You cheer me up - thanks. My point is that very few people go on the quest of no return. You have to have a powerful desire and daring - willing to risk all for enlightenment - most men and woman are fearful and will never take the leap - once you enter the light - there is no going back....The up side is - you can enter into the darker regions that are the human mind - and leave at will - now that's power........sure wish that more people would be brave.....better go back to painting and finish the project for the daughter - got to make her look good for the upstarts.

Okay - so I am afraid of her - ever tried to survive with a bunch of female offspring that make your mother look like mamma Teresa?

Just more arrogance from this junior Senator from Harvard, hrmmm...just like Ignatieff and they're both arrogant. That's the socialist way. Control the interview, control the people, control their lives and assets.

When President Reagan took office in 1981, the first thing they did for press conferences was to restore some decorum and dignity to the proceedings...no more screaming like jackals at the president. Carter was very abused by the time he left. They whipped his ass good!

But Reagan never came off as particularly arrogant. He used humor and senior aloofness to get through the tough questions. Obama needs to be careful with his non verbals and perceived condescension. "Don't waste your question" may seem very reasonable in context, but it telegraphs arrogance, and if the press turns on him, even Obama mojo will lose its luster. If we wanted another splendid prick, we would have elected Vice President Cheney!

Some Canadians often wonder how President Bush was even competitive with Al Gore or John Kerry....most Americans do not take kindly to pompous arrogance.

Oh my....

On a completely different note... Ever hear what Peter Lawford said about Nancy?

Sure we have.....Obama made a wisecrack too. But Nancy still has a lot more class than either of them. When Reagan died, America paused to take notice and pay respects, and that included Nancy.

"senior aloofness" - you got talent kid! And you do have your mojo workin. Obama might do well by curbing the swagger - other than that - he can talk. Speaking of Cheney - talk about a power crazed corporate wacko job - Watching CNNs Wolfe Blitzer question Cheney on his new "heir" concieved thought science by his lesbian diesil daughter - Cheney was so arrogant and angry - that you could see Wolfe fear for his life for a moment - He looked at Blitzer and his eyes said - shut up you little Jewish journalist - or I will kill you and your whole family...glad Dick will retire to his bunker - he was abusive - and I am sure was abusive to the President . with his sheer will of personality...Obama should be able to continue to win heart without resorting to giving heart attacks.

Whatever, the point is, he wasn't talking to a Canadian citizen like you Shady.

Well, that's where you're wrong again. He was definitely talking to Canadians, as well as 'citizens of the world', to quote his big speech in Germany.

Right...which is why I love Dick (Ironman) Cheney. He is first and foremost an unmitigated prick and proud of it. He is like the Godfather, and drinks from the firery cauldron of pure power. One day on the Senate floor he was overheard telling the opposition to go have sex with themselves. If the heart of rock 'n roll is still beating, its inside Cheney's chest.

To be fair though, Cheney only has such power as Vice Prez because of Fritz Modale, who insisted that Carter give the VP's office broader powers and a larger budget. But Fritz was no Cheney, and boy, Carter sure could have used a Cheney. Everybody needs a "Cheney" once in a while.....payback is a bitch!

glad Dick will retire to his bunker - he was abusive - and I am sure was abusive to the President . with his sheer will of personality...Obama should be able to continue to win heart without resorting to giving heart attacks.

Obama is morphing on policy even as we type...must be all those security briefings. Let's note how gray his hair gets over the next four years.

People of the world this is our moment----wow...not only President but king of the planet...impressive. It's distrubing and mildly distressing that he might be filling a dead mans shoes - Aldof would be enraged to see a black man winning - the gold!

Who knows - what ever Obama is or is not - he's our Obama...hope you don't mind me adopting the boy?(man) After all ....someone has to look out for his best interests...He does well - we all do well....and so much for that anti-christ thing. Just hope he says no on occassion to the lusting watery mouths of some of his white handlers - what are they going to do if he acts up? To late for common American cure for a rebelious President...May God and the people keep him safe - and they will....I don't know why I said that - I guess as an old friend of mine said to me "you have to trust someone eventually" - So I'm tossing in the towel ......and I will never call him a boy again.

