segnosaur Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Without Bin Laden the occupation could not have occured. Nobody is claiming that Bin Laden wasn't a key figure in 9/11 or in terrorism in general. And while it is true that without bin laden there wouldn't have been a 9/11 (or a subsequent invasion of Afghanistan), its also true that without followers of Bin Laden, there wouldn't have been a 9/11 either. And without the existence of terrorist training camps that were harbored by the Taliban, there wouldn't have been a 9/11 either. Bin Laden didn't operate in a vacuum... he's a target, but not the only target. Without all the support he received, bin Laden wouldn't have been effective. Going after his supporters is also fair game. If there were other reasons for the occupation as you so kindly told us (WHAT A SHOCKER! REALLY? ULTERIOR MOTIVES, NEVER KNOWN THAT BEFORE) they were not published as you also mentioned Actually they were published, and I have provided references to such articles which were published before the invasion. the CIA Mobilized Bin Laden as an intelligence asset long ago* Ahem... from http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapcf/08/1...wers/index.html The story about bin Laden and the CIA -- that the CIA funded bin Laden or trained bin Laden -- is simply a folk myth. There's no evidence of this. In fact, there are very few things that bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and the U.S. government agree on. They all agree that they didn't have a relationship in the 1980s. And they wouldn't have needed to. Bin Laden had his own money, he was anti-American and he was operating secretly and independently. Quote

segnosaur Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 NEW YORK — Pakistan's top diplomat said Saturday there are no U.S. or other foreign military personnel on the hunt for Usama bin Laden in his nation, and none will be allowed in to search for the Al Qaeda leader. And the US is going to abide by this? That seems a whole lot of messed up. Pakistan is an ally, but is harboring the same terrorists Pakistan is supposed to help fight. Something not right here at all. Yes, Pakistan is a mess... They need Pakistan's help (and they have indeed gotten some assistance)... but if they demand to much (or even try to station military personnel there), they run the risk of alienating the significant radical islamic population which could result in the moderately pro-U.S. government getting overthrown and replaced with an anti-U.S. Islamic republic. GostHacked Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Yes, Pakistan is a mess...They need Pakistan's help (and they have indeed gotten some assistance)... but if they demand to much (or even try to station military personnel there), they run the risk of alienating the significant radical islamic population which could result in the moderately pro-U.S. government getting overthrown and replaced with an anti-U.S. Islamic republic. This sounds a lot like how the US approached Iran during the Hostage Crisis. The US went in, put in a puppet, which was quickly replaced by Iran which then resulting them turning more anti-US than before. Well the US should just go in anyways. With us, or against us. Blah blah blah. Publicly , I'd say the US is not in Pakistan, however, I would bet they are doing covert operations in Pakistan, just like they are doing covert operations in Iran.... again. So the lesson here is?? Dogonporch Many parts of Pakistan are 'no go' areas. Sort of like Los Angeles. Or Paris. Heck...Vancouver. Quote
obsidian Posted July 21, 2008 Author Report Posted July 21, 2008 The Taliban is Al Quaeda??? There are no training camps in Pashtunistan among other locations? The hijackers and Bin Laden are Afghani not Saudi? Quote

Well just fyi construction is scheduled for 2010.....wud of liked to see that happen without a warhttp://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?con...va&aid=9640 This is why I keep talking about the fallacy that is the war on terror. But... dammit where is my Alcan Hat?!?!? Anyways... the wars (both Iraq and Afghanistan) were not about freedom in the way most people understand it. Freedom to most of us is to live free, be happy and respect others, liberty ect ect .... but to the people in charge of this war is talking about the freedom of resources. Liberating them for the west's demands. The war with Iran will not be about freedom. It will not be about chemcial or nuclear weapons. This war with Iran, will be all about oil. If you think anything else, then you are duped. This rhetoric between Israel and the US and Iran is all just a distraction. Quote
obsidian Posted July 23, 2008 Author Report Posted July 23, 2008 (edited) the funny thing is there is actually some basis for tinfoil hats, lol. not that i wear one. microwaves among many other wavelengths of energy are blocked by the foil. the US in navy trials has been able to localize a voice in someones head and count from 1-9. it was done with the created percussions from the microwaves within the skull. and if you read the bio initiative report on EM pollution you would find that the authors believe most, if not all of it, is cancer causing(even radio waves, especially WIFI). in europe they've already accepted the risk of cancer from excessive cellphone use (this was known in the late 90's). the gov't of canada issued a warning about children frequently using cellphones before more is known. the foil would be useful against active denial system, that is, unless they turn up the power which would evaporate all the water instantaneosuly(hypothetically with enough power, which is possible to generate). which is probally whats gonna end up happening anyways. and for lasers what if the missiles were covered with mirror polished tungsten? so to me the crazy notion of a tinfoil hat doesn't seem that crazy and it is somewhat rational, but just not my style Edited July 23, 2008 by obsidian Quote
