  1. THat's so sad for Canada, no wonder our society is doomed to failure. Outright theft along with, lying and corruption are the order of the day in every Provincial Legislature, the House of Commons, and even at the municipal level. Little wonder that our population is so apathetic and many do not even bother to vote anymore at election-time, why bother? Last I checked there is no spot on the ballot for "None of the above." Maybe it's time we got back to the basics, and make it possible for ordinary hard-working Canadians to take a run at politics, instead of a bunch of corrupt lawyers, and business people. Right now the ordinary person does not have the financial means to participate even at the municipal level, especially in the urban centres.
  2. Tell me, are you able to predict from one minute to the next waht new scandal or corruption is going to surface regardling the LPC. The only thing predictable about the LPC is that they are willing to do just about anything to hold onto power. As far as the scary part goes that applies for me to the LPC, because there is nothing democratic or law-abiding about their tactics. My God they have even turned over decision making in this country to a bunch of appointed moronic judges because they don't actually want be held responsible for their decisions. This way they can sit back and say those big bad judges made us do it. Mazrtin has already used that lame argument with regards to same-sex marriages, because he knows that given a choice in a referendum, the majority of the people of Canada would not support this legislation. The reality is that the moronic judiciary was appointed for the most part, by themselves to do thier bidding, independent, my ass, they know who signs their pay-cheque, and who they owe for the appointment.
  3. French citizen's just turned thumbs down on the EU Constitution, much to the chagrin of Jacque, and good for them. However in Canada we had no such vote on our Constitution, not the Charter. This was simply imposed upon us by those that authored it, now we are expected to live with it. When are the people of Canada going to realize that we do not even have a counrty anymore whereby we can hold our politician accountable, because somehow the Charter has given the decision making powers to an appointed and unaccountable judiciary. Paul Martin has even said publically that as far as he's concerned the final word in this country rests with the judiciary, and ultimately the Supreme Court. It doesn't really matter whether those decisions are coming from a Provincial Court Judge or one from the Supreme Court. since all are appointed by the federla government. We could try a tax revolt but our government even has that covered by making it law that employers are required by law to withhold taxes at source, or face fines, and automatic penalties imposed by the Canada Revenue Agency, without even having to go to court to impose those penalties. We really have no options other than an outright revolt. even there the government has attempted with their gun registration, to make sure they know who does and who doesn't have guns in their possession. I have to question whether this is truly a free country or not. Seems to me that it isn't. We gave up the freedom that our citizens fought two world wars for, without even a whimper. I guess we deserve the government that we have, because we let it happen!
  4. I disagree! When has a bunch of lawyers ever made a smart decision? I remeber a lawyer joke that went something like how do you tell when one is lying? His lips are moving! A good many of our federal politician are lawyers and we all know how smart and honest our federal politicinas, especially after the revelations coming out of the Gomery Inquiry . We elect politicians so that when they screw up we can hold them accountable at election time. Tell me, when do we get to hold this bunch of appointed, unaccountable judges reponsible for some of their stupid decisons? I'll tell you when, we cannot hold them responsible for anything, since they are appointed to the bench until age 75 regardless of how incompetent they are. We have simply no recourse to make them accountable, and that is especially true of the Supreme Court since our own Prime Mininster stated publically that as far as he is concerned they ARE the final word in this country. I'm quite sure that I am not comfortable with a scenario whereby a bunch of appointed, unaccountable judges get to make decisions for the whole of the country, and they are not subject to the will of the people. To me that smacks of dictatorship! Maybe it is time to just do away with elections in Canada and just admit that we are not a democracy after all, but simply a dictatorship, like Cuba, North Korea, or China. At least it would be truthful! What did our people die in two world wars for? Was it for freedom? If it was, why are we now willing just to hand that freedom over to an unelcted body, like the Supreme Court? What is wrong with this picture, and what is wrong with you people? I for one do not want to have any body in this country not open to scrutiny, especially a bunch of lawyers!
