We Can not even get our government to speak the truth to it's own citizens....let alone to the UN...I wonder how the US would react TO TRADE SANCTIONS..I think we depend more on them than they do on us....tariffs on softwood, and we almost lost our minds....revamping NAFTA and our heads almost exploded...

Selling Wpns to Saudi Arabia just confirmed that money does make the world go round, and regardless of liberal values , enough money changes everything...

I'm sorry, i did articulate my idea well enough. Today Canada as a nation belongs to several defensive pacts, Norad, NATO, ABCANZ,(America, Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand), plus a separate North American treaty with the US, and Mexico. all of them have rules and caveats, all of them have one common thread that the US does most of the lifting and expenditures. They allow Canada to spend just over 1% of GDP on defense, even though NATO has said membership should spend a minimum of 2 % on defense ,we just ignore that and shrug maybe next year....we have big plans though, according to our PM, NATO just smiles and grins but when they talk to the media, it is Canada they refer to as being cheap, or taking advantage of the rest of NATO Yes, there are other nations on that list as well....... just over 1% of GDP is a ridiculously low expenditure for a nation with the largest coast line in the world , even when we count in Coast guard ves, we fall extremely short of means to just patrol it.... i mean we are a G-8 nation, we are approaching a 40 million in population, Most of our military expenditures goes to wages, very little goes into new equipment purchases, every year we loss capabilities due to obsolete equipment .....Canada ranks number 2 in the entire world for the highest paid military...second only to Australia, who has approx. the same stats as Canada but when we look at their military there is NO comparison....and it is growing stronger everyday...Their actions proves it can be down, over time, you just need the will, oh did i mention funding. If Canada was to withdrawal from all this pacts and go it's own way , make it's own mandates , the cost of defense would require much more than 2 % GDP. that's not me talking that is Canadian defense dept along with other high ranking NATO members who have contemplated the same thing. If we continue to under fund our military there will come a point where it will be to broken to fix....the bill will not be affordable....And while some Canadians can not wait for that day....they do not know what the consequences are going to be, loss of sovereignty, is just the tip of the ice burg....

Our government and our laws have given these scumbags freedom to do what ever they want, including murder. How does one gather enough evidence that would satisfy a Canadian court of law....answer, it can not, it is mission impossible....so why do we need these types of laws ?....what a joke....this country needs to get it's shit together, we are more worried about their rights than those of normal Canadians.....
-
Gosthacked. Then what are you trying to say, If we can't help out with a UN mandate, we can't help out with a NATO mandate, we can't help out if there is oil or resources to be had, then where does Canada fit in where can it help. We have obligations from all the defensive pacts we have sighed onto, these defensive pacts allows Canada to cheap out on defensive spending. getting dragged into all these conflicts is the price we pay for being so cheap....If we decided to cut all these strings Canada would have to pay for it's own defenses, and they would be hit with more than a 2 % of GDP bill... If we opted out of thee arrangements and paid our own way for security, and sovereignty we could also decide which of these world problems we wanted to assist in. we can't have both..

Is it a slag, i mean has Canada ever had a PM that has not come from money, or huge family name ? not many examples, so while i agree with you greatness can come from anywhere....Here in Canada it seems to be limited to those with access to lots of cash and backing of a powerful family name.....
-
If you had read my post, you would see i agree with you, most likely for different reasons i 'm sure, but i think the UN is over rated, a waste of time and money, that does not produce anything of substance, on most topics.... I don't think Justin would be appalled, like all the rest of his promises they were" votes" , i mean has he kept any promises todate......they were not because it was good or beneficial for the country, because most liberals eat that UN shit up...they like the idea of our military being neutered, posing no threat to anyone....handing out blankets and teddy bears....
-
This is one of Justin's Campaign promises, to try and get our nation a temporary seat on the UN council. Canadians will remember the election, anyone but Harper election.... This is the path that the liberals chose to get this seat, remember his speech to the UN council and to Canadians he was going to rebrand DND's image from war fighters to "peace keepers" by investing Canadian soldiers and equipment in UN peacekeeping missions. See the massive list of UN failures around the globe.... The answer to your question is very little, other than perhaps a seat on the UN council, which offers very little really. However one would think we as a G-8 nation, with all our resources, including financial and material could afford to help around the world, without any undo hardship... unless your suggesting we should remain within our borders and close our eyes to problems outside borders and say fuck the rest of the world ?....pretty sure that is not a typical Canadian value let alone a liberal value, nor NDP or green party for that matter.....
-
I was just replying to your statement , Canada is going to provide the coalition with Helo support, with CH-47F and armed Griffons to act as Armed escorts....ferrying around troops, supplies, ammo etc. So the coalition spends less time on the roads. IED's are the number one killer in insurgent war fare.

