  1. This dispute has been going on for years. I do not see a solution on this any time soon. Even with the WTO ruling in favour for Canada on several occassions nothing is resolved. Wait about 3 more years. MAYBE we will see something on it.
  2. That's 220 Floors... tens of thousands of people... They're not god. They didn't have cameras set up to watch everybody in the twin towers. Some of these ideas that people have might come from popular espionage films and books that overstate the capabilities of intelligence services. Shows like '24' and 'CSI' make spies and investigators into supermen. It's not like that in real life. When that much money flows in and out of the country, I would want to monitor it as well. Also , I don't watch 24, The Sheild, CSI ect. I try to stay away from TV as much as I can.
  3. Well looks like he is 'eligable' for the death scentence. http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/04/03/moussaou...dict/index.html Possible? So this is not 100% then? Does this mean the trial will continue or that the jury is really still out on the verdict? I am no law expert, but shoud the jury just be in closed doors til they make all the decisions? Or is it a two step process, jury decided if guilty, then decides on punishment?
  4. http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/04/03/moussaoui/index.html In the final moments.
  5. This is exactly what it boils down to. Are you spying on suspected terrorists, or every day citizens? Would you not want to monitor people in other countries? Since that is where the terrorists come from? Or are they all in the US now waiting to strike?
  6. I take back the 'inconceivable amount' remark. I overstated it there. But it would take a lot. And there would be some kind of evidence that they were there. They couldn't just slip a few guys in and plant explosives. Did you know there was a CIA office at the WTC ? BBC Article Other tennants of Building 7 http://www.fema.gov/pdf/library/fema403_ch5.pdf Page 2, Table 5.1 Lists, the FBI, CIA, DOD, IRS, Secret Service, ect. Juliani's emergency bunker is there as well. Also check out the other thing on BBC there Micheal, http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/static/in...nants/south.stm That lists the tenants for WTC 1 and 2. Lots of money flowing through this place. To me it is an obvious target, has been before. But all this , plus the government right next door, they would have know what went on in that building every single moment. Maybe some of those mentioned would know.
  7. My hometown!! I used to have a DJ shop downtown where hooker alley was. Fun times.
  8. Allowing the planes to hit the towers would be risky because it is possible the towers would collapse sideways and do much more damage. Blowing up the towers after the planes hit allowed the planners to have better control over the eventual outcome and ensure maximum psychological effect. Towers can't collapse sideways, you'd have to hit it with thousands of times the force of those planes. The power needed to knock a tower off its foundation and have it fall over isn't happening. Towers only collapse. With earthquakes, buildings topple over. Sideways.
  9. The allure of mystery has caused me to rethink and question the 'official' explanation. Simple as that.
  10. If I knew all the answeres I would not be asking all the questions and hypothisizing. Process of elimination here for me. Micheal Hardner. (one that has not right out ridiculed my ideas) I was meddling over another theory in my head. If there were no bombs in the building, and I personally don't think the plane impact plus fire was enough to bring them down, what about bombs on the planes themselves? This could be planted alot easier than wiring the whole WTC complex.
  11. http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/20...ent-060402.html but Every single one of us has a responsibility to participate in these changes. We all have a say in this. I do agree the west needs more equality, but I think we have appeased Quebec long enough. Any changes to the constitution should be scrutinized to the nth degree. Learn about your constitution http://lois.justice.gc.ca/en/const/index.html http://www.solon.org/Constitutions/Canada/English/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Canada And your Charter of Rights and Freedoms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Char...ts_and_Freedoms The more you know about it, the better informed you are, the more say you can have!! This is important.
  12. I only support unorganized crime in my pot use. The crime is the small grow room in my basement, which houses about 5 or 6 plants at any given time. The unorganized aspect is simply my life in general What I grow is never sold. It is for my personal use, and that of my ex-wife, who is a manic depressive and smokes for therapeutic reasons. Her doctor agrees with this usage. I would love to have the freedom to do just this. Some personal stash stuff. You would become a greenthumb real fast. Since you want to have some fine plants to smoke. Legalizing takes money away from crooks(felons) and gives it to crooks(government lol). The tax revenue on this would fund drug/alcohol abuse centers across the country. I can't see tht as a bad thing. Ok so the guy who sold pot before was a criminal now he has a legal GST number. At least he is in the fold and the government has more control over the operation. How is this a bad thing? Maybe selling it in the LCBO would be a start. Limiting the sources of it, or through proper channels. I started smoking pot after I got of anti-derpressants. And I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANTI-DEPRESSANTS!!!! I felt like a zombie more on the meds than I ever have on pot. Personaly it works for me. Being somewhat bipolar (manic -depressive) it has helped me (along with self therapy, reading learning about myself) to get out of depression. It allows me to shut my brain off when I need to. Overall my life is more stable due to pot. Oh but you say I am addicted? Well guilty as charged then. I do not drink much alcohol and would give it up totaly if pot was legal. Alcohol makes me a very very bad man.
