QUOTE=American Woman: The projected electoral votes are now Obama 325 and McCain 180.

The economy was always going to be McCain's weak point. He is linked very closely to the deregulation and the economic management of the Bush government.

Obama is now showing a seven point lead.

The economy is definitely playing a big part in Obama's lead, and along with it, I think Palin is turning out to be a weak point for McCain. People are looking at the mess we are in and realizing that Palin is "just one 72 year old heartbeat away from being our president," and realizing that she wouldn't have a clue as to what to do.

A few polls on the VP debate:

Two quick polls indicated that Biden fared better in the debate. A CBS News/Knowledge Networks Poll found that 46 per cent of uncommitted voters who watched the debate thought Biden won, with 21 per cent siding with Palin. A CNN poll found respondents judging Biden the winner by a margin of 51 per cent to 39 per cent.

The economy will continue to scare the hell of many people and most people believe that it was the Republicans who oversaw most of it.

Latest Gallup poll:

Barack Obama continued Friday to widen his lead over John McCain, pulling ahead 49-42 percent in the daily Gallup Poll. With the economy sputtering, Obama's lead could grow even bigger in the next few days.

Obama is often seen as being more capable of handling those woes than McCain is.

It would seem that people don't have faith in McCain's ability to handle the economy and his strong policy connections to Bush on economics pulls him down in the same way that Bush's numbers slide.

Latest Wall Street Journal/NBC poll:

With two weeks to go until Election Day, Obama now leads his Republican rival by 10 points among registered voters, 52 to 42 percent, up from 49 to 43 percent two weeks ago.

Obama’s current lead is also fueled by his strength among independent voters (topping McCain 49 to 37 percent), suburban voters (53 to 41), Catholics (50 to 44) and white women (49 to 45).
