U.S. Election Polls
moderateamericain replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Fair enough but a 3 percent Deviation. Could be up to a 6 percent swing either way. so base 44 Mccain to 48 Obama could really be 47 mccain, 45 Obama or 51 Obama 41 Mccain I guess my point is one shows Mccain kicking ass the other Obama, you gotta take those with a grain of salt. -
Why Doesn't the US Respect Canada More?
moderateamericain replied to jbg's topic in Canada / United States Relations
The topic is why doesn't the US respect Canada. I just showed you the mind set of the average American in regards to Canada. If you stood back a second and didnt let your emotions get in the way of your reason. You would re-read what I wrote and realize that I was giving you the realistic reason. Do I ever post in the Canadian politics threads, no I dont, do you know why? Because I know I dont have a good enough base knowledge to comment on Canadian politcs and lifestyle to offer an opinion. Canadians however have absolutely no problem telling Americans whats wrong with us and how we should fix it. Hypocrisy. The problem is that Canadians have an inferority complex and there way of dealing with it is calling us Ignorant and Un-educated. Look at the rest of the world, the US is far more educated then most of it. I got a news flash for you and this goes for all Canadians, you are not any smarter then the rest of NA. -
U.S. Election Polls
moderateamericain replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Yeah fair enough, some people do buy into em tho I think the last post said 48 to 44 percent. Wonder where the sampling was taken. and what the standard deviation was. If the sample was among Liberal New York city I would say its slightly skewed. -

Im german and Native American. I would like compensation for the trail of tears and the rest of the world bombing my country....twice. Never mind that distant relatives were Nazi and in some way or another might have contributed to the Holacaust. You owe me regardless. My people suffered. BLAH BLAH BLAH I just want to start handing out pamphletes with a picture of a bridge over water with a caption on one side saying "Sorry we hurt your feelings" and on the back it can say "Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get the fuck over it." -

O for christ sakes I give up. My point was Most Americans dont even give two shits. Any American that shows up here is attempting to better there knowledge about your country. Which the other 200 million of us dont care to do. -

Yeah I gather that from alot of peoples beliefs on the forum. Only thing I can say about that is Europe has had thousands of years to become a world power and the only thing they managed to do in the last two centuries is peak and crash, start a couple of wars, and lose any real ability to project power. I mean the Europeanian Union is a great idea economically. I think they are on the rebound but theres not a single country that can say they have achieved what the US has in 230+ years. If I were a canadian politician I would seek my own council then look at anything the European's have done. -

Jesus make one joke about Canada and everyone gets a cork in there ass. But seriously all joking aside about popsicle countries. I mean outside of logging, oil, fishing and camping. What the fuck does anyone really care about Canada? Im not try to frost your balls here (if you have em) or tear down Canada but your not exactly a world player. Yeah you got some wicked good Hockey but besides that.... You guys like to play the middle ground peace keeper types. Nobody likes a fence poster. And enough with this Ignorant crap, Canada isnt a person or sex. YOu guys act like were racist against Canadians if we don't know everything about Canada! The mere fact that you have Americans here that take an Intrest in whats going on there should be satisfaction enough for you guys. Most Americans wouldn't even bother to learn. -
Gun Control
moderateamericain replied to moderateamericain's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You could just get some heavy duty chains and toss them across the road, then when they get close, just back the tractor up and..... all you would need is something 9mm or better after that. -

If, god forbid, the US government tried to disarm the population of the United states, Id do whatever I could to stop it. The UK is on its way to losing its democracy. Canada Im not really sure about you guys yet. -

My opinion Pro Abortion under certain pretext such as rape, or the mothers extreme young age, or inability to adequetly care for her child Pro stem cell research. Pretty wild for a crazy gun nut huh? And why are we worried about Obama and Palin's experience? Both are most likely Just as capable as George W Bush and probably a good deal smarter. As far as Palin is concerned I look at her as a women with a good bit of common sense to her. She is also not tainted by Washington DC Politics (yet). Maybe that good country common sense will rub off on Mccain a bit. Weve had career politicians for president for so long, nobody seems to like it, why not try something different. -
Gun Control
moderateamericain replied to moderateamericain's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Ill give this ago again. Number one. No private citizen should have need for Military Hardware. Including Military combat vehicles, Heavy caliber weapons (M60 etc) explosives. Number two. Every private citizen should be able to buy up to semi automatic rifles (including assault stock weapons that cannot be converted) ASSUMING they pass a background check. If you have a criminal record or a history of mental health issues you should be denied the right to purchase a firearm. Number three, the people of the US should impeach anyone who try's to appeal the 2nd amendment. Is that crystal clear enough for ya eyeball -

moderateamericain replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Straw man argument, I'm not saying that the restricting automatic weapons and and bombs and military hardware is wrong. I'm talking rifles, handguns, shotguns. And were talking about disarming the population. Which is what I'm against. I don't think anyone needs a fully automatic AR 15, heck even the Military doesn't use fully automatic until you get to m60 or bigger. Number 1 its a waste of ammo, number two you can't hit shit fully automatic in small arms fire. -

Whats that? No words ever stopped a tank from rolling over your house. Ask the Georgians or the French twice, or the....well i could go on but theres just too many examples to list them all. Look we all got an object lesson this last month from the Georgia fiasco. Moral Imperatives dont mean dick when the other guys got more guns. -

You linked nothing, Your post are you own conjecture, so are my mine but atleast I post something backing up my points. I never said I didn't insult you. My post: I believe this, this arcticle agrees with me link Your post: Your IGNORANT! no link, no reasoning. But hey If you think Im gonna shed a tear over you you got another thing coming. I just feel pitty for you. Because if it ever comes to a break down in democracy here you wont pick a side and you will just get chewed up. Thats okay tho, convictions are easy to avoid I understand. -

Tell that to the people of Zimbabwe or Guatemala, or Uganda, or pretty much anywhere mass disarment occured. Germany was a Democracy when Hitler was elected too. -

Intrestingly enough i have provided examples and sources for my points, you have only attempted to Insult my charachter. But what can I expect? But Im the hothead lowlife because I draw a line in the sand on what im willing to put up with my government. Well be my guest and give away your protection willingly. I might end up being branded Timothy Mcveigh by a totalitarian regime. But hey most people believe in what Hitler said too. After all he was Man of the Year in times. But I guess the government is always right huh? -

Any US government that appeals the 2nd amendment is not a democracy. I would be honoring them for fighting to save it. -

On topic http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080901/pl_nm/...litics_palin_dc Palin 17 year old daughter to be a mom In response to AW My point is you have absolutely no idea on the dedication and service it takes to provide freedom. The founding fathers of the constitution put the second amendment in the constitution not so we could revoke it later but because they came from a time when Government's had no fear of its citizens. There own Journals have spelled out that they always intended citizens to be able to protect themseleves with arms. We have a democracy because of the blood payments that soldiers have made to protect it. Does that mean my vote or opinion means more than yours. No it does not. It does mean is that i have an acute sense of the amount of effort and responsibility which you will never understand that it takes to hold onto that. And I will not sit idle by and watch it destroyed because of the average american such as yourself taking for granite the freedoms we provide for you by standing a post. You spit on the grave of every man or women who has served. Take examples from Latvia, Belarus, Zimbabwe where guns are outlawed. Look at the rise in crime in the UK and Australia. More examples of disarment gone terrible http://www.michaelkeller.com/news/lethal.pdf