  5. Obviously with all of those different police agencies involved it was in fact a cooperative operation. Why would they extradite them to the US for prosecution? Because the drugs were being smuggled into the United States who for good reason takes a pretty dim view of trafficking in any illicit drug, unlike Canada who would probably sentence a major trafficker to house arrest so that jail does not interfere with their ability to continue brreaking the law (I think those convicted would call it simply making a living). Our justice system is the laughing stack of the world, no wonder international criminals like Canada, when we elect thieves and liars to run our country.
  6. I don't think separation is being talked about especially in New Brunswick because we rely so heavily on Ottawa for everything, and our Acadian population will really suffer when Quebec finally leaves. (I can't wait) No more money flowing from Heritage Canada to fund Acadian initiatives, which most New Brunswicker neither need nor want.Alberta I can see pulling the plug, and who can blame them? The only Province in Canada self-sustainable, Why would they stay and pay $billions into federal coffers only to have Martin/Chretien use it to make their Liberal friends in Quebec and Ontario richer than they already are.
  7. I'm with Tweal on this one. Over 15 years ago Canada made a committment ot eliminate child poverty in Canada by the year 2000. Here it is 2005 and the poverty rate is getting worse every year. The gap betwen rich and poor is getting larger as we speak, and you're talking about foreign aid. We need to spend money inside Canada to help our own before we continue to spend money in that bottomless pit called the UN and it's agencies. I have been involved in the food bank industry for over 7 years and at our little food bank the statistics continue to increase at alarming rates. These people in many cases are not on income assistance (welfare), they actually work at jobs. Costs of everything, including food, heating cost, medicines, gasoline, and the list could go on and on, and wages have just not kept pace with these increases in the cost of living. Corporations continue on with their greed for profits and they could care less whether people have any food on the table, it simply doesn't concern them. IN my Province of New Brunswick, our own Premier had the gaul to suggest that the people of the Province could not only afford a 10%-12% increase in their power rates, but support the increase. That's the type of atttitude coming from a Premier? No wonder corporations feel unhindered in increasing their rates for every other item associated with the necessities of life. It is simply shameful for a country as rich as Cnada to have people relying on food banks and soup kitchens to stave off the hunger pangs. Then we have people like MR. Lewis more interested in people in foreign countries, than he is with those right here in Canada. I care about those in other countries who are starving and suffering from terrrible diseases, but we need to look after our own first before we can think about other's. We have plenty of kids right here in Canada going to bed hungry. Now I'll get down off the soap-box.
  8. The PQ government is telling their people that they will have extra $billions if they separate from Canada, yet they are already heavily in debt, and that's without taking into consuderation the fact that they will have to assume approximately 25% of Canada's national debt, since they have close to 1/4 of the population within their borders. Where these $ billions will come from is a mystery since Quebec already collects, retains and administers their own Income Taxes, QPP, and EI funds. They presently get far more from Ottawa then they contribute, so is this magic money that is somehow going to materialize out of thin air?Let's not forget the minute they separate Quebec MP's will not be at the table to negotiate a friendly departure package, since these people will no longer have any standing in Canada, and that will include many cabinet ministers, including Martin. There will be a massive departure from Quebec of all federal entities, including the movement of military bases and equipment, not to speak of the private corporations who will also want nothing to do with Quebec as a country, let alone be saddled with the prospect of huge tax increase to service the debt-load of the new country of Quebec. I just wish they would make up their minds to either stay or go. If they are going to stay it should be on exactly the same terms as the other Provinces, with no special deals or treatment. Quebce has been getting special treatment for so long that the other Provinces are now seeking special little deals as well, and that is not good for the country as a whole.
  9. Tweal, if you like maybe we can arrage for Karla to move in next door to you. You'll probably be safe, but the young girls in your neighbourhood not be quite so fortunate, especially if she hooks up with another guy who likes what she likes, torturing, raping and killing young girls. From my perspective, I am not comfortable at all with releasing violent sexual predator onto an unsuspecting society. Neither Karla Holmoka, nor Karl Toft should ever be allowed out of prison unless there can be a guarantee that these people won't again pray on our kids. If there is the remotest chance of reoffending, violent sexual predators should be kept locked up for the rest of their natural lives. That's just called the protection of society which is what our laws are supposed to accomplish. Rehabilitation is a vague concept, grasped by only those who are self-motivated by wanting to change theri lot in life. Made a mistake and changed their lives to become productive, law-abiding members of society. All the programs in the world are not going to do anything for career criminals except teach them how to manipulate the system to get early releases, so they can resume their life of crime. Success cases are those who rehabilitate themselves, leave incarceration, pick new friends, and get on with living. Those that leave jail and resume hanging out with the same types of people that they got into trouble with, will just lead to more jail-time.
