Bev Oda's Office Caught Forging Document
Bitsy replied to nicky10013's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think this would be the appropriate procedure to follow unless, and it is a big unless, she had signed the document indicating her approval of the funding and then changed her mind or had it changed for her http://www.thehillti...yupdate/view/79 -
Exactly. Mr. Canada and his video can save us!

Will that be before or after the release of your video of the Gay Pride parade sex scenes?

Bev Oda's Office Caught Forging Document

I think we all agree that she was well within her rights to deny the funding so the question that begs to be answered is why she allowed her parliamentary secretary, Jim Abbot, to tell the House of Commons that the CIDA denied the funding? Why did she respond with "The CIDA decision not to continue funding KAIROS was based on the overall assessment of the proposal, not on any single criterion" to MP Glen Pearson when questioned about the defunding? She was first willing to let CIDA be responsible for the decision until the information from the Access to Information Act became public. She has misrepresented the CIDA’s role and her role in this matter from the very beginning. -

At last, we agree..........it's a woman's right. In the states, we refer to it as a woman's choice. -
For me, it is important to go the source rather than depend upon another’s analysis. I see that most of what is depicted as to what Muslims want is taken from the poll but I take issue with a couple of points, suicide bombings and their view of the US, which I cannot seem to find in this poll. I may stand corrected on both since I have not done an in depth read of the poll. http://pewglobal.org/2010/12/02/muslims-around-the-world-divided-on-hamas-and-hezbollah/

National Enquirer is not a Canadian newspaper. The purpose of a newspaper is to inform their readers of grocery prices and weather changes, their role is to alert not alter; that falls to the government and its citizens. What part of National Newspaper Awards needs explaining? Geez, and you sit in judgment on the Star readers ability to comprehend the written word. -

Betsy, I know you mean well but I thought I was very clear that no one had the right to tell me what to do with my body and that includes people on forums. -

You are welcome, it is a very reasoned position much more so than the Abrams editorial in the WaPo. Thanks for pointing it out. -

I was referring to paid circulation; in the states, a paper is judged by their paid circulation not their distribution. I was speaking of the National Newspaper Awards; they are the equivalency of our prestigious Pulitzer Prize Awards. The Star has won 10 National Newspaper awards for Best Investigating Reporting, more than any other newspaper. In the US, the Best Investigating Reporting is one of the most coveted awards. They were second only to the Globe and Mail in Best Long Features Reporting; ditto to Best Foreign Reporting; they were number one in Breaking News category. -

Timothy, since you are not the one who has to bear a child, raise and provide for a child, your views on my comment are misogynic at worst or ignorant at best. No one has the right to rent my womb for 9 months to satisfy their religious beliefs. Abortions should be safe, legal and rare and the decision should be made by the woman and her doctor, not her pastor or her congressional representatives. Any continued epistles of yours on this matter will elicit no further response from me. -

Timothy, I am a USian and abortion with many restrictions is legal but being challenged daily by many of our Christians. They want all abortion, even for rape or incest, to be illegal; the most radical of these Christians even want to see birth control illegal. That is an encapsulate overview of what is happening in the US; you can find out more if you avail yourself of the availability of US news on the internet. -

Nuance escapes you, Timothy. The Christians are telling telling me what can be inserted in my womb, or in my body. I hope that helps your understanding of my comment. -

When I see the term yellow journalism bandied about without any evidence, I often think it is the color of the reader’s lens. How can a newspaper with the circulation of the Star and the prizes amassed by them be practicing yellow journalism? If the facts of their news stories are incorrect, do you not have means to address the lies they print? Their opinion journalists are just that, opinions, but their news reporters should be expected to present the facts of an event, and if they do not, they should be censured/sued/fired or whatever means available to be held accountable for their stories. They certainly are in the US…think Jason Blair, Jack Kelly, Eason Jordan, Judith Miller, etc. Canada needs an independent media watchdog to prevent this type of “yellow journalism”. -

I thought the Star had the highest circulation of all Canadian newspapers, as well as more awards than any other Canadian newspaper. Surely they can't all be unable to distinguish between "accused" and "guilty". -

Thank you, waldo, for posting this relative information. It adds another level of credibility to the speculation of the professors -

Accused, scribblet, accused. I assume Star readers are smart enough to recognize the distinction between accused of and guilty of. Considering that one of these professors was previously targeted by conservatives certainly makes this FOA newsworthy by all journalistic standards. I read nothing that indicates the professors are fearful of the information requested even the information that goes beyond the scope. They are willing to be transparent if only the individual requesting the information would respond in like. Anyone here ever wonder why paranoia is such a favorite word of Conservatives. -