The risk ANY soldier faces on the battle field is great, male of female, I take it your concerned about rape, Rape is about power, control, humiliation, and it works on both males and females, Middle eastern countries have made torture a science, and they are very good at it.....i would be lying if i said that it has not crossed the minds of any soldier, and does provoke fears, but their is a lot of things that soldiers think about on the battle field, surviving one more day is what consumes most soldiers thoughts most of the day....thinking about wife's, kids , family consumes the rest ...... Being a Canadian soldier is knowing your not alone, Canadian tactics in these regions make it extremely hard for the bad guys to be able separate or destroy any formation operating outside the wire, hence why in 10 years of combat operations in Afghanistan NOT one Canadian soldier had been captured.... A female soldier would make one hell of a trophy, hence why the tactics we use, and strategies we employ work...if it did happen, it would also be a huge blow to moral of not only the Canadian military but to our country as well, it would also be a blow to everything these female soldiers have worked so hard at to claw back from their male counter parts...my point is this....those that have chosen this career field have done so for a reason, they want to be a Canadian soldiers nothing more nothing less....not a female soldier, not a male soldier BUT a Canadian soldier...were each is treated equally...we have a long way to go.....we cant do that if we continue with this type of thinking, they don't want to be singled out as girls or boys or what every they identify as ...but known as just soldiers....Our hearts are in the right places, but our actions are flawed , does that make sense...

Sorry for the reach back, have not been around in awhile, lots of talk about females in combat here .....what are we going to do when one of them gets killed....well, we have already broken that moment in history, or have we already forgotten, ...that more than 6 women have come back from Afghanistan an active combat zone in flag draped coffins...5 of those were killed in combat...that's right fighting next to their male comrades in arms. They died doing what they chose to do in life, be a Canadian soldier, they died doing their jobs "close with and destroy the enemy". I say that because i get the impression that some of you think these women are dressed in skirts and hand out blankets or comfort the wounded....That's a load of crap....Why? women have fought to long and to hard to get where they are today, to be able to defend this nation on equal ground with their male counterparts and while far from perfect, the thought of getting captured or mistreated by some extremist has not even come into the picture...They are not going to fold, and turn their backs on all that they have gained to date...... over something that might or might not happen.. these 5 women died in combat with bullets , rockets, and arty flying everywhere....with one side determined to kill the other....They are as tough as any soldier i have meet on the battle field....poke one with a stick if you don't believe me and watch as they kick your ass...They are not saving any bullets for themselves, all of their bullets are going into bad guys....see that is the problem....it is we always run out of bad guys before we run out of bullets....That's not some guy talking out of his ass, that is based on fact....10 years of combat in Afghanistan and not one Canadian soldier had been captured....not one male, or female. Yes i get the fact that these women going to Mali are not going to be combat trades, but instead air force, not the same argument. And your right.... but even the air force has back up plans, to ensure things like this do not happen. Watch for mission creep / or expansion of the numbers involved, this is only going to get bigger.....

Your not interested in have a discussion, you never are....you've made up your mind and nothing i say or source is going to change that. I'm not sure what it is i've done to you, but some where down the line you have become hostile towards me and any topic of the military... As for your question , ask someone you trust that has knowledge in this area.....i'm not avoiding the question, you just don't want to listen to me. Conflict and war does that to people, we here in Canada have not grown up with war so it is very foreign to us, coming back from conflicts changes everyone, some more than others, but everyone comes home a different person. I have been to more funerals here at home than when i was in Afghanistan, a tribute that war not only brings physical pain, but also mental anguish that can be overwhelming to the point of suicide...everyone's experience varies....but that does not mean the tour was not worth the price we paid...for us that were there it has to be worth something....because we paid a very high price..Any way we are all tools of the government, like one big social experiment, we all play a role... I hope your friend gets the help he needs, i mean that, in a good way.

