I disagree, Self Determination is brought on by ones own will. While Enviroment will have an effect on a persons overall makeup people still have the ability to choose to live an effective life or not. As an example how many from rags to riches stories have we heard? Or people overcoming great personal difficulties in there lives and achieving greatness. You absolutely are in control of your own destiny. Choices define a person, not their enviroment.

My genetic makeup has nothing to do with my ability to be sucessful. Hardwork, Determination, training, and ambition are what drives me. But you are right on one point. We are the vessels that allow such Philosophy to survivie by proping up the kind of people who believe it is there right to something they did not earn. But your wrong about one thing. There are people out there who will not be duped into letting people of the philosophy you preach leech off them. I am one of them.

Benny, The Belief you follow is that of a virus. You believe people should live off eachother in a symbiotic relationship based on need regardless of ability. The problem is, certain people excel while others fall short. Why should the needs of those who have no ability be more important than those who strive for the best? Thats correct, Which is why I stated we have to make it lucrative for companies to 1. Hire and pay more, 2. Provide working health care benefits. The best way within are system is to provide tax cuts to offset the cost. If you wanna see Universal health care? Make having health care for companies much cheaper then not.

Yes but you don't encourage participation in the economy by taking MORE money away from people. You provide Incentives. Which is why Corporations get such large tax breaks. If we need to change anything it would be Tax breaks for corporations for going above and beyond. Such as tax breaks for providing Health Care for their employees or paying higher wages then then the standard for whatever industry they are in. This would free up money for R&D and production.

Are you sure your not mistaking the ability to report and treat mental illness in rich countries with the inability to treat and majority unreported cases of mental illness in poor countries? I would guess theres just as much loonies in any country as there are here. Its just that in western society we have social programs in place to deal with those we can not treat and try and help those we can.

Anyone who because of lack of ability to Create wealth thinks that it is there right to take what they have not earned. Or anyone who feels that because somebody has wealth, inherited or earned, they do not deserve it. Because the root question is, If they do not deserve the wealth they earned or inherited, why do you? Theres a word for that, its called Stealing. Now I have a question for you. why when we steal from somebody of a lower class its bad we get arrested for it, but if we steal from the rich its righteous?
