If a countries leader threatens another with annihilation
bud replied to a topic in The Rest of the World
you've linked to some article written in 2001 on a site that is based in france. the comments in this suspect article are made by some cleric who is not an iranian government official. this is the link to the article that you posted: http://www.iran-press-service.com/articles_2001/dec_2001/rafsanjani_nuke_threats_141201.htm this is the domain: http://www.iran-press-service.com, which does not go to any news agency. your proof that iran wants to annihilate israel is total crap. are you interested in facts or are you here to propagate the site with misinformation and lies? so far, you are 0 for 1. care to discuss the other 2 points? here, i'll help you: the IDF web sites shows attacks by hezbollah but it doesn't show assassinations and attacks by israel in lebanon. furthermore, the 2006 israeli attack on lebanon was pre-planned. hezbollah, as they have done before, wanted to kidnap israeli soldiers to exchange for lebanonese prisoners which israel had promised to hand over in another deal, but did not. hezbollah initiated diversionary rocket attacks on israeli military near the coast and near the israeli border village while another hezbollah group crossed from lebanon into israel and ambushed two israeli Army vehicles, killing three israeli soldiers and seizing two. israel's response? carpet bomb the country of lebanon as a collective punishment where over 1000 civilians were killed and massive damage to the infrastructure was made. did the kidnapping efforts by hezbollah warrant this kind of response? here are some facts that you need to learn and acknowledge before israel's brutal attack on gaza: there was a ceasefire in place between hamas and israel where no rockets were fired by hamas. however, israel violated the ceasefire on november 4th by attacking and killing hamas members in gaza. it was this incident that triggered a response by hamas and then of course, israel's brutal attack on gaza where 1000 civilians were killed and numerous war crimes were committed by israel. israeli spokesman agrees that hamas did not fire rockets. here is the former israeli foreign minister denying the facts. i hope you don't: so really, all this about hamas provoking the brutal attack and threatening israel is b.s. -
that's b.s. because the palestinians agreed to accept the state of israel over 20 years ago. eh? which arabs? the PLO and the current palestinian prime minister accepts the state of israel and this has been the case for over 20 years. it's in their charter. are you talking about hamas and are you saying that hamas represents all of arabs? let down their guard? what does that have to do with the increasing illegal jewish settlements? the house demolitions in east jerusalem? what does that have to do with the government of israel vowing to never a palestinian state? those actions are not in self-defense. those are the actions of a state that is not interested in peace and is only interested in expanding its territory and to push another group out of that territory.

you could have just linked to whatever response you had about it instead of typing what you did. i still have not seen how iran has threatened to annihilate israel. what about the other two topics? going to respond or are you going to pretend it's not there? -
the extremist far right groups who are against the formation of a palestinian state are in control of the israeli government. yet you keep making excuses for them when it comes to their policies regarding the occupied territories. Israel's far right-wing is real threat to Mideast peace The Haredi minority aspires to force its beliefs on the majority, and then there’s a tiny minority that aspires to force Greater Israel on the majority, whatever the cost. link

because you're a liar.

what would your definition of 'provoked' be? how did lebanon provoke israel to attack it? how did the gaza strip provoke israel to attack it? how has iran provoked israel? if you're going to take this seriously and answer the questions, you will need to provide proof. -
israel blames embassy staff for letting the truth slip out.

here is the report. it's in french and the sources are at the bottom. the study offers world proven sources and pretty much an objective view on the ratio of water use in the jordan bassin. while i would not carry on defending the french commission, shooting the messenger seems quite shallow. here is a report by the world bank that the report uses as source. on topic, i find it very peculiar that the israeli embassy in paris claims it couldn't alter the report, because it had no prior knowledge of it. the mere assertion that a foreign representation claims to alter an in situ fact finding report is baffling. -

zimbabwe or nigeria do not claim to be the only democracy in the region and they do not receive $3 billion /year from the west to spend on a military that breaks international law. there is a pattern. israeli apologists usually respond to valid criticism of israel by comparing the situation to another country. why? because they can't refute facts. i mean, what kind of a country demolishes water wells to punish people? “Israel denies Palestinians their rightful share of water. It also uses water as a weapon to target vulnerable Palestinian communities. This includes its systematic demolition of Palestinian rainwater harvesting cisterns and wells used as a means to forcibly displace Palestinian communities who depend on them for their basic water needs.' ' The number of demolitions continues to increase, with at least 25 Palestinian wells and 32 Palestinian cisterns demolished in 2011 alone.” -
it's panic time in israel. something that has been going on for a while has slipped through the cracks and the censors and into the mainstream politics in france. i doubt it will get much airtime in the north american mainstream media, if any time at all, but it will still be interesting to watch how the big hasbara machine will be handling this. French parliament report accuses Israel of water 'apartheid' in West Bank The report said that water has become "a weapon serving the new apartheid" and gave examples and statistics that ostensibly back this claim. "Some 450,000 Israeli settlers on the West Bank use more water than the 2.3 million Palestinians that live there," the report said. "In times of drought, in contravention of international law, the settlers get priority for water." of course, the facts about israel's theft of palestinian water cannot be refuted. the saddest thing from all of this is that the only issue israel has with the report is that they messed up by not squeezing the truth out of it.