Obama is caught in the middle.....his own party has progressive elements who will be first to find a rope.

Some crazy Americans (and one Palestinian) have their own methods.....and it wouldn't be the first time. I referred to a old Richard Pryor stage routine where he demonstrates the first "black" president's speech....ducking and juking behind the podium all the while.

So George was the actual house boy president...his skin was a bit off but he emultated pure ignorance. Richard Pryor to the fire may have been a visionary...little did he percieve that the first black president was actually black on the inside but not in a good way - ironic. I did not understand you reference to "find a rope" _ are you saying that his own party is his greatest threat? Clarify.

Exactly....there are some radical progressive elements who think Obama owes them a backlash of change on top of their agenda just to make up for the Bush years. When Obama doesn't deliver as "promised", the knives will come out. We saw this during Bubba's presidency as well when he signed off on welfare reform.

Too bad Richard isn't around to see this and make laughs all over again. It's funny just thinking about it, if you remember the title to one of Pryor's comedy records (on vinyl, of course).

Vinyl? What's that? Just kidding. I just hope those radical "progressive" agendas are not overly controled by the Clintons...Hillary has already been president once. Most don't realize because of the leftist education that Hillary recieved plus mixing in the taste of wealth and power - make for a strange creature - a Trotkyish twit who wants equality for all internationally but still insists on a lavish life style - besides - I don't trust Bill - he comes up here on occassion to hang out with one of the local families - who have some unmentionable skeletons in their closets. Birds of a feather - Hillary can cut your heart out if you know what I mean - look at Dave Letterman..

Can't believe how perceptive you are - I'm shocked....I watched them build their little empire - that's my old hood - I know every lake and meadow - that USED to be there...just an observer...although I did some fancey painting of the walls at - what's her names place - also peed on her floor by accident - how did I know the toilet was not hooked up - call me the fly on the wall.

Looks like the mainstream media is coming around to my way of thinking. Recently on CNN, Campbell Brown had a great commentary on Obama's disrespectful attitude towards the press. Enjoy!

What's more, he's not even president yet. This can only get more interesting. Could rival Nixon!

She paused from doing what??? Surely you don't think she is still at it? At her age?

My guess is that when Mr. Obama passes, there will be the same sort of pause and respect doled out.

Is this the change we've been waiting for? When asked tough questions, Barack Obama refuses to answer, cuts the reporter off, and then proceeds to direct him to ask a different question. Perhaps this is some insight as to how his Administration will behave during future problems.

YouTube

He does not want to talk about an ongoing investigation and is releasing a report about the question which will be the answer to the question. Do you expect him to answer questions on where they think Bin Laden is? Or what the FBI is investigating at this time too?

???? I posted that America paused.....not Nancy. She was too busy burying her husband in four time zones.

Nope...it will be "..win one for the Gipper".....not Obama.

*UPDATE*

Obama flashes irritation in press room visit

President Obama made a surprise visit to the White House press corps Thursday night, but got agitated when he was faced with a substantive question.

Asked how he could reconcile a strict ban on lobbyists in his administration with a Deputy Defense Secretary nominee who lobbied for Raytheon, Obama interrupted with a knowing smile on his face.

"Ahh, see," he said, "I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can't end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I'm going to get grilled every time I come down here."

Politico

How dare you ask the Messiah a very substantive and significant question! However, like in the previous case, he will probably allow you to ask a different question as to not make you waste your opportunity. Hope n Change '09.

I can't remember Reagan interrupting reporters questions to tell them not to bother, but let's assume for the moment that you have a valid point. Does that make it right for Obama, who yesterday promised an open government?

This is what I've been saying all along -- people got so caught up in the whole Obama-mania thing that they forgot he's still going to be President, and therefore he's going to be confined by the same powers-that-be as every other president in history. The dude is NOT a superhero, folks -- he's just a man, no different than Reagan or Bush or Clinton in that respect. You'd best get used to some of that lustre fading.