  10. With the revalation that Karla just had a sexual type relationship with another inmate and exchanged underwear with him, I would suggest that she is just as dangerous as she was the day she entered prison. She was told that she was to have no contact with this individual and she did anyway, just before going to court to have her lawyer plead for her release unencumbered by restrictions. I worked in the system for a nuber of years with youth. One of the youth at our facility a number of years ago was only 17 years of age but was already a sexual predator. He sexually molested a 6 year old boy, and the real disturbing part of it all was that he saw absolutely nothing wrong with what he did, and he talked quite freely about his crime, although he did not perceive it to be a crime. Karla is a sexual predator and she along with another notorious sexual predator, the infamous Karl Toft, who is also schelduled for release shortly. Karl if you will remember is the former guard at the Youth Training Centre in New Brunswick who pled guilty to sexually assaulting over 200 young boys that were in his care. Deal or no deal, sexual predator should never be released from prison as long as they pose even a remote chance that they will reoffend. Karla is one sick puppy and should be kept right where she belongs, in a cage. This isn't about rehabilitation or punishment, this is about the safety of society, especially our most vulnerable, children. Imagine, hat nut-case psychiatrist from Montreal, spending a measly 2 1/2 hours with Karla, and going to court to testify that she poses no significant threat to reoffend. I would sugget they lock up this nut-case with Karla and Karl. No wonder most people have no faith in psychiatry, with people like this with licences to practice.
  11. That's a little like asking your partner from your latest bank robbery to step forward and turn themselves in, so that you can go free. Layton and the NDP is all that has kept the corrupt Liberal government in power. For Layton to now ask a co-conspirator to step aside is a bit hypocritical. Layton and the NDP are the reason the vote was so close, and is he really naive enough to believe that Martin will honor all of the promises he made to secure NDP support. If he is really that naive, I have some ocean-front property for Jack, in Arizona.
  12. Both of them should bear the responsibility for this theft of taxpayer's money. Chretien for setting up this program in the first place to placate Quebec, and Martin because he was the Finance Minister and should have known where our money was going. Martin was either incompetent or ignored what was going on and just let it happen. Either way he was responsible far more than he would have Canadian's believe. For all those who are sitting back believing that Gomery is going to make these big revelations and point fingers at those at the top, I think you are all going to be sadly disappointed. When have you ever seen a politician held responsible for theft and incompetence? If they could be held up to public scrutiny and made to be responsible for incompetence or outright theft, all politicians would fit into that category. Since politicians know that they are above the law, they have no fear of ever being held truly accountable to the people. Sure we get to turf them to the curb at the next trip to the polls, big deal, and besides that many Canadian's have extremely short memories, especially when being bribed with your own money, just as Martin is doing with all these funding announcements right across Canada. Besides the fact that the more Quebec whines the more Ottawa gives them. They woulkd be stupid to leave, but I'll be glad to hold the door open for them, and close it firmly behind them. When they leave they can also take with them the Acadian whiners in New Brunswick. We get the government we deserve and for those staunch Liberal supporters, too stupid to realize that the people you voted into office are nothing but a corrupt, bunch of thieves and liars, don't start crying when all of these promises come home to roost, and another round of cuts in services is announced after they get back into power with a majority. You should be asking yourselves, "Where did he get all thins money he is sprinking around Canada, when less than six months ago, there was no money for anything, the cupboard was bare."