I think you miss the whole point, BC is screaming at the top of it's lungs we don't want your dirty oil. we don't want to take the risk of a spill it will damage our pristine environment, and what everyone else is saying that boat has sailed, you pump your shit into that same environment, knowing full well what that means, to the environment, shrugging their shoulders and quoting it is the most economical way of disposing of it.... one of your major resources is coal....come on really tree huggers and coal....sounds like they are talking from both sides of their mouths.....And then Quebec gets in on it.....WTF....Right after this pipeline goes through they should start the energy east line as well tell Quebec, the same thin get on board or get on the boat to BC...

Maybe you should you should sit them down and tell them the very statement you just posted here, maybe you'll get an education. I'm glad you brought up rhetoric that you have posted, i spent most of my life in the military serving my country in the worlds shit holes, i don't need some guy like you telling me it was all for nothing or my efforts were in vain or make little difference to the average Canadian....when you don't know the first thing our military does for you and the rest of Canadians on a daily basis 24 hours a day 365 days a years. So i get a little pissed when the rhetoric is coming from someone like you....who wants respect for their opinions but is not willing to listen or educate themselves on other matters. Here we sit in the comfort of our homes, taking for granted everything we enjoy in life, clean water, 3 meals a day, nice secure homes, schools , police, fire services, nobody is running around your neighborhood with automatic wpns are they.... nobody forcing a religion on you, your kids futures are not in question, will little billy be forced to become a child soldier while going to get the water for the day, never to be seen again....So while we live in the lap of luxury, and i know this might be to much for you , but what if a few of your tax dollars could change that , even if just for a short period , OH lets not forget their are Canadians "or Nations Military "out their willing to risk it all so your tax dollars are well spent....you don't have to do jack shit...

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/work/putting-women-soldiers-like-me-on-the-front-line-is-dangerous/ Besty read your link sounds like she needs to grow a set of lady balls, She is a combat arms officer, not sure how the British field engineers work, but in Canada they are in the thick of all the action.. demining, explosive disposal, building bridges, clearing obstacles....the list goes on....it can be one of the most dangerous occupations in a war zone.....She lacks the confidence that comes with being part of a Combat force, that knows exactly what it is capable off and what power it can deal out to bad guys, ....* note not once in our 10 years of being in Afghanistan did one Canadian soldier get captured by the enemy.....NOT once....and for the most part combat arms spent most of their tour running the roads outside the wire. In Afghanistan our military forces were not separated by sex, OK other than the bathroom and living quarters ....we were one big green machine....if a girl pulled the i'm a women card, she find herself on a plane back home.... http://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/jennie-carignan-will-be-the-first-female-general-from-the-combat-arms-trades/ http://www.thecasket.ca/archives/34673 https://ml-fd.caf-fac.ca/en/2017/06/5263 http://o.canada.com/news/war-experienced-canadian-maj-eleanor-taylor-advised-u-s-brass-on-females-in-combat

How would you know Gost, you have no idea on what our military does for our country, once again your talking out of your ass, you did't really cut your dick off did you, i mean Rue can be very persuasive, it could explain some of your comments though. Our previous PM's do not hold all the blame here, Canadians have their hands in all this mess as well. Although a few contracts were mishandled , that alone can not responsible for the mess our military is in today.... This Nation spends shit tonnes of tax payers dollars on liberal minded trinkets and feel good projects there is lots of room for increases to DND's budget....Last time we discussed this, Smallc had said there was tones of room for new debt "another liberal convert" the problem is not funding , the problem is having the will to put anything into DND.

