier but I live less than 30 minutes from the Bay of Quinte. So there you go... six degrees or whatever

Really ? Whereabouts... don't say it's Smithfield...

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

Oh come on.

Thread appreciated. :D

At least for its comical left-wing self loathing/ soul purging value...

You weren't the problem. One right-winger and one left-winger were. Some of the comments were rude personal attacks. I don't want or need that.

Lots of right-wingers came from hippie parents, just as hippies come from conservative parents. And, as I have said before, can't we all just get abong ?

Ok, we're all getting together at Oleg's place to share a bong. I'm in! I have a few Airmiles saved up!

BTW, jbg, I liked your original post. I'm sorry you felt the need to delete it; MLW is a community, and even when we disagree, it is good to know that there is a person on the other side of the computer screen.

Then again, it was interesting. Maybe a 'bio' section would be worthwhile ? Or alternately, we could update our profiles and start a thread with a link to our profiles.

Or maybe we could just put as much information as we wish on our profiles, and people could check the profiles (or not) as they wish.

If somebody is fascinated to know more about Kimmy, they can just just click my profile. "Ah ha! Kimmy likes kittens, unicorns and glitter, Snuggies, and hopes to have a pony some day."

I'm not sure how edifying this sort of thing really is, however. The only person who checks my profile is Dennis Markuze, and I have a vague sense that it's only because he wants to kill me.

I just checked your profile. It feels like peeking. On rather thought, I'd rather have a play pen for bios and personal info. You could even lie if you wanted.

Thanks. I can PM it to anyone who's interested. I didn't need the rude personal attacks. I don't do them and I don't appreciate them.

Or at least you use the strike-through when you "do" them.

Was all that in the food section? I sort of see Kimmy, from her on-line persona, as wearing big heavy boots to kick kittens out of her way - along with beggars and Jehovah's witnesses.

Then you can start by curtailing your own "personal attacks".

I see her as a 300-pound 35-year-old guy in his basement. But that's just me.

I will not say that I've been perfect. I have on occasions been rude. But nothing like your unnecessary and consistent levels of rudeness and incivility.

You will find that I preserve a special form of "rudeness" and "incivility" for those who attempt to shut me up (e.g. Der Untergang parodies), throw public tantrums because I refuse to reciprocate in personal e-mails, or label me as anything in an attempt to define yourself (e.g. "right winger").

I am not here to kiss anyone's ass...including yours.

I didn't ask you to kiss my ass. My sole interest in PM's (not e-mails) is that I would prefer to keep attacks off-board. I guess you like to air your laundry with largely allied posters in public. Or you are simply rude.

LOL! So you would rather insult me in private, eh? My posts are my own without the need for "allied" coordination or approval. As for your "preferences", don't be silly.

I was never planning on insulting you. Other than that I have nothing to say.
