Forty years with CTV? I didn't think Clark was that old. Apparently he retired. I can see him freelancing but I don't see him full time on any network, including the embryonic SunTV.

Jane Taber <gag> hosted Power Play tonight. The more I see her, the more I think I'll check out Solomon on the CBC. The lesser of two evils.

I know...what a choice between the two lol. She isn't permanent.

I'm not sure he's retired...and I'm not sure that he isn't going to SunTV.

I wonder what Luky is going to say if that happens???

I know that Clark used to be on CFTO in Toronto...I did'nt know that he started 40 years ago! :o

I hope he gets a good position somewhere else. He SHOULD have got the top job.

uhhh... idle speculation has Clark turning up on CBC to replace Mansbridge... after Fox News North offers Mansbridge that which he no longer can refuse. Apparently, the current 'fly in the ointment' holding all this back, is that Harper doesn't want Mansbridge to anchor Fox News North

I just hope that Tom Clark gets a good top anchor job somewhere. He was expected by many to get the job at CTV. He didn't, and someone far less capable got it instead.

couldn't care less.

I could...and will

RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS

If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

I read one of the responses to that blog...I wonder if one of the reasons that Clark is leaving is because he was actually quite impartial and not like Mike Duffy, and the suits at CTV did'nt like that?

I'm wondering the same thing. I do now one thing. He has covered more than most of us will ever see, and he's done a good job at pretty much all of it.

I suppose you're going to accuse him of being conservative. There is a poster here a blog that calls him too liberal. That's how you know someone is impartial.

No not at all!

I just do not see Tom Clark as impartial.

I like Evan Solomon.

As for Tom Clark, I was not too impressed with him....lately (especially around the time of the Guergis affair), he seemed biased. His bias was compounded when he gave an inaccurate statement while "grilling" a Conservative MP. Clark, in his argument, stated that the Conservatives reported that insider deal scandal (around election time with Harper vs Martin) to the RCMP....when in fact, it was the NDP who reported it. Clark did not even acknowledge his mistake when the Conservative MP corrected him on that...Clark just let it slide. That is irresponsible journalism.

That was when I started tuning in to Solomon. Solomon is fair and I like the way he tackles an issue.

Except that Solomon doesn't tackle issues at all. He simply lets everything go by.

The new Sunday political show on Global was supposed to start Sunday...but I can't find anything about it.

The link in the post previous to yours says Sunday, October 16. Can't see why it wouldn't go ahead.