Canada has had females in all the combat arms trades for dozens of years now. Yes the Canadian Armed Forces has lowered all the standards to accommodate this political decision to open up all trades across the entire spectrum of Army , Navy, Air force with exception of service in Subs, I am not sure at this time if that is still the case.. I have served with female Infanteers, and other trades as well both in the ranks, or as officers and have not found one that i would not trust my life to, or go into battle with . Those that are not fit have been weeded out long ago, same as their male counter parts, everyone has proved their worth in training on many occasions before going into combat.... you bring up many valid points about strength, endurance, or the ability to defend themselves, and while they are not all created equal, in the physical being , you place a C-7 rifle in their hands, give them the training they require to defend themselves and you have a soldier, not just any soldier, but one that has had to prove herself or himself over and over again to ensure her or his comrades they belong there, that they have earned the right to fight with and beside any other Canadian soldier. I've seen 120 lb female medic throw a 220 lb infanteer over her should and run down an ally under fire. and while i have not served under a female infantry officer , i have had good friends comment on some of the female officers in the CAF and said they performed better than any male officer they have served under and would do it again. Do i think the standards are to low , yes i do, .....I also think that over time anyone can achieve any standard, if you have the will and drive..... while females are not known for being great on the physical side, there are a lot that have gone farther than their male counter parts of the same stature. everyone brings something to the table, it is a platoon commanders role to bring that out and to use that ability for the greater good of the platoon. Remember in todays modern combat , everything is not as physical as it once was, a lot more mechanization, such as hybred suits or attachment braces that allow persons to carry heavy loads, improved rucksacks the list is endless.....everyday the physical barriers get less and less.

Everyone is a dead beat when compared to the US military budget......Canada is a dead beat because most Canadians are to cheap to invest on our own defense, and would rather ride our allies coat tails...we are a nation of talkers we love to debate the shit out of something....all day and all night....and when their is nothing more to debate, we change the rules and debate it some more....can't even get a pipe line across 2 provinces...maybe we need a PM with balls, instead of one that likes to get dressed up.....

ya i'd say crazy as well, but something pushed him over his limit, drove him in that direction..

What do you think pushed this young french men into killing 6 people.....it was not a random act of violence....it was planned , thought out way in advance, WHY....not because he loved muslims...look at europe , and what is happening .....the violence is just starting....
-
Micheal you should have seen this coming a mile away, this shooting maybe the first mass killing but it will not be the last killing ....there is a growing hate on both sides of the fence, and it is going to spill onto the streets, and some weak minded retard is going to take action....our cultures are like oil and water they just don't mix very well, and this does not breed understanding it breeds mistrust and hate...we are not at that stage yet here in Canada, but Europe is turning that way, even the US in places like dearborn michigan, and even in Texas, people don't like change.... and it is going to get worse...

At the time the letter was written there was no apology was there, hence the Asian dude stating that very fact in his letter..... No ,no was named and yet the police were investigating all Asian men right, you read the letter right ? ypu know the one you said was tearing Canada apart, and was full of hate.....he's pissed at the fact Asian men were singled out and he feels slighted by that fact..... that this girl and the rest of the 3 ring circus that resulted in a media making a mountain out of something that did not happen.....an
-
Ya right, these are not the droids your looking for, move on .....regardless, the story stands a young girls makes false statements to the police, school board, politicians , some of the muslim community set up a media circus, to condemn an asian man of assault of a little girl.... more facts the police said it never happened.....end of story....no apology by girl or her family, school board, liberals, no one..... like it never happened.....the letter by the asian dude which you thought was full of hate was questioning why nothing happened.....something we would all like to know What was the final outcome.....or was it dumped because it was no longer news worthy.....it seems to be the theme lately everyone is so quick to condemn any one for any thing, what ever happened to NOT guilty until proven in a court of law.....Now we have guilty until proven innocent....
-
Your kidding right.....Conspiracy theory....the girl is what 11 years old, you think she made all of this up, and the rest of those involved just happened to be standing by ready to take advantage of this incident.....now that is a conspiracy theory.....oh wait that just happened.......And yes there was some muslims involved, plus , wait for it....there was also some whinny liberal politicians involved as well, but you forgot that part and seem to see just the hatred spewing from a letter that an asian dude wrote explaining his discomfort with the situation and his race getting blamed for an attack that did not happen....it is only a conspiracy theory to you because some muslims were mentioned....