  13. As for the international court, the US wisely decided to not sign over their sovereignty to any body controlled by the UN. The UN has proven itself to be an ineffectual, corrupt body controlled by corrupt people including Kofi and his son. This organization sttod by and allowed people to be slaughtered in Sudan and many other places. In other countries they have failed to make sure non-proliferation treaties were neing floowing but at the same time tried to tie up US decision making by wimp countries like Germany & France. My the very country's attempting to to control the EU. Germany waged war twice on their European neighbours in an attempt to conquer them, and if it had not been for the Allies, Brittain, Canada, Australia, and the United States they would all be goose-stepping right now. I would suggest the EU is another attempt at accomplishing this goal only this time without firing a shot. Even the French people are smart enough to vote not to give up their sovereighty, aganist the wishes of Chirac. I would bet if the country's who's parliaments have voted for the Constitution, had been allowed to vote by referrendum, the same result may have been seen right across Europe. Funny how the countries who threatened to use veto power to stop any Iraq invasion, like France, Germany, and Russia are the same countries who have been implicated in the oil for food scam, along with the UN itself.
  14. I beg to difer, they were not religious fanatics, they were just nutcases, attempting to use the Koran to justify their own madness. Even Muslim clerics attest to the fact that they were not in fact following religious beliefs, Muslim or otherwise. McVey did exactly the same type of thing and it had nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with the fact he was nuts.
  15. I take it then that you also want to include money and power into that, since in the case of the top corporate executives and our politicians, money and power is their religion. Where do you people think the concept of right and wrong came from? It was religion based, and is taught by all religions across this world. It would certainly be a sad day if religions were abolished, because society as a whole has done everything it can to help destroy this old world of ours, and things certainly are not getting any better, especially here in Canada where politicians now want to change the definition of marriage to suit a small vocal minority. This definition predates Canada even so how do these politicians and a bunch of nut-case appointed judges think that they have the right to change the definition of an institution that they had no part in defining in the first place. The other aspect is that people of belief will never accept same-sex marriages regardless of what legislation get's passed. Terrorist attacks on innocent civilians is an example of what life would be like without the influence of Christian and other types of Faith. Most laws are loosely based on The Ten Commandments. even ancient peoples believed in a Higher Power. What's going on in Quebec today is a result of a justice system gone way too far with the rights of perpetrators. Karla Holmolka even shed a tear at the thought of not being able to get out of jail and resume her twisted lefestyle of abusing and killing innocent victims. I read where some nut-case psychiatrist is willing to testify in Karla's behalf. We here in my city had one of these nut-cases testify that a mother with Maunchaucin Syndrome by Proxy was not a danger to her child, after she had been already caught attempting to make her child dangerously ill. Most psychiatrist's need one in my estimation.
  16. Many 14 year old know exactly what they are doing and that it is wrong. I once had a 14 year old who was involved in approximately 25 B & E's. His accomplice was an adult and the judge ruled that the 14 year old was the ring leader. The adult was rather slow, and all of the B&E's were planned by this youth. When he entered the group home he immediately set about attempting to manipulate one staff against the other, He disliked anyone who called him on his inappripriate behaviour, and sucked up to those he felt he could influence. He lived with a Grandmother rather than his mother, because his mother had finally had quite enough of his criminal behaviour. He once cursed and swore at his Grandmother on the phone because she wouldn't sign a consent to allow him to smoke at the group home, and he swore at her when she refused to drive 2 hours to bring him cigarettes, after he talked her into giving consent to allow his smoking. (The group home has since gone non-smoking for everyone, including staff) He would curse and swear at staff that refused to purchase tobacco products for him, even though to do so was against the law for the staff members. He did however manage to convince one smoking staff member to quietly sneak cigarettes to him. As for his B & E's he had absolutely no remorse for his victims. In fact his comment was that if they were stupid enough not to have insurance that was their problem. He also stated that the cops would not catch him again because he would get a smarter partner that would not rat him out, as he put it. True to his word when he was finally released from the group home after 4 months, he did get himself another partner, but regardless, he was promptly caught and charged with a further 15 B & E's, and several breeches of probation. He was sentenced to secure custody although he did ask the judge to be returned to the group home, because he liked some of the staff there. My manage who was quite taken with him once asked me what I thought a success case was from the group home, and I responded that it was a youth who came into custody, followed the rules, got respect and gave it, left the group home, returned home and stayed away from crime, the police and the court system. She asked my specifically if I thought that this youth was a success, and I told her he was one of the worst failures that ever left our group home. She looked genuinely puzzled by my response, and asked why I didn't think he was a sucess case. I answered he question with one of my own, which was, "Where is he right now?" I tehn proceeded to answer my own question since she did not seem to want to, I said, "He's where he belongs. In jail for doing the very crime that got him time in the group home, in the first place." If my sources are correct he is spending his life in and out of jail for various offences. Yes, I do remember having many successes from the group home, and I have had many adults come up to me on the stret, and thank me for the respect that I gave them when they were in custody, and for the direction I gave them to turn their life's around. I have had other former staff tell me they have had similar experiences with former client's Some I often wonder about, but I guess if I am not reading their names "In The Courts" in the local papers, they must be doing alright. Unfortunately I have read at least four names of former client's who have since committed murder. One of them was originally charged with manslaughter, ended up being released early and has since been involved in another killing, been convicted of murder and is doing life. The sad fact is that particular kid was really messed up from an early age due to sexual abuse within his own family.
