  1. waldo, do you find it harder to move the goalposts in the winter , when the ground is frozen?
  2. perhaps you should read the article, it explains the numbers quite clearly. I reckon many Canadians would be surprised to learn that residents of ME refugee camps are not beating down the doors to get in.
  3. Translation: we're going to gut the armed forces like always, then send them to foreign lands to die.
  4. It is a lot, but of course has absolutely nothing to do with what happened.
  5. Kosovo and Afghanistan were two examples of frightening undertakings that Chretien sent our armed forces on with very poor equipment after Chretien slashed their budgets. Not Mulroney, not Harper. That is fact, not partisan. And I agree with the suggestion that Trudeau will do the same, and has begun the process of both refusing to do anything meaningful to help our allies(now begin in Syria), and to beggar our men and women in service. I acknowledge that the latter is partisan and has yet to occur.
  6. I've done both. It never ends well, somebody always ends up in the fire and the chances that it was me are good. I checked with She Who Must Be Obeyed about Mens Rights. It turns out I don't have any, which I was pretty sure of already.
  7. I do have space on the bumper of my retrofitted Hummer which is powered by static electricity, hope, best wishes and the positive vibrations of singing Neil Young songs. It can go right next to the "Nuke the Gay Whales for Jesus" sticker which is getting a little faded.
  8. Yep. It is a long Liberal tradition to send our armed forces into dangerous places with substandard equipment, armaments and training. It allows them to bray that "Canada is back" while our allies wonder " WTF, not this failure again". We are back all right, way way back where we cannot be seen or heard , not doing our share as we have agreed to do with our allies.
  9. JUst anecdotal, but 48 hours in Beijing makes me very anxious to get out of there because I can not stop coughing. How about you?
  10. Ya, they must pee themselves as they add exponentially to their own and global pollution, while developed economies like ours bleat that we will willingly beggar ourselves to accomplish nothing while preening for the evening news. Or are you pretending that the Chinese and others are not adding many.any coal plants? WTF does China adding new renewables have to do with the net effect of killing you and me? Am I supposed to cheer my own demise? Oh, they are laughing at you too. Not near you, at you.
  11. I'd like to see what the CBC presence abroad has cost in the last few weeks. They'll have to sell even more of their high sought world class programming to pay for all the crews and talking heads that have been in Paris and elsewhere, reporting on The Anointed.
  12. Why cant concerned Americans organize a massacre event where it would really help: NRA HQ?
  13. That means you are a bad person. I am a good person, and my personal contribution to reduce greenhouse gases is to hold my breath as long as I can as often as I can. I already feel much better about myself.
  14. In Alberta we are watching the Ontario electricity scenario, carefully noting all the mistakes made, and copying all of them plus adding some of our own so we too can drive industry out permanently and burden future generations with massive debt. Thanks for the leadership, it saves us a lot of time, though getting to $300 billion in the hole takes us a little while when you start from $zero debt. Please be patient.
  15. Ex Machina features Oscar Isaac, who is on a serious roll the last couple of years. He has been around for a while, but has been really good lately in leading roles in Inside Llewyn Davis, was great in the understated underrated A Most Violent Year, good if Ex Machina, and and very good in the HBO series Show Me A Hero. He has become one of those young actors that I'll go watch their movies because they are in it. I hope this is not a bad idea on my part, since his next two roles are in the new Star Wars and the upcoming XMen Part 17. I hope he can make these potential turds better,
  16. I hope they can patch up all those holes in him that let pucks through
  17. On waivers? He might get picked up.
  18. Yeah but it is much easier to become a teacher etc than to be an ace major league pitcher. And Prices value drops to nada overnight if we all stopped being entertained at the same time.
  19. I'm just answering jacee, who keeps asking who has actually worked looking after small kids- anybody who has not is not permitted to speak. . I put my hand up. How about you?
  20. If is is a 24/7 job being a nanny for the Trudeaus so they can both get their vital work done, then these two are severely overworked, exploited even. What with weekends, shiftwork, training periods, time off for sickness, and vacations you need about six people at least to cover all the shifts. And they need a living wage, becuase this is 2015.
  21. Oh and just to display my creds, I am a white male that has looked after my own children for significant periods while my spouse furthered her career. It was a family decision and the right one. I was unpaid. I loved it.
  22. I see. One woman -Ms Gregoire-Trudeau- is gladly provided with free child care by taxpayers. Ms Teskey-Hrper is denied pay for exactly the same work and advised to sue to get a penny. Your hatred for women is disquieting.
  23. Yet you refuse to endorse paying Laureen Harper for 10 years of exploitation by the taxpayers of Canada. Your selective misogyngy is very disappointing.
  24. They were not older when Harper took office as PM, a verifiable fact.
