  1. And most indigenous people want cops to be excluded for participating as cops? Wow, I just learn more and more!
  2. Cause apparently BLM represent all non-white people. *sarcasm*
  3. your question is too vague to be answered.
  4. I wasn't referring to general circulation models in my comment. So yes it doesn't make sense. I was referring to models more generally in science and inferring information from a single time series data set.
  5. Your comment does not make sense in the context of responding to what I wrote (which was that you can't infer too much from a simple linear trend). But with respect to what you wrote above, climate and weather are not the same thing. Climate is the statistical distribution of weather.
  6. There are no credible news sources. Be skeptical of everything and get your information from multiple sources.
  7. I never said that it is acceptable for pro-Quebec bigotry. Nor have I said that Quebecers don't have significant over-representation in terms of the PM office or cabinet historically. But I still think that you should look at things on a case by case basis. So if the best candidate happens to be from Quebec, then they should get the position. Abolition of supply management is something that I think is a very good indicator in favour of Bernier in the same way it was for Martha Hall Findlay in the liberal leadership race (who isn't from Quebec).
  8. First CAFE, now the police. Toronto Pride becomes less and less exclusive year by year.
  9. There are too many groups in the conservative party that will likely back Bernier over O'Leary. Be it for him not being conservative enough (such as past comments on NATO, carbon taxes, bestiality, etc.) or because he isn't bilingual.
  10. Come on, this is bigotry against Quebecers. Shouldn't the best candidate get the job? Or do you want some quota for non-quebecers? Bernier wants to abolish the idiotic system of supply management, where as the others (except for O'Leary), as far as I can tell, do not. To me, that says a lot about who is the best candidate.
  11. If I were to guess, Bernier will probably win. But Trump won, so who am I to make predictions? Maybe O'Leary or Chong will take it.
  12. Trudeau is doing a Canada-wide coal phase out by 2030. So the federal government is contradicting itself. Citing that a tax on CO2 emissions is the most economically efficient way to reduce emissions, then they ignore that claim in order to add regulations to coal.
  13. To be fair, a lot of the issues with respect to high energy prices in Ontario are due to the decisions by the Wynne government. Many individuals in the Trudeau government worked in the Wynne government, in particular Gerald Butts. So I don't think criticizing Trudeau is out of place, because the high energy prices are basically his party's fault and for the most part he is just continuing Wynne-like policies. Though the anger at the CO2 emission tax is misplaced. If Ontario simply had a tax on CO2 emissions like BC did, the situation would not be so bad. Ontario decided to take an inefficient regulatory approach where they just ban things (such as coal) and subsidize renewables. The cost of emission reductions in Ontario has been estimated to be around $250/ton of CO2. In comparison to a $10/ton or $50/ton tax, the anger should be directed at inefficient regulatory approaches.
  14. No, that's gnostic atheist. Agnostic Atheists also exist; I am one.
  15. An agnostic is someone who believes that they do not know a god/gods exists. Atheism is a question of belief, agnosticism is a question of knowledge. An agnostic atheist is someone who lacks a belief in god/gods but does not think they know if god/gods exists or not. A gnostic atheist is someone who lacks a belief in god/gods and thinks they are sure that god/gods does not exist. An agnostic theist is someone who beliefs in a god or gods, but does not think they know if god/gods exist or not.
  16. Incorrect. Atheist is someone who lacks a belief in a god.
  17. I said the exact same thing and got blocked, lol.
  18. The soviet era is over with respect to genocide. Their current ban on 'gay propaganda' is a concerning assault on freedom of speech and probably results in unnecessary suicides of LGBT teens in Russia.
  19. You are lumping all forms of FGM together here, which is ridiculous. Mild forms of FGM, such as clitoral hood removal, doesn't prevent females from having orgasm or receiving physical pleasure during sex. Male circumcision was popularized in North America because Kellogg wanted to reduce male masturbation.
  20. Oh, of course not. The Russian propaganda would have you believe that all Western Ukrainians are far-right neonazis.
  21. Yes, befriending a nation that could be a useful ally against ISIS clearly means I have no brains. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia should be our BFF for life as they kill gay people, kill apostates, behead women for shopping without a male guardian, commit genocide in Yemen, and use oil money to fund wahhabist propaganda, which has led to the rise of ISIS, Al Queda, Al Shabab, Boko Haram, Al Nusra and various other groups.
  22. You've bought all of the western media propaganda, haven't you?
  23. Cold war ended decades ago, get over it. They haven't been communist for a long time. You realize that there was a referendum in Crimea, right?
  24. Incorrect. Volume is not the reason why the overall effect of CO2 is larger than the overall effect of methane. Also, given that the change in radiative forcing due to the change in CO2 levels is not even 4 times as large as the change in radiative forcing due to the change in CH4 levels your claim of 'several times' is questionable. The mean-life time of methane is 12 years according to the EPA, and half-life is less than mean-life time. Half life is ~8 years. CO2 on the other hand has a decay time of about 100 years, so you claim here is quite a bit off.
