There is absolutely nothing wrong or heinous about burning books that you own (in a fire-safe manner). There is nothing wrong with drawing pictures of Mohammed. There is nothing wrong with protesting the construction of a building you do not approve of.

All you Islamosubmissives need to get a grip. We don't have to walk on egg shells to avoid offending Muslims. Not conforming to your twisted standards of self-censorship and cultural submission is not "wrong".

They're pre-Dhimmied for our convenience...or someone's convenience. Let 'em know where to pay the Jizya and I'm sure they'll start payments just to get ahead of the game.

You actually need to be told why haineous acts are wrong?

Or maybe you believe they are right. Please feel free to explain how.

Well, I'd be fined by the authorities if I burned a stack of Qurans in my area, because there's a ban on open fires in effect right now due to extreme risk of wildfires.

But... if the books are their own property, and there's not some sort of fire ban in the area... then I'm at a loss to see how it's either wrong or heinous... unless you're saying that it's how people will feel about this act that makes it wrong or heinous.

If it's how people will feel about it that makes it wrong or heinous, then the supermosque must be wrong and heinous too, right?

Speaking for me, wrongly, again, eh? Apparently you can't stop yourself, so I'll tell you what -- from now on I'll save myself the trouble of posting and you can carry on both ends of the discussion, speaking for me and responding to yourself, as you have been doing all along.

You seem to have acquired Shady as a model for posting and are hiding behind obfuscation. I quoted you directly so I couldn't very well be "speaking for you, wrongly".

I think I might buy a couple Qurans and take them with me next time I go to a bonfire on the beach.

Evidently the protests are the talk of the terrorist world. Shame on us for not walking on eggshells! And of course if anyone dares to commit an act of violence regarding the mosque, they are hateful bigots. But if there are any repercussions from the terrorist organizations because of the protests, it'll be our fault because we antagonized them, or some such nonsense.

Indeed. "They hate Islam! They hate our Prophet!" The protesters are "doing Bin Laden's work for him."

I'm sure that next time the Sharia-in-Canada debate resurfaces, opposition to Sharia will likewise cause third-world mooks to say "They hate Islam! They hate our Prophet!" and those who oppose Sharia-in-Canada will likewise be "doing Bin Laden's work for him."

Really? And where, exactly, did I say I "was getting it," "it" being your claim, which I denied? All you did was repeat yourself and then make some ludicrous claim that I was "finally getting it."

Like I said, keep speaking for me and answering yourself. You've developed quite a talent for it. :)

Case closed. ;)

So, because the physical object is thier property, there is nothing wrong with the fact that they proclaim to the world that they hate Islam and will burn their copies of the Qu`ran to prove it, and a delibarate show of hatred?

What a way of making a fool of yourself. You are to be applauded.

So do you get this upset every time the American flag is burned in protest? Every time someone proclaims to the world that they hate the U.S. and will burn the flag to prove it, in a deliberate show of hatred? That's a serious question.

Oh noes! Someone doesn't like Islam. Whatever shall we do? Let's go cry in a corner.

Look, lots of people don't like lots of things for lots of different reasons, and are free to express their dislike thereof in ways that do not endanger other individuals. That includes burning various objects, including symbolic objects, so long as they are their property and the burning is carried out in a safe and lawful manner.

That "someone" is making the news as far away as Taiwan.

One yokel wants to burn the Koran and it makes news worldwide as people burn the Bible and the flag with nary a peep. I'm still waiting for the outpouring of outrage for those acts ............... and I have the feeling I'll be waiting a long time. <_<

There is nothing wrong with drawing cartoons of Mohammed... Childish I would say, but not wrong. And there is nothing wrong about protesting the Corboda Project..;. except when the protest turns into bigotry and hatred.

But only a moron would consider hateful acts clearly advertised as acts of hatred to be ok because /they own the book/. and it takes a hyper-moron to call islamosubmissive anybody woho does not accept it.

But do not fear anyone. I will defend you right to make fools of yourselves.

In case you have not been able to figure that one yet, nobody here has said they did not have a legal right to do what they paln to do. Like it or not, that right does not shield them from being taken to task for it.

Except you and/or your fellows in this thread have repeatedly argued that anyone that disagrees with this "project" is a bigot, despite repeated explanations to the contrary on the part of AW and other posters. Gotta love your generosity: "oh ya, nothing wrong with protesting it so long as you're not a bigot" while automatically classifying anyone who protests it as a bigot (I don't know if you yourself did this at any point in this thread, but it has been stated at least a few hundred times by other posters on your side of this argument).

Yes it did seem a little Mad Hatter's Tea Party to me as well.

Sure, and I think burning Qurans is pretty stupid as well, not least because it might expose you to unnecessary danger. Certainly some people may be offended and that may perhaps make the individuals burning the Qurans some enemies. But "wrong and heinous"? No.

Heinous:

* (of a person or wrongful act, esp. a crime) Utterly odious or wicked

- a battery of heinous crimes

* flagitious: extremely wicked, deeply criminal; "a flagitious crime"; "heinous accusations"

wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

* Totally reprehensible, horrible, wicked

en.wiktionary.org/wiki/heinous

* heinously - in a terribly evil manner; "the child was heinously murdered"

wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

* heinousness - atrocity: the quality of being shockingly cruel and inhumane

wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

Does burning some silly books compare with these definitions and examples in your mind?

Wait no more... You already know what I think of burning of the Bible for hateful reasons. sorry if I doin't feel the need to show empathy towards people who would do that kind of thing.

Actually, when done out of hatred, it is. But how dare you calling such acts stupid? After all, don't they have the right to do it?:lol::lol:

Definitely, they have the right to do it, but doing so may well be stupid. Just like building that mosque.

Ainxw I did not make such an equation, why don't you address your postings to those who did it? I am not hear to defend or justify positions I don't share.

I'm still waiting, since you made no mention of the flag. I'm sure you just inadvertently forgot to include it, though, so I'll repeat my previous question to you, giving you another chance to answer:

...do you get this upset every time the American flag is burned in protest? Every time someone proclaims to the world that they hate the U.S. and will burn the flag to prove it, in a deliberate show of hatred?

And the answer is???