  13. If we guage how long Harper has to screw you by how patient people were with the Liberals, Harper's got a decade or so left. I'm not that worried. I'd rather they be doing something constructive instead of talking to the press. When you have something new or constructive to say, an event to announce or something else of value to say, then talk to them. If not, they can wait. It's not up to them to do the jobs of the journalists and give them things to write about. I think the main reason the Ottawa press corps is angry is because they'll actually have to look for stories now instead of having them handed to them. Handed to them? It will now take longer for the media to get at the MPs. Before it was nice and easy, session ends, talk to the press, go home. Now with that gone. The Media has to bang on doors to get what they need, and I bet this will waste more time on both sides part. Again, government accountablility?
  14. It is natural yes. The planet has been going through hot and cold flashes for EONS. But now the real question is, are we responsible for accelerating the process?
  15. Female fighter pilots? I have seen some of the pics. I can only say 'HAWT!'
  16. The vest seemed like a 'support the troops' in a not so in your face way. Why Cancun?? Everyone needed a vacation? I would love to see more summits like this in Canada. Tell Fox and Bush to dress warm I guess that is why no one likes comming here, too cold. Well I hope something good came out of that summit. Got anything more interesting for me to check out?
  17. I hope so as well. I used to live in the Market of downtown Ottawa, and there are quite a few cameras down there. There are cameras at every embassy (granted) a few for the New RO (local channel) and some just for trarffic. Overall not bad for the capitol of Canada. I don't feel like my privacy is being invaded. I can clearly see a few cameras, but other than that, they are hard to find downtown. Monty, how many cameras could you point out at a glance? Got any nice pictures of London?
  18. Stores are private property and they can have all the cameras they want in there. Those other cameras are on public property, owned by everyone. So we need all these cameras? This is not for international terrorism. All these cameras are for domestic terrorism. Loss of faith and trust in it's own citizens.
  19. Good stuff Jerryhatrick! At least there is some clarification on things. I am gonna read this at work tonight. Keep us posted!
  20. So with the MPs and media going through the 'office', it is looking more like a White House press conference with McClelland saying not much of anything important. Government Accountability Harper, you said it yourself.
  21. From your article, How much breifing did they get? What and how much do they know about the program to make that decision? Translation? Sure Mr. President, you can wiretap all you want, but it if turns out to be bull, you are gonna be in a heap of trouble. Sure those judges are not democrats setting Mr Bushie up?
  22. This is pretty interesting. http://207.44.245.159/article7545.htm According to this FoxNews reporter, the Israelies may have known than they let on to beleive. Apperently according to what I read is that the news areticles were pulled fro FoxNews.com's archives. This shows some evidence of the Isreali spying program in the US. Looks like their website is hosted in Australia. Well, investigation continues!
  23. I was amazed to hear that Harper wanted all the media out of the Parliment halls. I can only say that this is a censorship. I think you will find the Liberals and the NDP more open to the talk in the halls. So a tighter control on the information that gets released for the media. Great. Filtered.
  24. With all due respect or at least as much as I can politely muster, your reference to tales your Nazis grandfather told you and "the Jews were given a nice peice of land in the Middle East" demonstrates an utter lack of historical perspective. As for "IN other words this is a form of sanctioned genocide" an unbelievable statement as I've ever seen on this forum. FTA's analogy Nazis analogy is appropriate to Hamas, both elected government's founded and based on terror. Now it appears you're making an analogy between Nazis and Israel and what Hamas are freedom fighters? I did not start the comparison. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Look at how Israel is consistantly grabbing land over the last few decades. What I am tired of hearing is if anyone says anything against Jews or Israel , you are considered antisemetic. I don't hate the jews, I just don't agree with what they are doing to former land called Palestine. For your records my Opa did not tell me 'the Jews were given a nice peice of land in the Middle East' and the sacntioned genocide are my statements, not his. It was my own conclusion. My Opa mostly spoke of the atrocities at Dresden, and his tours in Poland. His job was to help secure farming areas for the Nazis in Poland. I wish I could hear more from him, but he really does not like talking about those times. But as ArmyGuy is saying, I should look at just before Isreal was created. And Black Dog, you seem to understand my thoughts and put them into better words.
  25. I am gonna try to keep all the articles regarding 9/11 in this thread. FDNY calls about to be released to the public. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/03/30/attacks.9...p.ap/index.html I am anxious to get my hands on this information. I am really surprised it took this long to have these things released. I hope this sheds light on some events. Also there were more remains found in one of the buildings http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/03/28/wtc.remains.ap/index.html Also they managed to DNA identify two of the 9/11 hijackers. That must be a freakin task and a half.
