Why political conservatives care so little about natural conservation is to me a paradox. I think it may have to do with the understanding conservatives have that the God-like element in Man commands them to dominate nature.

Its even worse, most humans seem to behave as if the hereafter is more real than the here and now. Irrationalism is a one-way ticket up a dead-end alley.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Justice is a very relative thing. It is also an excellent measure of a specific jurisdiction in their efforts towards improving the human condition. Keep in mind justice is expensive and all societies tend to be measured upon the willingness to spend on the public behalf.

In this nation of social policies and liberal dispositions, conservatism is very nearly a dirty word. The political party of Conservatives is a far cry from the traditional meaning of the word.

When it comes to defining contemporary North-American (neo) conservatism, I think we have to consider the expertise of Bob Altermeyer of the University of Manitoba. After empirically gathering data from a variety of sources and crunching it statistically, Altermeyer discovers three "attitudinal clusters" marking Right Wingers:

1. Authoritarian submission -- a high degree of submission to the authorities who are perceived to be established and legitimate in the society in which one lives;

2. Authoritarian aggression -- a general aggressiveness, directed against various persons, which is perceived to be sanctioned by established authorities; and

3. Conventionalism -- a high degree of adherence to the social conventions which are perceived to be endorsed by society and its established authorities.

There are no conservatives - hence no conservative social justice - what justice can be gotten from neo-cons - con aritsts of the highest degree - neo-cons are crimminals do not expect justice from those who practived anti-justism...they hate what is right and good and love power for powers sake - parasites - and liberals are just the up and coming replacement - in time if liberals ruled they would be the new gangsters in town - and they would be just like the neo-cons - power corrupts - and we do not have any non-corruptables waiting in the wings. All those who want power want it for the wrong reason. Instead of stability, they want dominance like a crazed drunken abusive father ..... Power is the mutual transfer of respect - who respects the common person - and who respects their rights and freedoms -------NO ONE.... ! No leader or upcoming leader actually loves and respects the people.

To me, the Law itself contains an outrageous element that is obvious when we say "the law is the law". To me also, anyone who understands what Kafka was writing about would be a good leader.

You're wrong there Oleg, their is One politician who does love and respect the people, one political party that stands for the common man. Jack Layton and the NDP are a party made up of "the common people" You should come out and have a few beers with us at the nexy NDP function in your area. I think you will find yourself feeling right at home, surrounded by your "brothers", evryday working guys and girls. Jack Layton is a very REAL and personable man, you can tell he is sincere when you sit down with him and talk about the real problems facing your family, and working class families everywhere. Nobody will govern for the common man until we send the ruling elites a message by putting one of our own in power and electing an NDP prime minister. Jack Layton SHOULD be that man.

I don't think Layton is made up of Common People....has Layton ever had a non public purse job? How about his dad?

The only thing Layton cares about is Layton.

Layton is a career opportunist...which is a requirement for a succesful politician. He'll dump the EndDPers quicker than you can say John Shavluk if it means an inch of gain for Jack Layton

RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS

If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

The question becomes why it is so easy to forget about Layton and the NDP. After all, he and his party are all but new. My answer (following Slavoj Zizek) is that we doesn’t want a smiley face as a leader, we want to be lead by someone who will listen to our Freudian slips and speak only to propose interpretations of our slips.