  17. Cybercoma; The truth about this youth is that he knew exactly what he was doing, and his motivation was to intimidate his aunt to get the desired result. He knew enough that he didn't want to live with his mother and father in another Province, because as he said himself, he can't do what he wants to do when he lives with them. He would rather live in an atmosphere where intimidation gets him what he wants. I don't call that metally ill nor mentally immature. I call it what it is, someone who knows what he wants and is willing to do whatever he has to to get it. Take that attitude and behaviour a little farther and you have a sociopath. Simply who simply does whatever he pleases regardless of who they hurt in the process, The only thing that matters is that they get what they want. That is called a criminal mentality and nothing more. If we are going to give youth's an excuse to use for unacceptable behaviour, we better expect that they are going to use that excuse, and if we are not going to make youth's discover a little thing called natural consequences, then we had better continue to expect youths to make stupid choices. We all have choices in life, including youths. When I grew up talking back to teachers or other authority figures was not only not acceptable, but was not tolerated. Today we have youth's who start out taking back to parent's because parents are not willing to let these youth's live with the consequences of bad decisions. Instead we go out of our way to make sure that they do not have to live with the consequences of bad decisions. IE: The natural consequence of not attending classes, failing to study or pay attention in class is to fail th3e course and not be promoted. In many school settings today, that consequence is not there because some social engineer has decided that it will hurt little Johnny's psychological upbringing to hold little Johnny back, so they promote him/her to the next level even though he/she does not have a passing knowledge of the work, so that he/she will be in an age-appropriate setting, and then we wonder why we are graduating functionally illiterate graduates. Go figure. Again a case of social engineer's who live in some utopia making decisions that have bad consequences in the future. Come to think of it, many of these socially promoted individuals are taking up space in our jails and prisons. Society cannot function without laws and consequences for not following those laws, but in our modern society somehow we think we can avoid the consequences of not making our youth comply with rules, and laws. Myself I think we need to get back to the basics, and stop making excuses for our youth who do not want to follow rules and laws. We need to make them accountable for their decisions, especially when those decisions are bad ones.
