Yes, he's a slimeball conservative like the rest of them. It's nice to see even Shady coming around to the people's revolution.

I can get you a copy of the little red book.

He is still trying to work things from the left. Nice you recognize what a "neo"-conservative is though. Obama will eventually be on the conservative side but he will still be a socialist and we know what right wing socialists are.

I agree he is a slimeball. I no longer have any doubt whether or not he knows his ideology is about the State and not the people. It's entirely about the State.

If his plans were about the people he would not be bribing Senators to vote for health care.

I will go a little bit further and say with Obama it is not about the State even. It is about Obama.

My country, which I love, is not named as the Obamanation.

I learned that style of debate from when Bush was in office, and every criticism of him you considered anti-American.

Speaking of strange politics, I wonder why Brown would react to the suggestion of raping Coakley with a curling iron with a sneer and a "we can do this!"

The only thing I could clearly hear was suicide. I'm not sure what that's in reference to, but whatever was said, I'm glad Brown ignored it, and continued on. Speaking of raping with a curling iron.

FYI:

The Senate race in Massachusetts has taken an ugly turn.

A video is circulating in which Republican Scott Brown seemingly smiles at a violent, sexist taunt directed at his Democratic challenger Martha Coakley at a rally.

"Shove a curling up HER butt," shouted one attendee off-camera. Brown, holding a bullhorn, seemed to smile and nod in acknowledgement.

'Curling iron' rape remark leveled at Martha Coakley by Scott Brown supporter may burn GOPer

With Republican Brown doing so well in the polls, it's possible that his reaction to the Coakley "curling iron" remark may end up being his Lazio moment.

New Yorkers and Hillary Clinton fans will remember then-Rep. Rick Lazio stalking across a debate stage in 2000 and demanding that Clinton sign some pledge he waved in her personal space. He came across like a bully, and went down.

I saw the video, but I couldn't hear anything close to what someone supposedly said. I think it's more projection from Coakley supporters than actual reality.

I know you couldn't hear it. That's why I provided the text from the article(s) about the incident.

Perhaps it is more projection from Coakly supporters than actual reality -- just as your post saying "oakley Let Guy Off For Raping His 23-Month-Old Niece With Hot Curling Iron" is more projection than actual reality. Apparently, it could work both ways, right?

So in the end, which will determine the final vote? Right now it sounds as if Brown may end up being hurt by such "projections." Perhaps if the "projection" that "oakley Let Guy Off For Raping His 23-Month-Old Niece With Hot Curling Iron" hadn't been made by Brown's supporters, then Brown wouldn't be in the predicament he is right now.

What predicament? Being ahead in all of the polls?

*sigh*

....it's possible that his reaction to the Coakley "curling iron" remark may end up being his Lazio moment.

You really needed that repeated? Come on. At least try to follow along and keep up. <_<

I know that Coakley's supporters hope so, but I doubt it. Lazio's error was his own action. Brown didn't say anything offensive, and didn't do anything offensive. When he was told of the supposed comment from the crowd, he criticized it. I'm not sure what else you want him to do. This is just a pathetic attempt at some last minute political mud throwing.

What's worse? Brown not hearing the comment, and then denouncing it later on, or Coakley's own personal actions, or actually lack of action when it came to presecuting a child rapist? It's not even close.

Allow me to correct the record.

"But in the aftermath of the crime, a Middlesex County grand jury overseen by Martha Coakley, then the district attorney, investigated without taking action.

It was only after the toddler’s mother filed applications for criminal complaints that Coakley won grand jury indictments charging rape and assault and battery."

"Even then, nearly 10 months after the crime, Coakley’s office recommended that Winfield be released on personal recognizance, with no cash bail. He remained free until December 2007, when Coakley’s successor as district attorney won a conviction and two life terms."

Her efforts are hardly worth championing.

Who's being misogynistic? People are criticizing her deplorable record. And while she's being soft on crime, she's pretty tough when it comes to pro-life emergency room workers!

Coakley: "if you can have religious freedom, [but] you probably shouldn’t work in the emergency room."

Add to this her decision to make fun of Scott Brown's GM truck, and his efforts to meet and greet people in front of Fenway Park and you have a real political genius on your hands! LOL.

punked, I know you love her, but you have to admit, she's run an unbelievably bad campaign.

I will just recorrect the Record. The hate machines big thing seems to be that Keith Windfield was released with out bail. Well the DA who won said of this "Bail isn't used as a means to keep someone locked up." You are innocent until PROVEN guilty in the states bail is to make sure you stick around which Windfield did, so Martha was right on that one he didn't flee. As too why it took so long to indite, because the child was deemed too young to testify the prosecutors wanted to make sure the case was air tight. It is still being appealed by Winfield. I know you want a Rush to prosecute make some stuipd mistake and let this guy off I don't Shady. Martha as AG sent 1000 child abusers a year to prison.

As for her campaign, I think you always have to run like you are behind, but being NDP that is what we are taught on any campaign we work on becuase we always are behind. I have never been able to depend on the electorate. It is how we win campaigns and it is how Scott might win this one. I have seen it over and over again, this just gives me hope in future Canadian campaigns anything can happen right? Although Scott is hiring paid GOTV workers because he doesn't have a ground organization and as we have seen with Acorn that doesn't always work out too well. Still anyones race.

It is about the same as all the other ones. It is going to be close, a lot closer then it should be. If this one gets pulled out it will be on the back of Obama.

I agree. If Coakley wins, she pretty much owes her victory to President Obama, and to a lesser extend, President Clinton who also campaigned there on the weekend.

I honestly like her but I have family down there coming from a Catholic backrounds, who love their sports, and I can see how male voters might not. I think she is strong, she thinks too much she has no 10 word answers, and that doesn't play well in this sound bite driven Media. It is hard to say your opinion on the war if it isn't "Fight them over there so we don't fight them over here" or "We are in it till will bring Osama home and hang him high" it is hard to express a real opinion on Taxes and Health care. Those who can do it and relate to the public in a sound bite like Kerry, Obama, and even Brown have the upper hand. Those who can keep people listening past those 10 words to truly explain their position like Teddy could are 1 in a billion. Martha while her opinions are great, doesn't have either trait.

That's an interesting question. It is hard not to arrive at the conclusion that in some way, this election is a referendum on Obama. Despite saying that he wouldn't go to Massachusetts, then he did. He injected himself into the race.

Now then, if he gains on the upside - does that he mean he loses on the downside too? Or is this a call option (Clinton style) where Obama gets the credit for a win but can walk away from a loss?

Dunno.

Anyway, it seems to me that Obama and the White House have already lost. This vote should not be so close. (Just as the votes in NJ and West Virginia should not have gone against the Democrats.)

Obama is no fool and has a refined sense of the possible. I suspect that whatever happens in Massachusetts, he will retool his tactics in preparation for 2010 and 2012. For the moment, I don't think he will jettison the (leftist) legacy of his mother. For the moment, he thinks he can sell the steak - he just has to find the right sizzle.
