Neither Democrat would say so, but a third source said the two also began pushing the idea of targeting Limbaugh in their daily phone conversations with Emanuel. Conversations and email exchanges began taking place in and out of the White House not only between the old pals from the Clinton era but also including White House senior adviser David Axelrod, Deputy Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and Woodhouse. The White House needed no more convincing after Limbaugh’s hour-plus performance Saturday, celebrated on the right and mocked on the left, at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where he re-stated his hope Obama fails. “He kicked this into full-gear at CPAC by reiterating it,” said a senior White House official of Limbaugh. By Sunday morning, Emanuel elevated the strategy by bringing up the conservative talker, unprompted, on CBS’s “Face the Nation” and calling him the “the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party. I hope they do take down that ignorant racist piece of crap Limbaugh. He is an idiot who spreads hate and stupidity like it was a communicable disease. Making fun of Micheal J Fox's MS. ?? Also this is the same piece of work that shoots off his mouth about cracking down on drug users all the while illigally buying oxycontin from the black market himself. There is no bigger hypocrite than Rush. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Obama and team are just falling into a rookie trap....Limbaugh only gains ratings with the free publicity and focused enmity by the party in power, which should not be concerned with a radio talking head after securing power. Rush plays these fools for all its worth with their help. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Michael Hardner Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 People are misinterpreting the plan. The plan isn't to take Rush down, as far as I can see, but to build him up - to make him the defacto head of the GOP in everyone's minds. The Democrats would love for Rush to be in the spotlight for a long time. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
guyser Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 The Democrats would love for Rush to be in the spotlight for a long time. and it would be even better if he shared that with Ann Coulter. Quote

Canadian Blue Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Doesn't Rush Limbaugh need to exterminate all the "champagne conservatives" first. This will clearly distract him from the clear task of killing off his ideological competition, people like George Will, David Frum, Anne Applebaum, etc. Quote "Keep your government hands off my medicare!" - GOP activist
stevoh Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 The best thing that could happen to democrats is for Rush to become the voice of the republicans. In order for the republican party to appeal to the majority of voters, they have to appear as moderate. Rush pulls them further to the right. Keep up the good work! Quote Apply liberally to affected area.

Rush is not pulling right - he does not have a clue what is RIGHT or wrong - He is a parasitic talking head that will say anything - do anything for a dollar and a pat on the head - and to be called hero ...The man is a menace to civilization ..put plainly - if the Italian Mafia ran America he would be their biggest supporter and mouth peace - He does not represent the right - he represents clever corruption. From what I saw during the election was that Obama is an entertainer and actor - as is Rush..........so. My theory is correct. Politics is theatre...great......I just want to know who the stage hands are who are pulling the strings - and most of all who wrote this damned script! Quote