he was elected in 2009 and heavily supported by the tea party. the question now is whether or not the same people who elected him, will put their support for paul.

i thought you followed politics beyond the foxnews headlines. if you did, you'd know tom davis to have been one of the most sought after politicians in south carolina by the gop candidates. davis is quite popular with the tea party. santorum also acknowledges davis' importance and that's why he called his endorsement a 'big deal'.

Nice...hadn't even considered that angle. Don't hurt 'em too bad!

israel would fit your definition. not only that, but israel continues to disregard international law which is another characteristic of a rogue state. show me where iran has done this and as you suggested in the title, 'threatened with annihilation'. -

many palestinians are taking the terrorism approach? do tell, who are these many palestinians. hamas has initiated several ceasefires with israel. one was before operation cast lead which israel violated that led to the war crimes committed by israel in gaza. tell me about all the attacks by hamas in the past few years that makes you feel like you can say they've not significantly reduced attacks? just because you say something, it doesn't make it true. either give examples or don't make false claims. just going forward with more land theft? the zionism ideology includes the acceptance of taking another people's rights in order to achieve its goal. the extreme zionists who control the israeli government are against a palestinian state. this is why: - their platform explicitly says they will not allow a palestinian state - they continue to violate international law by increasing settlements and annexing palestinian land. in fact, they've sped up the illegal settlement construction. zionism, especially modern zionism is wrong. the reason why it's wrong because it tries to achieve its goals at the expense of other people's rights. if there are 'zionists' who are against the settlements, the brutal occupation and their government's platform to never allow a palestinian state, i'd love to know who they are. ignorance is comparing zionism with a religion. when? tell me if you're against the following wrongs: - illegal jewish settlements - expansion of the illegal settlements - the government of israel's platform which says they'd never allow a palestinian state - theft of palestinian resources, like water if you fail to respond to the above, you're a typical zionist apologist. tell me the last time there was a suicide attack. how many suicide attacks have we seen from the palestinians in the past 5 years? besides the homemade rockets that land in empty lands and have killed less than a handful of people in the past 5 years, tell me what else what i need to condemn? lets talk about it. you think wrong, again. i am for international law, which says you can't steal people's land because you were given dominating weapons. what about you? are you for or against international law? israel doesn't have a choice to stop increasing the illegal settlements? israel doesn't have a choice to change their platform and formally agree to accept a palestinian state? israel doesn't have a choice in stopping the demolition of palestinian homes in east jerusalem? does mahmoud zahar make the rules for hamas, or: Meshal ordered a de facto cease-fire with Israel not only in the Gaza Strip, but also in the West Bank. Hamas had already refrained from launching rockets from Gaza. The sources say Meshal issued the order in late November, after the first round of reconciliation talks in Cairo between Hamas and Fatah. After that meeting, it emerged that the two organizations agreed also to focus on a popular struggle along the lines of the Arab Spring. you're trying really really hard to pretend that hamas has not made efforts, but facts and reality are working against you. i stand by what i said. majority of the world agrees with me which is a palestinian state based on the 1967 border. no. you're failing to comprehend something very simple. the existence of israel is not the question. it's israel's brutal occupation, the expansionism through settlement increasing and land annexation and of course vowing to never allow a palestinian state which is the problem. many of those who consider themselves zionists are advocates of what the israeli government is doing. unless you can say otherwise, you're one of those as well. how would adding 'jewish' to the name change anything? this is another red herring. wanting to call israel a 'jewish state' is a new thing. again, here is your chance to explain your ideology of zionism. what do zionists want? are they happy with the country they have or are they wanting the greater israel? do you agree with what the government of israel is doing, which is; 1) illegal settlement increase 2) vowing to never allow a palestinian state 3) palestinian home demolitions in east jerusalem to make way for internationally recognized illegal jewish settlements 4) the brutal and illegal occupation