  18. For starters most psychiatrist's need one. They are so busy inventing mental illnesses to give bad people the excuses they need so that they are not held accountable for their actions, that they have not had time to realize that they are so full of it, their eyes are brown.I worked in the the system for over ten years and actually had youth's tell me they did what they did because they are ADD, or ADHD. Verbally and physically assualting teachers and other authority figures in many cases because this person called them on theri outrageous behaviour or attitudes. I had one youth who didn't want to live with his parents because they wouldn't let him do as he pleased, when he wanted to do it. He wanted to live in my Province with an aunt because she hadn't yet figured out that he was using her to be able to do what he wanted to do. She quickly found out one weekend what he was really all about when she picked him up for a weekend pass and she was told in front of him that under the terms of his weekend pass he was not to be out without being in her or her husband's company. Upon leaving the group home he demanded that she drop him off at his friend's place, a person he was not to have contact with, and when she refused his request he immediatrely became very violent and thank God it was the vehicle he took out his anger on instead of her. He trashed the inside of her vehicle by leaning back in the seat and kicked the dash of her vehicle to pieces. When he realized that she was mad he simply apologized the asked again to be dropped off at his friend's. He was dropped off, but it wasn't at his friend's place, it was back at the group home. It was then that he threatened to kill her for being as he put it, "A rat!" When he was charged and ended up back before a judge he was simply given more probation, and he had the nerve to ask this same aunt if he could take his passes at her home. Smartly she said definitely no. When he left the group home he was acting as an enforcer for one of our other client's who was dealing drugs. Last I heard he has graduated to the adult system. Without making these youth's responsible for the crimes they are committing they are setting them up for the adult system. The only reason youth crime statistics are down somewhat is because they are not being made responsible for their crimes when they first start down the path of criminal behaviour, and they are only showing up now in the system when they reach that magic age of 18 years. Even then they wind up committing numerous offences as adults before they finally wind up incarcerated behind actual bars. The new jail, House Arrest, commonly referrred to as Community Sentencing, is the next new joke bleeding heart reformer's are perpetrating on us. I have worked with many people who have the misconception that "There is no such thing as "BAD KIDS." In fact our Executive Director made that statement at a staff meeting, and warned staff that he did not want to ever hear a staff member refer to a youth as being BAD. The truth is that he had never worked front-line with Young Offenders, and was quoting this crap from some textbook written by some bleeding heart Criminology Professor. That's the problem, in many cases policies and decisions are being made by people who talk the talk, but they have never walked the walk. These laws are being made by lawyers who live in some fantasy-land in consultation with social engineers who think they know what is best for everyone. Unfortunately in the case of the Youth Justice Act, Young Offender Act, or whatever that want to call it next week or next year, they are wrong.
  19. Legislation or no legislation it will never be acceptable to most Canadians.
  20. She doesn't like the policies of the CPC, even though she helped craft that very policy?? The truth is that walking across the floor was all about power and had absolutely nothing to do with what's good of Canadians. She didn't like the idea that daddy's money could buy her everything in life except the leadership of the CPC, so she has settled for second best, crossed the floor for a Cabinet Minister's position, with ambitions to replace Martin just as soon as she thinks Martin has his back turned long enough. Let's not forget one thing here, rich people are motivated by power. Money buys privilege, and privilege buys power. Belinda has all the money daddy could give her, now she wants the power that she feels her money commands.
  21. Are any of you writing on this thread naive enough to believe that the Gomery Inquiry will ever produce a report that points fingers at sitting MP's or politicians no longer in power? I happen to believe that this report will be sterile and will not point fingers at anyone in positions of power or authority. At best, some petty bureaucrat will wind up as a scapegoat, and maybe end up with house arrest for a short while. Paul Martin will declare that the Liberal's did nothing wrong, because no LIberal was found to be responsible, and things will carry on as they always have until the next scandal get's discovered. I happen to believe that Justice Gomery's mandate under Section (K) does not allow him to express his own opinion as to who he believes and who he doesn't believe.
  22. The Liberal's have a bad record of NOT spending money on anything military, It was Liberal's who closed the Air Force at CFB Chatham, NB. It was Liberal's who cancelled an order for safe helicopters to replace the ancient Sea King's and a number of Military personnel have died because these worn out pieces of junk fell out of the sky. It was Liberal's who put our servicemen at risk by inadequate equipment in Afghanistan. It was Liberal's who bought bargain basement junk tehy choose to call submarines and one young serviceman lost his life and several other's were seriously injured. All of this while the Defence Minister dithers along with his leader, all the while attempting to defend their lack of financial committment to our military. Didn't I jsut read or hear on the news the other day that the Navy made a huge announcement that finally one of those subs was finally put to sea from the West Coast. Oh, now I remember, they had to limp back to port because of serious mechanical problems. Had they spent the money on fulfilling a deal for helicopters that was already in place when Chretien took office, instead of cancelling the deal at a cost of hundres of $millions, had new subs manufactured here in Canada or bought modern subs from teh US, we would still have these dead military personnel visiting their wives, children and other members of their family's. As for the Liberal's committment of keeping open CFB Goose Bay, I wouldn't take that cheque to the bank any time soon. I still remember their committment to CFB Chatham. So much for Liberal promises. They are just like the rest of the promises contained in Red Book's I, II, and III, nothing but fantasies for gullible Liberal's.
