Drea Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 What makes a country one of the top 10 best places for women? and Why isn't the *US on the top ten list? This is why I think we got into the top ten and why *others did not. -- social safety net -- healthcare -- relatively easy access to post secondary education -- individual rights Quote ...jealous much? Drea Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) Can anyone guess the common trait shared by 6 of the bottom 10? All of them have an "a" somewhere in the name...? I WIN! They are all muslim! Seeeeeeeeeee! The more theocratic a country the worse it is for it's citizens. Another case for the squelching of religion in governmental policy and human rights. margrace Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 Isn't it funny Drea how being in the top 10 countries for women and having good health care upsets some people. I wonder why? Quote

Drea Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) Removal of religion worked extremely well in the Soviet Union. Look how good their citizens had it. I think it would be great if countries in the middle east (and those having "problems" with muslims) had as many non-believers as we do in N. America. Would France, for example, not benefit from squelching religion? No more burning car riots etc... Worship at home or "house of worship" but don't bring your fantasy notions into government. Religion purposefully keeps women as second class citizens. Always has, always will. Even the most loving religious folk still believe that women are beneath men. We will not have true equality until people stop believing in the invisible sky entity judge. You have a problem with that? You would like to be ruled by an Imam perhaps? I suppose, as a rightwing he-man, you would welcome the Imam -- after all he will promise you 72 virgins to do your bidding! If you believe in one invisible entity I must assume that you believe in them all. Edited March 11, 2008 by Drea Quote ...jealous much? Booga Booga! Hee Hee Hee