  23. Who are you trying to kid? Liberal's until recent years was always a force to be reconned with in Quebec, while the PC's, Conservatives NDP and all of the other political parties have only ever elected a few members from Quebec. Make no mistake, it is in fact the Liberal's who have caused the Quebec people to overwhelingly support the Bloc. For some strange reason some people feel that the leader of a politcal party must be from Quebec in order to deserve a vote. I on the other hand am quite tired of having a PM from a Province that seems to have a penchant for electing people to the Parliament of Canada that only seem to care about the well-being of Quebec while the rest of the country could fall apart for all they care. I will never again support a party who's leader is from Quebec. If Quebec ever stops threatening and actually votes to leave I want a PM in place that is from Canada, not a foreign country.
  24. That's where you got it totally wrong Tweal. Harper represents a new Party, albiet a combination of the PC's and the Alliance. Both have different philosophies, but found enough common ground to actually put together some ideas to make some beneficial changes to the political landscape in this country. Sure Mulroney is a member but he is not the leader. On the other hand Martin is just an extension of the same old bunch that were there under Chretien, the most corrupt PM this country has ever seen. Martin made no changes when he took over from that moron Chretien, in fact he carried on with the status quo, even to the point of keeping many of Chretien's corrupt Ministers in place, so they could continue to feed their friend's in the ad business. Yes Mulroney was corrupt, and is definitely in the same category as both Chretien and Martin. I for one did not support any of them for that very reason. Harper on the other hand has not had the chance to prove whether he can do something positive for this country or not. Blindly following the Chretien, Martin strategy of fearmongering, and demonizing Harper will do nothing but prove my point which is that some people continue to wear blinders and refuse to admit that the government we have in power right now is simply an extension of Chretien's reign, and that is nothing but a bunch of thieves and liars who are willing to do anything or say anything to hang onto power. This not about good government anymore, because I don't think the Liberal's and the senior civil servants they have put in place are capable of giving us good government. They buy off unprincipled people like Stronach with promises of power and prestige, and they attempt to buy off Canadian's with our own money by sprinkling it around in electioneering style announcements. I don't know whether Harper is better or worse that what we have right now, but I do know the LIberal's have become arrogant and corrupt, just as Mulroney was before he was kicked to the curb by Canadian's. I don't feel we have much of a choice but to rid ourselves of this present government one way or another. Either keep what we have and watch this country go down the tubes or try someone different and see if things will improve, God knows they are not going to improve under Martin and the Liberals. Martin is not the solution, and neither is Layton, they are the problem. Let's look at this logically, Belinda said that she was switching to the Liberal's because the Conservatives were siding with the Bloc, and therefore were a threat to Canadian unity. Well it wasn't the Conservatives who attempted to buy Quebec votes through ADSCAM, that was a Liberal initiative. Support for the Bloc has never been higher in Quebec because of the Liberal's not the Conservatives. Anyone would have to be blind or ignorant to believe Belinda's jumped to the Liberal's for any other reason than the promise of power, because money is not what motivates Belinda, power is.
  25. The terrible shame of it all is that Kimmy & Tweal will believe just about anything the Lieberal's say, talk about brain washed. I think most Canadian's know by now that this is a party of thieves and liars, and they will do and say just about anything to hang onto power. If Martin is so confident that he has the support of the people of Canada, then he should desolve Parliament and seek a rightful mandate from the people. He is not willing to do that because he is well aware that the people of this country are totally pissed, and want his head on a platter, along with the rest of the thieves and liar from his side of the house. As for waiting for the Gomery Inquiry, I predict that it is nothing more than a whitewash, and stalling tactic in the hopes that some othr crisis will develop so that people will forget about the theft of taxpayer's money by Liberal ad agencies and let's not forget the kickbacks to the Party. We can only hope that the people of Labrador aren't naive enough to believe that the Lieberal's are about to put some money into military spending, especialy in Newfoundland & Labrador. Sure they'll tell them whatever it is they want to hear to get them to vote Liberal. Now I might believe spending money to move more of our military to Quebec, because they have already moved a good portion of it there already.
